I'm not really sure that defending my perspective would make any difference at this point. You've all already decided exactly what you think of me and my "deplorable" actions, so nothing I can say will change that.

If "not breaking rules" is still enough for some one to be condemned, then by all means hate on me as much as you please. It's not the criticism that's turning me off, it's the drama. I don't see how making the most of a competition that virtually no one is even bothering to compete in is a crime, but if that's grounds for a DQ or a Ban, then by all means do it.

I truly wish you all nothing but the best in your endeavors, regardless of how you feel about me.

EX Palen : I don't see how it's a crime to be indecisive about participating. I know I was several times the month I ended up winning the rainbow banner. Speaking from experience I don't think that's an uncalled for reaction for a competition that in most cases requires you to invest more or less every day of your life into it for a month. I know I was very indecisive several times when competing myself..

Is saying you're going to quit and going against your word annoying? Maybe, but I think it's wrong to blame Cox for somehow acting "deplorable" and ruining the entire competition because of that. You also talk a lot about other dirty tricks he has used but you've yet to actually tell us what dirty tricks he is using. If we felt he was truly using unfair tactics we would DQ him from that jersey or the entire competition need be, because trust me we have been watching him and the others competing. I also think it's wrong that you're acting like you're somehow speaking for some silent majority by saying "we" when many of us don't have any problems with him at all.

I think it stems more from you being annoyed with him having tried to win rainbow again after already having won it once, but there's no rule against that. He's the one that has put in the most time into the competition therefore it makes sense that he's currently leading it. I think posts like this where in stead of pming locals you try to make someone publically look bad and then cause drama through the following discussion, is much more likely to demotivate people to compete than anything Cox ever did during the course of this TdV. I think that's what "sucks the fun" out of the competition.

EX Palen : I'm going to be blunt here. If you had any kind of a legitimate argument outside of a subjective view of the competition and how cox is being unfair, you would've gone through proper channels to let us know and we would have taken care of it. I think this is just an attemp at a public character assassination. It could be argued that the only reason he's been scoring multiple jerseys is that there's been a lack of participation from the other big players in the last few days, with the exception of yosh, However, I think we're both making a lot of assumptions here and we can't really have a guilty until proven innocent attitude.

Mynamescox44 : It might make more of a difference than you think. Some of us might have our minds made up, but if you have a case and you still want to participate, I don't think you should be pressured out of it by one or two people and you should make your case. At the same time, if all this manufactured drama has been a total buzzkill, then I can understand that. Just don't let anyone ruin it for you.

Mynamescox44 annihilates the competition.

EX Palen: Can someone tell me about these "dirty tactics" that cox has been using? Because I am honestly clueless on what they are. And if he was using them why didn't you PM the Locals about it?

And about you going on about how cox is ruining the competition and decouraging people from competing in it and whatnot, you do realize that publicly assassinating a competitor's character is also killing competition as well. How would you feel as a member who one day wanted to compete in the TdV see someone get called out publicly for NOT breaking the rules, and dare I say, showing good sportsmanship? Heck, cox even encouraged me and jygin to compete with him for the sake of the team competition!

And before you go on about how I stopped competing because of cox, just stop. I stopped because doing this for several days in a row can be rather tiring, I have school to worry about (including several advanced classes no less), and the TdV has never been a priority for me. ORIGIONALLY I WAS JUST GOING FOR THE TOP 10 AND GOING FOR THE WIN NEXT TDV.

About cox being like "I'm done" when someone publicly called him out, while I'm not saying that doing that is good (and doesn't paint a very good picture of him), you don't know how people's lives may be like at the time. Besides, doing what cox has been doing two TdVs in a row makes you rather tired you know, and I don't think anyone likes being publicly called out.

But these are just my two cents.

EX Palen :  As the others have already said, what "dirty tactics" has cox been using, and why would you go and make personal attacks against someone who by the way has never gotten DQ'd from a jersey up to this point? Honestly, the only person who's destroying the competition right now is you. If you wanted to take a public jab at someone, you should've taken a jab at me when I got DQ'd from red and green for using real "dirty tactics" back in Fall 2015 when I won the competition due to everything I had done prior to that incident.

