I have a bunch of Site Staff positions available for anyone interested. Starting next week I plan to hire 10-20 Site Staff members over the course of 2 weeks. If you're interested in joining the staff but wont be available to join until summer break begins, that's fine, just be sure to let us know in your application when you're available to begin.

Microsoft Manager (only 1 role available)
Your job is to add games to the Video Game Room for Microsoft systems when they're released. You'll be responsible for adding content and graphics to the games that you add and your long term goal will be to make sure vizzed has a game page for every game for every Microsoft system.

Toys-to-Life Manager (only 1 role available)
You'd do the same thing as the Microsoft Manager except you'll be focusing on Toys-to-Life products.

Sega Manager (only 1 role available)
You'd do the same thing as the Microsoft Manager except you'll be focusing on Sega systems.

Tech Support (1-3 roles available)
Your responsibility is to help out users with anything related to the Retro Game Room. You'll be in charge of responding to Private Messages sent to the RGR Staff inbox and you'll also be responsible for taking care of problems and issues users have in the RGR forums.

-You must have great knowledge of everything relating to the RGR and the RGR Plugin and you should be very tech savvy (please prove this to us with your response)


Video Game Character Manager (3+ roles available)
Your responsibilities would include any or all of the following:
-Add missing video game characters and missing game franchises to the Video Game Characters feature
-Organize the characters by making sure the current characters are assigned to their proper game franchise
-Add details to game characters that are missing details or have wrong information
-Accept or Decline characters and franchises that regular users request to have added
-Add biographies for video game characters
Requirements:
-You must have submitted 250 screenshots to the site

-You must have 100 total CP points for the 'Screenshot Rated' action (you can find that info here)

Game Guide Writer (3+ roles available)

Your job is to test out games in the Retro Game Room with the RGR Plugin.

MESS Researcher and Configurator (1-2 roles available)
Your job is to help us figure out which games and systems work in the RGR Plugin using the built in MESS emulator. You'll be in charge of helping configure MESS supported games and systems in order to get them to work. You'll be given resources and instructions on how to go about this.

-Some RGR Plugin knowledge


Screenshot Adder (2-3 roles available)
Your job is to find games missing screenshots and to fill in screenshots for those games.
Requirements:
-You must have submitted 250 screenshots to the site

Video Adder (2-3 roles available)
Your job is to record gameplay videos of games in the RGR, preferably for games that don't have any videos.

Additional Requirements (each position also requires the following)
-Willing to invest 5-10 hours into the site each week for each of your roles

You may apply to more than 1 position which increases your chances of getting hired (or if you pick positions that not many users picked) but you'll only be given 1 role to start out with but you can take on more if you're interested later on.

I was beginning to wonder when the staff apps would be back. I think you'll want to add Price Guide Manager to the list, because right now we don't have any on staff.

I was wondering when would the apps come out. For a moment, I thought I would be seeing them right after coming home from one of my finals in early June to give me a bit of good news for the day

gamerforlifeforever2 : The reason there's no Price Guide Manager role is because the script that is in charge of retrieving ebay listings hasn't worked in almost 1 1/2 years which means no new ebay listings are being added to the site which makes it unnecessary to have anyone do that role at the moment. What I've been instead doing is every few months I purchase a price guide from PriceCharting.com and then I batch add all of the prices to Vizzed.

I'll hire Price Guide Managers again once I get the script working again. The reason it stopped working in the first place was because of Ebay changing the way they handle listings that have ended.


EX Palen : Actually I prefer the title Game Guide Writer so I'll go ahead and rename that in my post.

IMPORTANT TO APPLICANTS: 
I just want to say a few things about some of these positions. Please make sure you are serious before applying, or you may get picked, not really want to do it, and steal the position from someone else. 

First of all is Microsoft manager. If anyone is wondering about this position, its not easy. There is a lot you will have to do, I was the previous one working this job and had to step down from the role because of the work load. If you don't have much time, this role is not for you. 

