No but if it really did happened I would probably go into a state of mourning like someone really close to you died since Pokemon is such a big part of my life right now.

Don't really care. Anyone who has seen me talk about Pokemon here knows that my opinion is that 1 generation is the only one that matters. Everything else has just been the same game over and over and over. They don't 'evolve' enough. So I only care about the 1st gen games, which will still be here even after the company shuts down. Which it will, eventually. No getting around it. No fad lasts forever.

Well it matters, i would care a lot if they closed recently. But if they had like 20 Gen i probably wouldn't care as much as i would now

mourinhosgum : Naw, I don't even pay attention to the designs. I just never saw any reason to keep up when each game is pretty much the exact same thing every time. Couldn't give two spits of an opinion on their designs. The games just don't change enough for me to have a reason to play beyond gen one.

If you ever do decide to try another pokemon game try Gen 3 as it is by far the best Gen.

Well I can see where rcarter is coming from, even if it did shut down, we are still left with 6 generations worth of pokemon games to play, most of which are already on vizzed. I like gens 1,2, and 3 the best and after then it has gradually started to go downhill from there. You can only keep people interested in something for so long, the story doesn't really change drastically, and the pokemon are just getting weirder and if it goes any further, you are going to end up with a bunch of everyday objects as pokemon instead. 


As much as I generally like pokemon, I don't think it would be too bad if it shut down because there are so many games they have left us with that we can enjoy. Good question though.

I would huddle in a corner and cry because in my opinion pokemon has not started going down hill at all. The new pokemon are way better then some of the old ones like gen 6 i cannot think of 1 bad pokemon. Gen 1 however you have muk, magneton, and dugtrio.

I assume by "What if Pokemon shuts down" you mean What if Gamefreak (developer of Pokemon) stops making the games and The Pokemon company's contract with cartoon network doesn't get renewed for another season, how would this affect me and how would I react. Well I really wouldn't care. Pokemon has become incredibly repetitive, the Pokemon Sprite designs are about as unoriginal as it could get, they can't even think up decent names for the Pokemon anymore. The Story line/plot of Pokemon has been run into the ground and have been repeated one to many times. Honestly I don't see a purpose to even continuing Pokemon, everyone knows the story and whats going to happen, each game/season the only difference is the region,they usually add about 50-90 new Pokemon and throw in some of the pokemon from older generations, and characters(besides Ash, which his Pikachu should be level 100 by now). But I don't see an ending to Pokemon anytime soon though because People still pay for the cards, games and cartoon seasons and are dumb enough not to realize that they have been basically paying for the same game,cards etc. over and over again just with a few minor updates.

Naturally most of the younger fans with disagree with everything I just said, but honestly go back to the original Pokemon cartoon series, cards, games and see if you can't see the obvious repetitive themes. But then again the younger early 2000's children were brought up on the newer generation of Pokemon (and by today's standards which are pretty low) I could see why they would see this new generation of Pokemon as great and would miss it if it was gone.

Every Pokémon game repeats itself so I think it's only a good thing if they stop making those games.. Same goes with the TV show every season is basically the same, different place and different pokémon's but still the story is the same old.

I would probably remain indifferent. Pokémon was a very large part of my childhood, it got me started on Anime, as well as games in general. My friend introduced me to Pokémon when we became best friends in Kindergarten, and it has been a big part since. However, as time has gone by, I have started to like it less and less, and have pretty much gone beyond caring at all since Diamond and Pearl came out. The shows past the first two leagues were awful, though origins is pretty sweet. Although, I do not think anyone has to worry about Game Freak shutting down though, Pokémon is still going strong and all the little kids and the sheep of the world will continue to buy it for as long as the games come out, so they will likely keep pumping out games for as long as they possibly can (which is probably at least two more games).
