You can now read the entire King James Version of the Bible on Vizzed! This is a project I've been working on for my other site http://www.mybiblegames.com/ on and off for about a week or so now so think of this as an expansion of that site on Vizzed rather than an expansion of Vizzed. Vizzed is a Christian friendly site but not a Christian site, I respect the atheists of this site enough to not take vizzed in that direction but it definitely doesn't hurt the site to merge a little with MyBibleGames.

The feature is still far from complete but you can test it out here:
https://www.vizzed.com/bible/passage.php

I basically plan to add just loads of features and I'll basically implement just about every requested feature as well. I plan to make this the best online bible on the internet and with the many many ideas I've already got planned for it, I definitely think that'll be a possibility.

The 'Vizzed Virtual Bible' (final name pending) will most likely have an "official" launch in 2-5 months but even after launch I'll continue to add to it. This will mostly be a project that I work on every once in a while so don't expect updates very often.

Current features include:
-Book, Chapter and Verse Navigation
-Advanced Google-like search (try typing jesus christ for example)
-Clickable verses (eventually you'll be able to "favorite" verses)
-Verses dynamically create a shareable image (eventually customizable with generated html)
-See what others are reading
-A few other things

Some future features include:
-Note taking (can apply notes to book, chapter or verse)
-Note sharing (you can share your notes and see what others said about what you're reading)
-Study info (get information about the locations and people of what you're reading)
-Discussion (chat area for every book, chapter and verse)
-Quizzes (to see how much you remembers and you'll be able to make them as well)
-And so much more!

If you have any questions or feedback, please don't hesitate to post it

Wow, way to get people involved . First of all, this will help me with my homework (haha ), second of all, this will probably attract more people to the site, making more people come on Vizzed. They'll probably find something they weren't looking for with all the games and I think this is a good add on to the site. I hope you have more creative ideas like this one David! I like how you want to help people in more than one way, that one way being entertaining people with all the games. Peace .

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!!! I love this addition to the site. Some people probably won't be happy, but I'm glad you're so upfront about your choice of beliefs. Plus, the KJV is my Bible of choice, generally. I bet a few other people will be really happy about this, too, especially Singelli.

Singelli : You'll wanna see this.

This is awesome! I know that many people won't like this move, but if they already know that you are a Christian, it should be no surprise. I came up with a really good idea based off of this, once I test out the Bible here, maybe I could get some Christians to begin to enjoy reading their Bible in the morning. (Plus it could help other to grow in the Lord, if I create a Daily Thoughts on a Passage type thread.)

supernerd117 :
Yeah, I already spammed David's inbox about it because I was so hyped!  The poor guy could hardly get any work on it when I discovered it, because I was just sending him pm after pm. haha! XD  I'm UBER EXCITED!!!!

And David, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the search feature!  It's looking so awesome and amazing! Thank you for this wonderful Christmas gift!!!

darthyoda :  I was actually thinking about how this feature would make it so much easier to hold bible studies in the morning again.  We used to do that, but all of the participants got caught away in real life (play got hired as a teacher, I got a principal that kept me busier, etc etc)

Haha, I forgot to say anything about the religious benefits, but a dislike for it? Anyway, since I did get a dislike (my first ), I think I should make it a daily thing for me read a daily bible verse, since I'm on here every day. It's like a consequence for me not saying anything about religion, except it isn't a consequence at all! It'll help many more people than just me adding this to the site! I know I'm planning on a verse a day at least, and I also know I'm not alone. Again, great idea, and I hope you keep your great ideas coming . Better start on my bible verse. Peace .

I'm really liking this idea. My only suggestion would be to eventually put up more versions of it. Sometimes, the KJ version can be a little wonky on how it says things. It would also give different points of view for the same verses. The NIV, NLT, & Message versions would be what I recommend. I believe the Message is the one most like the way people talk today as well so that might help people relate more. Other than that, i'm really looking forward to trying this out.

Well personally I probably won't be playing any of the games because I'm not very religious, but this is really interesting to me from a programming perspective . Also, I really like that Vizzed won't be becoming a christian community, because I really like Vizzed, but I'm not interested in religion of any type (no offense to you or any religiously active members on the site, of course).

