One thing I notice about this game is that even though the difficulty does get higher and higher each time you complete the game, it doesn't really ever get ridiculously hard. I find that when I die when I get further into the game, it is because I just get overconfident and start to get too freaking careless.

rcarter2 : So it's one of those games where a score run could go on for hours lol. I think Robotron is like that if you're good enough, I think that's one of those games where the world record holder spend days achieving his score (I might be thinking of a different game but I'm pretty sure it's Robotron).

I honestly have no idea if Robotron loops. I do know it does have something like 200 levels (maybe more), and they loop around style of level (enemy makeup and human count) in a noticeable pattern. If the guy who has the record spent days, I assume that after level 200 (or however many levels that game technically has), it must loop back.

Potentially it is a loop but in the documentary "Chasing Ghosts" it is clear that you can take advantage of other things. This works for Robotron and Centipede where you do not kill the last "true enemy" allowing you to stay in one of the earlier levels (so things aren't quite as fast and chaotic) and you simply keep killing this "other enemy" or some kind of bonus enemy that keeps spawning endlessly. For example, in Centipede keep some of the centipede alive and keep killing the spider bonus. It's not that easy though and I refuse to play like that because it is unbearably boring.
