This month's Speed Run competition is for 'Daze Before Christmas' for the Super Nintendo. You can play it here:

The point of this competition is to beat the game as fast as you can.

RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of the ending screen by pressing F6 when you've completed the game. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where it shows the Speed Runs, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Speed Run', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Speed Run' to submit your speed run.

You must also record your time trial session using the RGR Plugin and than submit that video to the game's page. The reason that this is important is because there are cheats for this game that allow you to skip levels, having to show your session prevents the possibility of cheating. You can upload your video to either the vizzed youtube account or your own but you must record a video and submit it to the game's page.

I found a problem. You cannot record a video and do a speedrun at the same time. If you click the 'Play using Madnafen' tab to enable video recording, it takes you out of time trial mode. So you can't do a speedrun anymore. Any ideas on what to do for the competition?

Davideo7 : Oh yeah. Every level that has an extra life that isn't random lets people get as high of a score they want. They simply have to kill all enemies and grab all gifts (including the extra life), and die buy falling in a pit. All the enemies and items come back, including the extra life. They can just loop this over and over. However, I seriously doubt anyone will max out the score doing this. I tested it, just getting a score of 1million takes at LEAST 4.5 hours, and the max score is 10million. So unless they want to try to spend 45 strait hours of nonstop game play to max the score, it won't happen. But the cheat is there none the less.

Just wondering, why would a score manipulation cheat matter for this competition? Since it is a speed run competition, spending hours trying to bump a score seems counterproductive.