You are adding all the chapters?
That seems in conflict with it being family friendly. I don't think kids should be reading judges 19 for example.

thenumberone :

To skip verses would make it incomplete. It's a book, and not even an M-rated (or T-rated) one at that. Leave the entire thing there or don't put it up at all. ...and quit trying to protect "kids" from everything. Also, they probably won't read it anyhow. It's too boring for them.

Clearly a site that doesn't allow swearing should allow a story about rape, and chopping the victim up into several pieces.
How naive of me to protect kids from that, it sounds like a funn story.
Just so long as there are no swears in it, that would be too far.
Murder and rape are one thing, but swearing crosses the line.

MCJungleKitty : The search really lets you find just about anything since it functions very similar to Google.

supernerd117 : Yeah the King James version is probably the most popular but it can be a little difficult to understand because of its Old English. I'm going to try and get the New King James version added as well but that's not public domain so I'll have to see what it'll take to get permission to use it. If I do get the NKJV version then that'll be the default version since in my opinion, it's the best translation out there.

darthyoda : Yeah I have no plans on shoving this new feature down anyone's throat so hopefully no one takes offense or gets annoyed by this new feature. It should be pretty easy for someone who dislikes it to ignore it and pretend it's not on the site.

Singelli : To be honest, you offered me motivation.

Surgiac : Yeah I'll work on getting the license to use other versions, the King James version is one of the few public domain versions. The version I want to get added the most is the New King James version since that is the best translation from my own experience.

jack3604 : No offense taken and I'm glad you didn't take offense by this new feature

thenumberone : All of the chapters are already added. At very most you could view the Bible as PG-13 but the site already has portions of the site that are intended for users 13 and up (cafe corner forum, debate and logic forum, and even a room in the chat room is 16+). There are also M rated games on the site keep in mind.

I appreciate you looking out for the kids of this site but I have it under control

I think it's a cool add. It's neat how you can link to a specific book and chapter.

The clickable verse links don't seem to be working. It seems to always take you back to Genesis.

Gosh, I had noticed that about the clickable verses and forgot to mention it!  Bah!  LOL

And golly... I did, David?  haha! Well, I'm glad for that, then.

I think I'll start using this feature to do my daily readings.  It's so convenient, and that way people on my friend's list might notice it who hadn't before.

That's really cool! That's never really something I've thought about being here, but I think it's a great idea. Personally, I don't use the King James version, but it seems to be used the most by people around here, I'm assuming you included, so it makes sense that you would have that one. But great job, David!
That's really cool! That's never really something I've thought about being here, but I think it's a great idea. patar4097 : I actually use the New King James version the most but I do use the King James version the second most. The reason the KJV was added is because it's public domain, I'm going to work on getting permission to get the NKJV added.

Perhaps the new testament is pg13, however the old testament is certainly not. Iv yet to see a movie rated pg 13 with that kind of content.

The fundamental difference between adult games and the old testament is one is fake, and the other is meant to be real. I think most would agree that someone describing how they subjected someone to rape before then chopping them into pieces, would be an inappropriate story.
There is no difference here.
Other content of the old testament ranges from justifying slavery, killing children for being insolent, and condoning rape.
Given this is presented as fact, and with the consent of god, I do in fact think its inappropriate. None of those crimes are justifiable and they should not be presented as such.
It was fine that you included your faith in the site, its your site after all. It was fine that you allowed the Christian conservatives forum because it was in relation to your other site.
It was questionable when it became a rented forum, because it then became preference for Christians, no other faiths were given their own forum. But again, your site, so thats still justifiable.
Bible passages, so long as they weren't divisive that wouldn't be too much of an issue. But there is now plenty of divisive content. I would feel pretty uneasy if I was gay, and came to this site only to read this:
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them".

The content actively singles out gays, heretics, the disobedient etc etc as evil and deserving of death.
There are plenty of Islamic sites touting that and they are condemned. Really there is little difference here.
This content is an escalation and a move away from the sites core purpose, for game lovers, and the site is progressively moving from an inclusive gaming site to a two tier one. Maybe it wont go any further, maybe it will, but I personally don't approve.

I wish you well in the future, and a happy new year when it comes. But from here we part ways, I bid you adieu.

I have a question. You said that people will be rewarded a random amount of viz, how do you do it at random? Do you have a program that goes from minimum to a maxium amount of Viz and send it 2 uses like that?
