Welcome everyone to the very first Netplay Tournament on Vizzed, hopefully this goes well (and if it does, I'll continue doing these). 52 users have entered this Tournament, including myself. There will be a total of 7 games and it'll go on until February 4th.

You will all play 4 games and the top 2 teams from each division goes on to play each other in the playoffs (there will be 4 divisions so that means 8 teams will go to the playoffs). The winner of that round will play the winner of another division and eventually we'll be down to 2 teams which will play each other for a Super Bowl game.

Video recording wont be required for the regular games but for the playoff games, every game needs to be recorded, either by one of the teams playing or a spectator (yes you are allowed to have spectators watch your game but be warned that they could cause lag to your game). The plugin supports video recording so you're free to record you session either using the plugin or an external program and than upload your video to vizzed youtube account or your own but it will be required during playoffs. I also hope to get our Super Bowl (final game) live streamed.

Instead of "weeks", we'll be using the term "rounds" since each game will have a 3 day window. This means that when I assign you to play someone, you and that user have 3 days to find a time to play each other. Once you've played each other, you must report to the Round thread who won and what the score was (I'll make a new thread for each round). If both teams fail to play each other within the 3 day time frame, than both teams will get a tie.

As you all should know by now, in this Tournament we'll be using Tecmo Super Bowl 2013 (TecmoBowl.org hack). For this time during this tournament, anyone will be able to create a netplay session (normally only certain users can create a netplay session). Whoever is listed as the 'Home' team is the user who hosts the session and that user is also the user who gets to pick their team first.

It is recommended that you play on the sonikku server since that's the best server. If you're interested in hosting your own server, you must be a Trusted member and you can find the details on how to do that here.

Within the game, you'll be playing Preseason using the default rules (5 Minute Quarters). Of course, no cheating of any sort is allowed. Remember, it's your responsibility to Private Message your opponents and figure out a time to meet each other on the Netplay session page so that you can play your matchup.

Seems like there are a lot of games being played tonight. I'm glad that participation is so high right now. I still haven't heard back from my 1st round opponent though hopefully I do soon. I am excited to start playing!

Jordanv78 : It's pretty exciting, it's always fun to see people doing netplay. I saw a lot of people doing "preseason" and "practice" matches earlier today.

Crazy Li : Yeah I'm very pleased with the participation. A lot of the users are non posting users so maybe this tournament will encourage them to start posting.

So basically Round 1-4 will show you all the players you'll be playing against. I made it so everyone has 2 home games and 2 away games. I also made it so that you play at least 1 person from each division (except your own).

Jordanv78 : I had a lot of bad luck in my 1st game during the 1st quarter. Missed the extra point, accidentally kicked a short kick right afterward (and my opponent ran it in for a touchdown off the kick) and when I got the ball back, my player fumbled it. The first 2 things were sorta my fault but yeah, anything can happen.

This league is going a lot better than I expected so I'll definitely be doing another Tournament after this one.

My opponent never responded to my PM. If he fails to respond does that mean I win?

And I'll make sure that the score is 99-0 in that case

megamanmaniac : If he never responds, you win. The score would just be 0-0 though.

I presume that scores matter for seeding as well?

megamanmaniac : Yeah your net points will be used for breaking a tie.
