Christmas Day was going very well until the evening. Out of nowhere, my Dad was short of breath, and he had to be taken to the hospital. At first, doctors said he had a heart attack, but then they said it wasn't a heart attack, and instead he had a blood clot in his lungs... He was in the hospital until last night. I was so worried for the last few days, but I'm so thankful that he didn't pass away and he's now out of the hospital.

OMG.....I do hope that he is ok. I really am sorry that this happened. Things like that is something we wouldn't want happening to our families. I will be praying for his speedy recovery. All hope is not lost gamer.

That's rough. Glad to hear that he is doing okay. I can't imagine losing someone on Christmas day.

We had something similar happen in July, where my mom had 4 minor strokes at once due to a blood clot in her brain, so I know how you feel. Definitely one of the most scary moments of my life, we rushed her to the hospital right away.

Having it happen on Christmas just makes it worse, though. I'm really sorry this happened to your dad, I'm praying for his speedy and complete recovery!

Anyways, my Dad went to see the doctor the other day, and thankfully he was able to go back to work sooner than expected, today in fact. Things are starting to get back to normal, and I'm hoping that nothing like this happens for as long as possible.

I'm so glad your dad is already doing well enough to head back to work! I'll continue praying that he continues to recover!

My mom hasn't gotten better, it's been somewhere around three years now that she's been chronically ill (and we've never gotten a diagnosis). Thankfully it doesn't look like anything that'll be serious long-term, and we're learning more and more about what sets off her condition (whatever it is), so she's able to feel better by cutting most foods out of her life.

As for the strokes, she's mostly recovered, though she's got some memory issues that have stuck with her ever since. They're supposedly going to return eventually, not sure when though.
