I'm curious as to whom everyone seeks out when they need advice. If you're not sure how to deal with a friend at school or if you want to know if a girl/guy likes you, who do you ask?

Do you rely on family? Friends? Teachers or bosses?

Do you just go to the internet and see what everyone has to say there?

Who do you rely on for answers to your questions and problems?

That's kind of tough to answer, but I think it depends on the situation. Normally I'd consult myself with any problems I may have as weird as that may seem. Who better to help me out with my problem than my own mind right? As for dealing with the opposite sex, I usually ask my friend her advice on the matter simply cause she knows me best and since she is a women. Its more 80% me and 20% her. Yet, I have started to try and branch out to online people for simple stuff just to see what they have to say, like this for example

I agree with Hanzo, I think it depends on the situation. If it's a major decision and something my parents have input on, I obviously would go to them. If it's a girl problem, I go to a trusted irl friend, or a good online friend. If it's something related to sports, then I ask my coach/ coaches and potentially watch videos on YouTube. The internet (some places) offers good advice for certain situations, but if you want specifics, it's better to ask someone you know. I know this isn't traditional "advice", but praying (if you're religious) is a good thing to do when a big decision has to be made. It may a take a little while, but God will ultimately help you with making your decision.

For a long time, I would come here for advice, because of how many different kinds of people there are, there's usually someone who knows more about a topic than most people that you might know in real life, and it's easy to get a bunch of different opinions, then going to say, family members, who would usually give biased answers.

When it comes to specific advice about health, food, things that may not be too emotionally involved then, I used the Internet and try to find credible sources, people's experiences, and I come here and either read old threads or start one. For anything emotional. I stay off the Internet. and try to go to people that know me, get their opinion, and ultimately give thought to what I want and how I feel then pray and go for it. I think the Internet has made things like this much easier with all of the endless information at our fingertips.

Typically, I'll go to whoever I perceive to have a fair amount of experience on whatever topic it is. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave me with a lot of options because I don't know a lot of people offline. I also, for the most part, try not to take someone's word for it if an answer doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I try to take everyone's thoughts into account because I believe I can get a better view of the bigger picture that way. There are always at least two sides to every story, and then there's the truth.

As far as dating goes, it's never been an issue for me as I've never actively pursued any kind of a romantic relationship. Never been kissed, never been on a date, nothing like that. I have a really hard time trusting anyone who tries to get really, really close to me in that way. Makes me question their motives.

Offline I'll talk to my sister about things bothering me but she doesn't ever have advice for me. If I need immediate attention I'll call my mom but I don't tell her stuff that just bums me out and all more like "I'm on the side of the highway come help me mommy" I'm too scared of confrontation with my step dad so I don't really ask him for advice unless it's like about jobs. 
I don't go out of my way to tell irl friends things unless it's brought to their attention or is a big deal.

Most of the time I don't honestly. As far as academics go I'm already studying at a higher level than anyone in my close family have so I can't rely on them for help. I usually go to a teacher if I need help with a specific subject, other than that I rely mostly on myself to find answers or searching on the Internet. I don't really have anyone close to me out of the limited people I know, that I'd feel comfortable talking about other life problems so I end up mostly just keeping that to myself and using my own judgement. I have a goal of where I want to be in life in terms of school and my physical health  so I'm working towards that. Anything that doesn't have to do with that like having a relationship, I've started to treat as secondary until I get to that point.
