Over the past 2 weeks I've done a lot of updates to the Retro Game Room and the Video Game Room. Below you can find links relating to what I've done and what I plan to do.

The New Vizzed Experience and Why It's Necessary
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=89049

FYI: The site tends to get slow at around 3 AM - 7 AM (central time) due to search engine bot traffic.

Around 10 hours ago the PLAY GAME links on the game pages stopped working for some users. They should be fixed now.

This is something that happened from an update I made to the new game pages which will hopefully go live sometime today.

If you have any questions, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=89282

Does your stream need a boost in traffic? Help me out and I'll help you out in this limited offer!

Here's what I'm offering
Your stream will display in all of the pages of the RGR (excluding game pages) for 2 hours which should drive lots of traffic to your stream during that time. You should be able to see a boost in traffic of up to 50 viewers at a time! You could potentially get a lot of followers as well if your stream is entertaining enough and if you involve your viewers in some way.

Twitch and Hitbox streamers both qualify for this offer. However, for Twitch streamers, I'll also host your channel on my channel during the 2 hours which could potentially get some of my viewers to check out your channel. I've got 355 followers so it could help. You can find my channel here: http://www.twitch.tv/davideo7

Restrictions
The times available for you to choose from include any weekday at any time between 1 PM and 1 AM central time. You should give me a notice at least 4 hours in advance (or 12 if your notice takes place between 1 AM and 10 AM central time). This is also first come first serve so if someone claims a time slot before you, you'll have to pick a different time slot.

Requirements
To qualify for this offer, you must play netplay games for the entire 2 hours. You can netplay any game but if possible, I'd prefer it if users netplayed PlayStation and/or MAME games during their stream but you can netplay anything if you want. You can either netplay with viewers, with friends or with anyone willing to join you.

You also need to have the play game frame displayed while you're streaming. The frame shows that the game is being played on vizzed and is self advertisement and the frame also shows people in the chat that you're playing with.

Viz Cost
It'll cost 20,000 Viz to have your stream promoted for 2 hours so you'll want to send that to me from my profile. You can have your stream promoted up to 2 times but if you choose to have it promoted a 2nd time, it'll cost 50,000 Viz. Normally I'd charge way more Viz for this since it basically takes away from ad revenue but since it involves promoting the RGR and netplay, I'm willing to take a loss.

Benefits of Streaming RGR Games
Beyond this offer, there are plenty of benefits to streaming RGR games.

First of all you can earn 3-9 CP and 600-1800 Viz for each hour your stream (depending on your partnership level) and even more if you have a higher CP multiplier. More information can be found on this page: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/contributionpoints.php

Second of all, any time you're streaming an RGR game, your stream will be promoted on the RGR search pages (in that scrolling content area) and also on the stream page. Streaming non-RGR games will also do this for you as well but users who are streaming RGR games get a higher priority over those who don't (which means that if many users are streaming, the RGR game streamers will have their stream shown).

Get Your Stream Added to Vizzed
If you haven't had your stream added to vizzed yet, you can do so by sending me 1000 Viz and responding to this thread: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=69017

I'm hoping this offer helps out those who stream RGR games and also helps promote the netplay features on vizzed. If you have any questions or want to take advantage of this offer, please let me know here:

Djinn8345 (aka lilwildwolf) and I are childhood friends but he moved pretty far away a few years ago so we haven't seen each other since. He's coming back down to our childhood town (where I still live) this week so we thought it'd be fun for him to come over to my house and play some local multiplayer games and stream ourselves doing so. He'll also be bringing his cousin Foxyman1113 with to join in on the fun and this will be the first time him and I have ever met in person.

We'll be mainly focusing on local multiplayer games that vizzed doesn't support netplay on to take advantage of the fact that we'll all be hanging out in real life. Systems will include the Sega Saturn and the Sega Dreamcast and games will include Saturn Bomberman and others. I have the VGA Box for my Dreamcast and I also have a SCART cable and adapter for my Saturn so I'll be able play and output those in HD. If you want recommend a game from my personal game collection for us to play, go here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/profile.php?id=1

The stream will be on Saturday, 8/1/2015, and will begin at 2:30 PM central time. It will be streamed here:

(be sure to follow so you don't forget)

Sign up now to our annual Tecmo Super Bowl tournament. I know our Team tournament just began a few weeks ago but the Tecmo Super Bowl tournaments last the longest of all the tournaments I hold each year since it lasts as long as the NFL season. This year it'll be 4 weeks longer because this time it will begin when the NFL's preseason begins which is August 13th.