Tech support is also not easy. I will be very picky with this job, and if I haven't seen you helping people, don't apply with too much hope. We do NEED people for this role as it gets backed up in the inbox and we need people, I know a few people good for the role.

Game tester is harder than you think and much more boring depending on the system. You have to test at least 111 games a month, which isn't too hard, but you have to know what you are doing.

Video Adder- I have submitted 37 videos to the site, and really do want to make some more. Again, I meet all of the requirements. 

Barathemos : While I support your comments on Game Tester and Tech Support, I don't totally agree with your comments on Microsoft Manager. I'm a System Manager myself, and I'm not under the impression it's as time taxing as you say. Probably my judgement is altered because I'm also a Game Guide Writer, which is incredibly time taxing, but I still have to disagree with you.

As David expressed, 5-10 hours a week is the standard for staff members to dedicate towards their role(s). I truly believe that 10 hours is more than enough for Microsoft Manager, even more considering it doesn't have that many systems compared to the rest of System Managers. It may need more hours depending on how effectively you do your work, over the months I've learned to optimize the time I dedicate into Sony managing so I'm confident others can do it as well.

Even if I disagree with you there, I must admit it really isn't an easy job, but the key to master it is constant work, since new games are being released every week. We've seen a big amount of staff stepping down from System Managers because they got overburnt with this constant work, after all, but I'm confident we can find someone willing to tackle this role head on.

The reasons I feel like I would be the right candidate for Screenshot Adder are because I've been adding screenshots on the site since I started becoming active on the site. Whenever a new game or hack gets added to the RGR, or if I see a game that's been on the RGR for awhile that has no screenshots, I always try to add some to those games so that the game page has some screenshots on it. I'm currently 2nd all time in total screenshots with nearly 12,000 screenshots added to the site, and I'm not planning to stop adding screenshots to the site anytime soon.

I believe I'd be the right candidate for the Video Game Music Manager position because I've already added hundreds of songs to the site, and I really enjoy browsing through and rating the playlists and songs. I'm as passionate about video game music as I am about the games themselves. Thank you for taking me into consideration for these staff roles.

Davideo7 : I would like to apply to be a Video Adder.

I meet the video requirement with 50 videos, most of them being for games that didn't have videos to begin with. On a good schedule I could get multiple 1 hour videos a day or more. I also plan on getting a capture card for my 3DS which will allow me to record and post 3DS game videos to the site which will be very good. My school year is almost over as well which means more time to record videos which will be 40 minutes to an hour at minimum. I am also a trusted member and have never been banned once if that counts.

For a table on the benefits I have, here they are.

+ Video's are at least 40 minutes to an hour.
+ Going to get a 3DS capture card for 3DS Gameplay Videos.
+ School Year ending June 3rd meaning more time to upload
+ Can meet the Hour Requirement
+ Trustworthy due to Trusted Position and never been banned.

I'm going to apply for the Video Game Music Manager spot. A couple of reasons I feel this spot would fit me best, is because besides Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, video game music is the type of music I listen to the most. I am very passionate when it comes to video game music. I feel that besides posting, I get (or will get, since it's kind of new) most of my CP from the video game music room already anyway. Getting this position will just motivate me to go over to that area of the site and do more actions. I download lots of music from video games onto my computer anyway, and then uploading those files into other programs, so I also have a bit of experience with sound files and the like. Well I'm going to go ahead and here are my applications! Good luck everyone~ I'm applying mostly for positions I know I will be able to do and positions that I'm interested in for career choices and things I love to do hobby wise. Since Ultimate season is just ending and since I only have school on Mondays and Wednesdays I have lot's of time to work on staff duties. I intend on keeping that specific staff role for at least a year minimum if I can.

