I never played the original NIGHTS and I'm not sure if the gameplay here is the same but I just figured out if you do a flip you can see the star trail behind you form a circle. As long as you complete the circle (you'll see it pinch off) any blue orbs within the circle will be collected so you don't necessarily have to touch them. I played nearly 50 games to figure that out.

jerryaberry : Yeah the original game is like that too. This game is similar to the original and the concept of collecting the blue orbs is the same but in the original, the rings weren't required to get, they only added to your overall score. The original also has enemies. Basically this is a mini game version of the original and is missing a lot. Still a great game though.

Davideo7: This is a great game! I wouldn't have found it if I hadn't seen this post, thanks for that. It was kind of hard to get the hang of the game at first but eventually I realized the purpose of the game and  got used to its controls, and it was a nice experience, sadly I only got around 45,000 points (Can't remember the exact score) thanks again.

cow5030 : The original game isn't this hard, this version is very hard. If you have an xbox 360 or a playstation 3, you can get the arcade full version of the game, or at least a trial to try it out.

SuperCrash64 : Personally, I suspect Cheat Engine is involved with this somehow. I know how NiGHTS works from playing Journey of Dreams, the Steam version of Into Dreams... and this game before the competition came about. I do not see how it would be possible to max the score in 3 minutes.

Yeah there is for sure some sort of manipulation going on with regards to the G. Ceara Guy. He registers today gets 15 seconds and maxes out the score? I'm sure I don't have to tell you that he manipulated the system using some sort of "injector" or something similar.