Previous Winners:
2014 Winner: MattyIce
2013 Winner: boomer1709
2012 Winner: thubtengendun0

This tournament will last for 24 weeks. The first 4 games will determine who advances into the regular games (I use this to weed out those who don't participate) and it'll also help determine who plays who during the regular games. The next 16 games are regular games and will be used to determine who goes to the elimination rounds. The last 4 games are the elimination rounds and the last round of course is the final matchup which is our Super Bowl.

Since 'Tecmo Super Bowl 2016' wont be released when this tournament begins, we'll be using 'Tecmo Super Bowl 2015' for the first 4 weeks and then we'll be using 'Tecmo Super Bowl 2016' once the regular season begins.

Requirements:
-You must live in the United States (unless you have had very little lag problems playing netplay with USA users)
-The RGR Plugin must work fine on your computer, especially for Nintendo NES games
-If you're on the ban list, you cannot enter. To see who is on the ban list, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=60334

Prizes:
1st = 250,000 Viz
2nd = 100,000 Viz
3rd = 50,000 Viz

Signup ends and tournament begins on Thursday, August 13th.

If you want to enter, simply respond to this thread:

What RGR Plugin Features Do You Want?
The plugin developer is willing to work on the plugin for a little while longer but his time with the plugin is running out so if we're going to get any more updates, it needs to be soon and needs to be funded ASAP. To help me prioritize what should be added, please vote in the poll in this thread (multi-voting is enabled) and also feel free to respond with any feedback.

Benefits of Donating
-Access to PlayStation games with the PlayStation item for 50,000 Viz
-Access to beta systems including Dreamcast games with the Beta Test Ticket for 10,000 Viz
-Faster game downloads with the Game Accelerator for 15,000 Viz
-And many other features obtainable from the site's Item Shop

Donate to Help Fund New Updates!
Getting updates added to the RGR Plugin is not cheap for me. I've invested around $25,000+ into the RGR Plugin over the course of about 4 years. The site is struggling pretty bad financially at the moment so if you'd like to help us get new features added then please consider donating! Every little bit helps, whether it be $10 or $100, donate whatever you can whenever you can. Not only will your donations help us get new features but you'll also receive lots of site benefits as well (such as access to more games, access to more systems, faster download speeds, etc).

If you're interested in donating toward the RGR Plugin, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/donations.php

If you can't afford to donate money, you can donate games as seen here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=58552

Or if you can't donate anything, you can help out in other ways as seen here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=78350

Breakdown of all the possible new features if we get enough donations

More Systems to support Video Recording
Most of the game systems on vizzed allow you to press a single button and record your gameplay but not every system support it. N64, Sega CD and a few others don't currently support it.

Ability to have 2 plugin instances at the same time
This would allow you to have 2 instances of the RGR Plugin open at the same time. Now it would require a fast computer to have 2 instances open at the same time but this would basically allow you and another user to see eachother's games. You'd be playing in your game in your instance and you'd be able to see their game in their instance. This would be great for if you want to play through a single player game with someone else, show someone how to do something or race each other to see who can beat the game the fastest in real time.

Add DOS Games
This would allow us to add those old PC games known as DOS games. So basically most PC games released between 1981 and 1995 (and some between 1995-2000) would be capable of being added to the site.

Upgraded Plugin Architecture for External System Loading
This Plugin architecture upgrade would allow the plugin to load systems on demand. This would allow the plugin to be only 1 MB and basically each time you play a system for the first time, that systems files would download when you go to play that game. The huge benefit to this would be that it'd allow us to update systems without having to need another plugin upgrade since it'd simply re-download the system when it gets updated.

More Systems
What additional systems would you like to see added?