Video Adder: I think why I would be a good candidate for the position of Video adder is because I've been recording and adding game play, music, and other types of gaming videos to Vizzed and it's youtube channel for a long time. I love showing my game content to everyone whenever I can, and I always try to play games and show content that not only interests me but my viewers that will be apart of the videos I make. Today I have a total of 78 videos added to Vizzed and the youtube channel, and I have accumulated way over 100 cp (made 324.0) from my videos being rated positively, as I always try to find content that my audience will enjoy and get them involved whenever I can. And if there are different routes you can take in a game I try to record everything possible ending or route you can take, to show all the perspectives the game can offer you.

Screenshot Adder: I find I would be a good choice for Screenshot adder since that's mostly what I do when I play a game, is try to make as many memories of the game as I can. I have over 899 screenshots added to Vizzed games at the moment and I'm still adding more when I can. I'm thinking of every stopping taking screenshots of games I play either.

Video Game Character Manager: Characters are my favourite part of a video game, due to their personalities and how they are made. I have exceeded every requirement needed except for 100 CP from screenshot rated, but I'm almost at the required amount. Characters are also one of the things I mainly focus on and take pictures of. 

Review Writer: Making reviews as I've said is one of my favourite activities especially since it allows me to show such a strong opinion and show all the bad and good points of a game that I found, so everyone know pros and cons to know whether they might also enjoy the game. I meet all the requirements needed and here are two I made. I always try to make my reviews contain as much content as possible, I'll even take notes while playing a game so I can reference it later in the review if needed. I've had many positive remarks about my different writing and reviewing style from others, I also have 10 of my reviews featured. I'm still trying to find more things about games I can review as everyone of my reviews have been getting more and more categories to talk about, so someone who hasn't played that game can learn almost every basic thing they need to know about the game based on it's flaws and pros, it's beginning storyline and how the battle system works, etc.

Video Game Music Manager: I meet all the required needs for this spot, and I'm a big music buff it's one of the things I enjoy and love the most. I enjoy all genres of music and I won't stop loving music. I don't think I could get tired of this position ever, because in video games if I enjoy the song I will purposely pause or stay in the place just to listen to the song 5 times more. And I always try to participate in the music competitions when I can so I'm searching and rating through songs on many of the systems just for fun and seeing what I love.

General Requirements:
-I have been trusted for a few years now and never lost it.
- I have never been banned.
- I am turning 16 in like 2 months so I'm over the required age of 13. 
- I will most definitely be able to invest at least 5-10 each week into my given role.

I would like to be staff, so as to help Vizzed grow even more with more and newer content, as to show everyone that it's a great and fun site and there are so many different things you can do. 


I can begin right away, just in July I will be on and off so I'll work extra harder to compensate for that.

Why I'm good at this job? Well I look at every detail of the game and test everything. I rarely do any guide since 80% of the games here are easily beatable but I will find one that will need a guide than just spamming easy guide tips. I don't have anything to do this summer and collage for me easy (art student looking to get a job in the gaming industry) so there's not much problems with doing the guide review.

I would like to apply for 2 positions. These 2 positions are the most appealing to me, and the ones where I believe I can do the best job at, compared to the rest of the positions. I'd like to apply for Tech Support and Review Writer. 

Tech Support: First of all, I'm a trusted member, so that's one requirement checked off. Also, I'm pretty tech savvy. I was always good with computers, and technology in general, and being online schooled for 2 years only helped that. I have decent knowledge about the RGR and the plugin, and if I'm selected, I'm willing to learn more if I need to. I know this wasn't necessarily a requirement for this position, but I'm pretty nice and helpful to others. I've helped quite a few people having issues with the plugin back in my "RGR-only" days.

I'd like to apply for tech support. A lot of you might remember that I was once tech support as well as Sony manager, so I do have experience.

Also when I was no longer tech support, I still continued to help people with their technical issues.

I have all the time in the world to spend on vizzed, even during school.

I have a functioning computer as well as 2 or 3 other devices I can use to get online and help people with.