Mynamescox44 : As a former winner of the TDV myself, I know how hard it is to go all out every day of a month to win the TDV. There were days where besides work, I would literally do nothing but make sure that I was getting enough posts, CP actions, CP and words in to get lots of points each day so that I could get enough separation from the pack to win the TDV. It's a mentally tough and exhausting process. At one point in my run at winning the TDV, I started using real dirty tactics in order to keep the lead I had going in the red jersey, which I got DQ'd from as a result, as well as green. You on the other hand not only haven't been disqualified from a jersey, but you've added loads of content to the site in the process, which I'm sure most people can appreciate. If you don't want to compete anymore after all this drama has happened, I understand, but I personally hope that you'll continue to compete in the TDV because even though I stated earlier in the competition that I'd like to see someone new win the competition, it would be pretty lame if that new winner won because some jerk decided to start taking personal jabs at the person who was leading prior to the new winner taking the lead, causing them to not want to compete anymore.

Yesterday was a slow day,  Especially if that meant I was able to place a top spot in at least 3 jerseys.

Wow, I missed a lot. As people like me have said before, Eniitan could catch up to cox and win the rainbow banner, and maybe then this argument will stop. Unless people start to blame her for saying she's only interested in the team competition but winning the rainbow, and they think it's completely on purpose.

There have been many times where users said they were too tired to compete or weren't able to compete. But then they regained motivation or ended up having more time. I've done that before too, and no one complained because I wasn't actually winning anything. The fact that cox has the rainbow banner is probably what's causing this entire discussion. He wasn't lying, he seemed to be just unsure. He's earning his points legitimately like he did when he won before. Plus, the October TdV looks to be just as inactive as it normally is for the most part.

I hope everyone can still enjoy this TdV the best they can. I kind of want to compete but I'm burnt out from having to do homework all day and part of the night yesterday.

Competition was really slow yesterday. I was able to make 10 points with hardly any effort. I probably could've taken both the red and blue jersey yesterday if it weren't for the fact that I started making the majority of my posts at 11PM and 12PM, so I would've been breaking the 50% of all daily words in the last hour rule. I really wish I made more posts throughout the day yesterday so I could snag the yellow and blue jersey without worrying, but there is nothing I can do about that now. Hopefully I can avoid making that mistake today.

Wow, there's only a 2-point gap between 1st and 2nd place now! I haven't seen things be this close in quite a while.

I'm pretty surprised at how slow blue was yesterday. I could've easily snagged that if I had posted earlier that day and could've got the 2 jerseys needed to reach the 100 jersey milestone. Thankfully I was at least able to get green, so now I just need 1 more jersey to reach the 100 jersey milestone!!!

Mynamescox44 : I don't want you to quit. The other competitors need to try harder if they want to win, not whine about it.
We looked into what you were doing and found nothing wrong, unless 

EX Palen : can enlighten us as to what cox was doing that he couldn't do himself. I still don't see what exactly these "dirty tactics" you are talking about are. If there are these kind of tactics being used, then we will look into them after you report them.

Up until now, he hasn't done anything wrong.
And from now on, perhaps you should use the staff DQ thread instead of making a public post accusing someone of impropriety. 

Vanelan : Can you all please stop? Like really we have seen what has happened. It happened and it ended. The last thing we need is to drag it more further for no reason to create more drama. If you want to talk to palen about it I suggest in pm not on the thread since the day of what happened passed. I know it was a real lightning to what happened to Cox on the day a whole lot of drama. All I ask is if anyone else wants to confront palen with his actions to pm him on the board and not here.

And although I wasn't really letting it get me down or anything, I shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss myself from the situation entirely. The main reason for me backing off was to try and keep the negative impact to a minimum, but taking the easy way out probably wasn't the best way to go about it.