Google Chrome Support
Google Chrome is slowly moving away from NPAPI plugins (and doesn't support it with the default settings) which is the type of plugin the RGR Plugin is. While it is possible to make the RGR Plugin work in Google Chrome as seen here, the upcoming September update to Google Chrome will eliminate NPAPI plugins completely. The solution is to have the plugin upgraded to PPAPI but that is a difficult upgrade to do which would be time consuming and would ultimately cost me a lot of money. In order to make this possible, I'd need at least $500 worth of donations.

If you have any questions or feedback or want to vote on which features you'd like to see added to the RGR Plugin, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=87980

Summer 2015 Netplay Tournament: Teams = Win $100!
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=88110

The tournament has been postponed by a week since we still don't have enough users to sign up. If anyone is at all interested, please sign up. If you don't have a team, you can still sign up and I'll make a team for you. Keep in mind that this tournament doesn't have a set time or day that you do your matchup, you and your weekly opponent each week will come up with a time that works best for both teams.

Some of the games we'll be playing include:
Playstation:
-Bomberman World
-Micro Machines V3
-Crash Bash

Turbo Grafx:
-Bomberman '94
-Final Match Tennis
-Moto Roader

Super Nintendo:
-Micro Machines 2 - Turbo Tournament
-Tiny Toon Adventures - Wacky Sports Challenge
-Super Bomberman 4 (English Translation)

Pretty much anyone can join the tournament. If you don't own the PlayStation item, you can still join the tournament since you do not need the PlayStation item to join PlayStation netplay sessions. It's a great way for those who don't have it to get in on some PlayStation action!

Shenmue III has been a game that fans like myself have been waiting for since 2001 (2002 for Xbox owners) so when it was announced that it'll be coming out and will be backed by Kickstarter funding, that was a very big deal. The Kickstarter page ends in 2 weeks and so I had some fun ideas to celebrate Shenmue III finally being a reality and to bring attention to the series hoping that more people become fans of the game.

All versions of Shenmue I & II Available to Everyone for 0 Viz
Shortly after Dreamcast games were added to Vizzed, I made all of the Shenmue games cost 0 Viz because I really want everyone to experience the game. Just now I also made it so that you no longer need the Beta Test Ticket (which costs 10,000 Viz) to play the games. The reason that Dreamcast games currently require a Beta Test Ticket is because the games haven't all been tested yet and when I introduce new features to the site, they go into a beta state until they've been fully tested.

Earn Double CP & Viz for Submitting Content to the Shenmue game pages
For the next 2+ weeks, or until July 20th, you'll earn twice the CP and Viz when you submit content to any of the Shenmue game pages (Walkthroughs will qualify longer).

Affected actions include:
-Review
-Screenshot Submission
-Video Submission
-Walkthrough (double CP & Viz until August 1st)
-Game Content and Game Content Request
-Game Streaming (may not work properly)

Additional actions affected include: Game Rated, Graphic Adding, Moving Ebay Listing, Removing Ebay Listing, Review Rating, Screenshot Edit, Screenshot Rating, Video Edit and Video Rating.

Shenmue Games on Vizzed
Below are all of the versions of Shenmue we have on the site. The above updates apply to all of these versions.

Shenmue
Shenmue (recommended)
This is the version of Shenmue that everyone in the United States grew up playing. If you don't plan to play Shenmue II on vizzed or don't care about transferring your save file, then play this version.

Shenmue (PAL)
This is the version of Shenmue that was released in the UK. I'm not sure what the differences are with this version but the only reason you'd want to play this version instead of the US release is so that you can transfer your save file from Shenmue I to Shenmue II. I'm pretty sure that with both versions of Shenmue II on vizzed you can load your Shenmue I save file so that you can transfer items you've collected.

Shenmue II
Shenmue II (English Translation) (recommended)
This is the PAL version except in English. Basically someone ripped the audio from the Xbox version of Shenmue II (which was in English) and dumped it into this version so that anyone can experience Shenmue II in full English on the Dreamcast.

Shenmue II (PAL)
Shenmue II was never actually released in the United States so the only way to play Shenmue II was either by importing it or by playing it on the Xbox. This version is in Japanese with English subtitles.
