Vizzed.com 10 Year Anniversary, Contribution Point System & User Submitted Content
Contribution Point System
I've been working on this feature for 3 weeks now so I'm very excited to finally introduce you all to the Contribution Point System. This new point system is a measure of how much you contribute to the site. Almost every action on the site now has CP and Viz attached to it. The higher your CP is, the more features that will be available to you and the more respected you'll be among the staff and the rest of the users. It will also increase your chances of becoming a staff member. List of Contribution Point Actions and a list of points you've earned: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/contributionpoints.php That page will show every single action, a descr Moderators have the ability to track all Contribution Actions and they also have the ability to remove points that you earn from certain actions so if you're caught abusing the system in any way, you'll be stripped of your points and probably banned. As time goes on, I'll add more actions to the list of actions that award you Viz and CP. User Submitted Game Content Users with a power level of "Normal" and above now have the ability to add content and change content on games. Here's how it works: Each game page has a link that you can click that opens up a window with all kinds of data that you can change for a game. If a game is missing any information, you simply click to add it and a staff member will review your request. If your request is a good request, a staff member will accept your request and your content will be added to the game's page and you'll be granted CP and Viz. If you submit bad content, you'll be at risk of being down rated by a staff member and users with less than 0 Trust Points can't submit content. Users can also submit content to games in the Video Game Room. In the future I'll make it so that you can add graphics to games and also add missing games. Vizzed.com 10 Year Anniversary Vizzed.com (not vizzed board) turned 10 years old earlier this month. More information here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=55723 Want to become a Site Staff member? Anyone who can get 750+ points this month or next month will qualify for a staff position. If you get 750+ this month or next month, send me a Private Message letting me know and I'll look into the action log and if your earned your points legitimately, I'll give you a Site Staff position. If you have any questions or feedback, please post it to this thread: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=55729 |

Unlimited Netplay for the Month
For the entire Month of March, there will be unlimited Netplay. This means that there wont be any Netplay restrictions. Usually you can only join sessions and need the special 'Netplay' item to create the sessions.
Hopefully this will encourage more netplay sessions to take place. If you have any questions or feedback, post to this thread: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=55250 Some recently asked questions: What is Netplay? It allows you to play many of the games in the Retro Game Room online in multiplayer mode with 1 or more other users. Some of the systems include: Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, N64, Nintendo NES and more. How do I create a session? Go to a game that supports netplay. Scroll down to the netplay section and click the link to create a netplay session. Fill in the info and your game will become ready for other people to join. How do I join a session? Each game that supports netplay will show a list of active sessions. You can also go to the lobby page (link at top of the RGR) and that page will have a list of all active sessions for all games. That page also has a chat room where you can talk with users and ask which games they'd be willing to play with you. |

Vizzed Youtube Video Uploader Back Up
I took down the Vizzed Youtube Video Uploader a few weeks ago but it's now back up.
What is the 'Vizzed Youtube Video Uploader'? It allows you to upload videos to the Vizzed youtube account that you recorded with the Vizzed RGR Plugin. This is convenient for users who don't have a youtube account, don't want to clutter their own youtube account or simply want to help out vizzed. Where do you find the 'Vizzed Youtube Video Uploader'? In the video section of any game page, you'll see a link that says 'Click to Upload your Video to Vizzed Youtube', you click that. How do you record videos using the Vizzed RGR Plugin? Not all games support it but many games let you record a video of yourself playing the game by pressing either F8 or clicking the Record button which appears in the play window. By default, some games don't support video recording so sometimes you gotta click the 'Play game using Mednafen' link at the top left of the play window. Here's how you can earn Viz by simply recording yourself playing games This is probably the easiest way to earn lots of Viz; simply record videos of your gameplay and upload it to either your youtube account (be sure to link your video to the game's page) or by uploading it to the Vizzed youtube account. New Trust Point System
For the past few years, the forum has desperately been in need of a new Trust Point System, one that can't be as easily abused and one that the staff has more control over. I have finally recreated the Trust Point System from the ground up using ideas that I've come up with and that others have come up with over the past few years.
For those who don't know, the Trust Point system is a system that measures a user's loyalty to vizzed and their trustworthiness among the forum users. When a user gets enough Trust Points, they become a 'Trusted Member' which gives them a few extra privileges and sets them apart from everyone else. Trust Points are meant to be earned by posting quality posts and by earning respect from fellow users and staff. Trust Points are NOT meant to be purchased or asked for and anyone asking for them is at risk of losing all their current points and possibly even banned. For more information on how the new system works or if you have questions & feedback, go here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=53041 |

Tecmo Super Bowl Netplay Tournament
The NFL is in the playoffs and the Super Bowl will be soon so I figured this would be the perfect time to hold a Tecmo Super Bowl Netplay Tournament. We'll be playing the Tecmo Super Bowl 2013 (TecmoBowl.org hack) version of the game.
Each user will play 4 games of "regular" season and the teams with the best record will advance to a playoffs. Depending on how many people enter this tournament, the playoffs will be 3-5 games. When 2 users are paired up to play against each other, they have 2 days to play against each other. If this tournament goes well, than I'll make it a habit of holding a netplay tournament every month and various games. Requirements: -You must live in the United States (there'd be too much lag with people in other countries) -The RGR Plugin must work fine on your computer, especially for NES and Netplay games (since that's what we'll be using) Prizes: 1st = 10,000 Viz 2nd = 2,500 Viz 3rd = 1,000 Viz If you want to enter, simply respond to the below thread. The tournament will most likely begin next Monday. Sign Up to Tournament |

Merry Christmas
I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. A gift from me to everyone else, the Viz price of all games is 50% off! I know it's not Christmas quite yet but I figured I'd let everyone know of all these offers ahead of time so everyone knows about them before Christmas.
7 Days of Vizzed Christmas You'll all be rewarded a nice Christmas gift when you come to the site on Christmas (server time). Additionally, you'll be rewarded a random amount of Viz for each day that you come to vizzed from the 25th until the end of the year, the 'Vizzed 7 Days of Christmas'. Christmas Games in the Retro Game Room I put together a list of about 30 Christmas games that can be played in the RGR: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=34124 Earn an easy 1000 Viz I also put together a video highlighting 12 Christmas games (non hacked): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcbh8UIMMj8 I'll give you 1000 Viz for liking and commenting on the above youtube video. Let me know in the below thread once you've done this. Tell your friends about the site and earn lots of Viz From now until the end of the year, if you refer 10 people to the site, I'll give you 20,000 Viz on top of the 5000+ Viz that you'll automatically get for referring them. In other words, you'll earn 25,000+ Viz for referring 10 of your friends to the site. There's a ton of kids on Christmas break, a lot of them may be looking for something to do, why not introduce them to Vizzed? Once you've referred the users (and they've registered), let me know in the below thread. Any questions, comments or feedback? Or do you simply want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas? Happy 8 Year Anniversary & 2012 Vizzed Awards
As of Today, 12-06-12, Vizzed Board is 8 years old!
This year on vizzed we've seen some of the biggest RGR Plugin updates! Sega CD, Netplay, Video Recording, Arcade/MAME and many other new systems and features. In 2013, Vizzed will focus on expanding the site in other directions. There will be a few more RGR Plugin updates but there's been just way too much money invested into the Plugin over the past year, well over $5000 and nearly $10,000 since the RGR Plugin launched. Of course the Retro Game Room will still stay alive and continue to have new games, features and content added to it but non-RGR features that you can expect to see in 2013 includes a Battle Arena, new Item Shop, Avatar Creator, Video Game Music, Flash Game Room and much more! You can find the awards and additional anniversary information here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=51039 |