I've been trusted for a long time now, and I'm 15 years old. Turning 16 in 3 days, too. Coincidentally I got promoted to staff on my birthday last time, so I wonder if that's also a possibility this time around

As of now, I have a fairly well functioning computer and a decently reliable connection, so I'd be able to start pretty much immediately.

I'd like to apply for VGM Manager. As long as the sites I'm downloading from are provided, I'm sure I can manage keeping the VGM tidy and add content. Most of my actual collection is ps2, and the ps2 section of the VGM room is almost empty. Just going over the titles I own will give me enough work for a while.

I'm a trusted member, I'll be 20 in June, I've never been banned and I have plenty of free time. I could likely spend more than 3 hours a day. If there are any questions about my recent spell of inactivity, it was because I didn't have a charger for my laptop.

EDIT: As long as the soundtracks aren't huge, I could probably add content with an android phone as well, should anything unfortunate happen with my current desktop setup.

I'd like to apply for review write and game tester, I'm capable of both at once and it'd allow me to test and then review a game. I've been writing semi professionally for about a year and a half now and I have a computer capable of running any RGR game with ease. If you'd like to see any of my reviews be my guest but bear in mind they're somewhat poorly written in comparison to the quality I'd be writing now and I will not use them as an example of promised work. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

If I only get one of these positions that's fine, but I'd have to work on both roles to be efficient anyway as I take notes while testing, so if I become a tester there is no reason for me to not also review. And if I am a review writer testing games would allow me to find new games that have not yet been reviewed on site, so it's a rather automatic multitask.

I've wanted a source of Viz lately anyway and this is the perfect chance.

I'd also apply for tech support but I'd need someone to teach me about the RGR itself due to my inexperience.

   I would like to apply for the Screenshot Adder position. The reason I think I would be a good fit for this position is usually I take screenshots of games and then decide to add them if I deem them good enough. Adding screenshots to games that do not have screenshots also makes me optimistic to see what games are out there not yet seen by many people. I also almost always fill out screenshots completely before I post them. I have 693 screenshots currently which is well over the needed amount and my "Screenshot Rated" action has given me around 170CP. I have been on this site for around three years which I feel has given me enough time to know the community quite well.

My computer right now can play all games on the site but I cannot add screenshots for games outside the site usually but I can rarely. I could add screenshots to everything expected and a little bit more because of the Playstation item.

 I can probably keep the position for a long time as well since I have almost the whole day of free time during summer and I still have a bunch of free time outside of Summer.
 
   My second option would have to be the Video Game Characters Manager. I fulfill all of the requirements for this position as well and the reason I chose this one is because I always have been intrigued by the Video Game Character feature on this site in general. I always add characters to my screenshots so I know when some characters are missing and need added. Another reason I have chosen this position is because the new character biography feature seems really interesting to me and I would like to try to write some biographies for characters. Writing biographies for characters also seems rather overlooked by everyone at the moment.
 
If I got chosen for any of these I would be able to begin as soon as I got it.

Davideo7 : I would like to apply for the screenshot adder position,the reason why I am interested in becoming a screenshot  adder is because I have a lot of experience in taking and submitting screenshots,since I joined here almost 4 years ago I have taken over 6,000 screenshots and my CP count is 23860.0 to this day I continue to take and submit screenshots which is something I enjoy doing,I also feel that since I come on Viz everyday I would have no problem putting in the required hours for the job.if I was to get this position I feel that it would not only be a great way to meet people but I would also be able to help out in the Viz community

I was wondering about those Sega and Microsoft systems that might eventually be added. Does this mean that if anything Microsoft is added that people that are only staff will be able to play it, or will you just release a very expensive item that allows us to play it like the Playstation item. Also, will you ever add DS or Gamecube games or is that a different legal thing compared to the systems on the site now. It would be really beneficial if Xbox ever arrived on this site.... I can't seem to find a offline emulator and sources keep telling me that they don't exist!
