It's hard to believe that it's been 2 1/2 years since I made my 30,000th Post thread but here it is, 40,000 posts! In that thread I predicted I'd hit 50,000 posts within 3 1/2 years which means if my prediction were to be true, I only have around 1 year left to make another 10,000 posts (probably not going to happen).

When I do hit 50,000 posts, I most likely will change my layout again which is what I did when I hit 25,000 posts. I think having a new layout for every 25,000 posts is a good way to celebrate massive milestones. So sorry current layout but your posts are numbered.

When I hit the 30,000 post milestone, my average words per a post was 63 but not it's 70 which means I've increased that by a massive 7 words which is really tough to pull off when you've got a lot of posts.

Now for some quick fun facts: There are 1,282,000+ posts on the site which means I make up around 3% of all the posts on this site. The average amount of posts per a user is a little over 2 posts per a user. The user with the 2nd most posts at the moment is geeogree at 27,456 posts which means I have 12,500+ more posts than the 2nd highest user. I've been a member of this site since day 1 (obviously) which was 4232 days ago (nearly 12 years ago) which means my average posts per a day is about 9 1/2 (which is actually quite low compared to newer users but the site also didn't get the activity back then that it does now days).

Here's a graph that represents how many posts I have made since the beginning based on time of day (central time zone). The very left bar represents posts made between 12 AM and 1 AM and the very right bar represents posts made between 11 PM and 12 AM. So in other words, the very left represents the very beginning of a day and the very end represents the very end of a day.



Milestones for me don't happen very often compared to most users since most of my stats are so high. My next major milestone is 3,000,000 words and I might make a thread dedicated to it but we'll see. I might also make a thread when I hit 5,000 threads but the 3 million words will definitely be sooner.

Congrats! I was wondering if you were going to notice this milestone coming up because I seem to remember reminding you about 30,000.

This is seriously unreal to me. I've seen some high post counts on forums before but I don't know if I've ever seen 40,000.

geeogree : I did notice a while ago that I was getting close but then yesterday I realized just how close I actually was so I had to give myself a reminder not to exceed 40,000 posts before making this milestone thread. It's just not the same when the thread about the milestone isn't the milestone itself.

Yeah I'm probably among a very limited number of users to ever make that many posts on a single forum. Forums either don't stay open that long, don't stay active enough or a user just doesn't stick around a forum long enough to pull that off. It's taken me nearly 12 years afterall. Even your milestone is larger than anything else I've seen on any other forum.

Maybe one day I'll get myself entered into The Guinness Book of World Records: Nerd Edition


greenluigi : I'll probably do something really cool for my 3 Million Words thread. I'll possibly do a video that somehow shows the massive scale of what all 3 million words I've posted looks like.

Ever since I saw you above 39900 posts, I wondered when would you reach this mark. Everyday you kept getting closer to it, and finally the wait has paid off!

Being here for such a long time of course makes major milestones easy, but you still must be on the hook and actually go for them, which requires dedication and hard work. Who else better than you to represent those values.

It would be kind of nice if you could reach 50k by the time Vizzed becomes 15 years old. Not only because the coincidence of major milestones, but also for your layout change, which could use both milestones as theme. It's hard that such timing will be met, but let me dream while I still can

Keep up the pace, David! I totally want to see what could you come up with for your new layout. Doesn't matter how long it takes you, I'll stick around long enough to see it in action enough times to get accustomed to it.

Davideo7 : the only person I know that has more (without actually trying to spend time searching) is "Steve" from vB. Apparently he's been a support person on their forum since the early 2000's and has been helping people get answers to questions there. He's up around 100,000+ posts on that forum.

For a forum like this though I can't imagine anyone breaking 40,000 or even 50,000. If some of the original ACMLM boards were still around and active then maybe some of those could have done it by now but they've all died out.

EX Palen : Being here for a long time I think makes it harder. A user who hits a 50 post milestone, their next milestone is only 100 posts away. I hit 40,000 posts and my next major milestone is 10,000 posts away. A huge difference between 50 posts and 10,000 posts.

I'll definitely pass 50,000 posts before the current board turns 15 years old. Since it took 2 1/2 years to make my last 10,000 posts, it most likely will take another 2 1/2 years to make this next 10,000 posts. So maybe in January of 2019 I'll reach the 50K post milestone and make a new post layout. That seems so long from now but by the time that happens, I'll link to this thread and think "wow, that thread was so long ago" lol.

Most forums don't track word count (Vizzed is the only one I know of) but I know that a lot of users with a lot of posts on most forums usually make a lot of smaller posts. So it's possible that I could have close to as many total post words as "Steve" from vB.

If the original Acmlm Boards were still around then yeah, someone definitely would have exceeded 40,000 posts easily. Most forums just don't last long enough to make it possible unfortunately. And with forums becoming more and more rare, it becomes harder and harder.

I wish I can make you a cake and bring it over for you David. This is a huge achievement! And congrats! I got a word of this by a friend who skyped me before when I went out so I read what he said. And it was to do with you. Anyways words cannot describe how amazing it is that you were able to reach this! It takes amount of years to do that. So hey I wonder who is next to do that? XD

All jokes aside, congratulations on 40K posts! That's an insane amount of posts, and I know that it'll probably be like 20 years until I reach that number (if this board and I'm still around by that time xp). I think I saw someone with 90K+ posts on another board (it was a LGBT friendly board about coming out or whatever. I was only on that site to research object sexuality for school lel), and their posts were not that good tbh.

I look forward to when you finally reach 50K posts . I wonder what new ideas for layouts you'd have then :3.

Davideo7 : I'm not sure whether to congratulate you on 40000 posts or the fact that you've managed to create a forum that's been successful enough to enable you to reach it in the first place. So I'll just congratulate you on both! It was neat seeing some of those funfacts and it really goes to show how long vizzed has been around and active now. I hope to still be here when you reach 50000 so I can look back at this thread and feel like a geezer

I am not surprised that your total is high, considering the number of messages you send per month! However, 40k is quite a milestone; it make an average of about nine posts per day since you founded this website. And I am surprised you have not posted something longer than 4000 words; I guess you want to keep it short an sweet.

I know some people who have gone all the way up to 100K posts on other forums, but after many years, and just getting to 10K is a struggle for some, so 40K is a really nice place to hang out lol. Hopefully 50K can come a bit sooner than you are expecting.

Once you get to 50K, I hope to be closing in 32K.

Yeah. I hate to make another post so soon in here, but oft understated is the role upper management plays on the forums.

For example, you have two restricted forums in your top 5.

I used to have a few restricted forums in the top 5, but I haven't been a mod in 3 years, so I've had no way (or reason why) to post in those forums.
