Right now, it looks like it wasn't an act of terrorism, but it hasn't been ruled out completely. One person was killed, and a bunch were injured. The woman did this with her 3 year old daughter in the back seat. What could've caused her to do something so terrible?

Maybe she had not received her child support check,maybe she snapped,I would say put a bullet in her head and put the kid in the state's custody.

She probably had been playing Grand Theft Auto.

That's pretty sad. But it makes you to think food of thought about why. And it really makes you to wonder...maybe she wasn't thinking straight at the time and didn't realize what she did. Until it was over. I really feel bad for the person that got killed though. '-'

saw this on youtube yesterday. dude was sitting at home playing fallout 4 when some woman drives a car through his house. and guess what, pretty much no punishment dealt to the driver while the victim (note: NOT the female driver) was nearly killed by her actions.

not saying all women are like this as that'd be a stupid assumption to make but...this minimal punishment for things like this is a trend that needs to be nipped in the bud asap.

saw a video from last year too where some nutjob woman went in a police station with a knife and tried to sneak up from behind and slit a cops throat in some boneheaded attempt at busting her boyfriend out of jail. her punishment?

"The jury delivered "not guilty" verdicts for attempted second-degree murder and the lesser charge of attempted aggravated assault with serious bodily injury."

That is very sad. She could have done it for so many reasons: hate, jealousy, drugs, alcohol, or some really bad driving skills. It's sad to see how many of this incidents have been taking place in the last few years. For some reason hate crimes are becoming more obvious and occurring more often. Of course, it doesn't help that some celebrities are also making it clear how racists they are. Some idiots out there will see that and just go unleashed. I hope the family of the victim is well and it really goes against everything we stand for as humanity specially during this holiday season. Prayers to them. As messed up as our country is becoming, she'll probably keep the child. smh

Really though it's anyone's guess I suppose I can only assume it's because she was mentally unstable at the point of it happening since she was doing it having her son in the backseat, hence doesn't seem like something extensively planned out since she probably wouldn't have her son with her then. But I could be wrong.

I'm surprised that the article didn't  include anything about a history of psychological issues, which she most likely  did. This is quite shocking, to think that of all people to do such a thing was simply a mothere with a child in the bsckseat. This wored is full of dangers and anything could happen. Reminds me of the theme song from monk.

Not cool. Not cool at all. Maybe she was in a rush for something? I don't know.

That's insane! It's hard to believe that actions like this happen, it's scary though because.. It's not like this has ever happened before. People do stuff like this a lot more often nowadays and I've always been curios as to why that was. Best of wishes to the families of the victims, especially the person who died.

Seriously now, this woman should be treated like any criminal. Some say that she was high on pot. Let's see how long it takes for conservatives to get the "drugs must stay illegal) strawman...

janus :   It's possible that she was high. Perhaps something she took because she falsely believed it calms the nerves - in the long run it won't due to the long term effects of drugs which most recreational users are content to ignore. Many narcotics induce temporary psychosis and in many cases(because what fully sane person takes these drugs?) act as catalysts for latent mental conditions which then become permanent states of being. Cannabis just happens to be one such substance which can cause permanent and temporary "mental health problems".

I wouldn't jump right to that drug when it's only one of many possibles to cause such extreme behavior. It is, however, the most commonly used substance of them all so the likelihood of finding it is higher due to a much higher percentage of people failing drug tests on that drug alone. If the smear scale image came up positive for cannabis, she would be a pothead.

 It may have been weed or something else in her system but it really makes no difference at this point. People are dead and those deaths were 100% avoidable for any driver not suffering from a form of temporary (or not so temporary) psychosis.

 If the case is one of temporary psychosis, she'll get off on temporary insanity and be charged with the lesser "driving while impaired + plus reckless endangerment of many individuals including a small child + negligence causing death" offenses. Those ones will stick. You can't charge the lady with murder when she realized and admitted after calming down that she did a horrible thing. Seems like a clear-cut case of temporary insanity if they don't overrule that argument when the case proceeds in court.

This is why I don't read or watch the news, it's full of evil or flat out stupidity or at least to me. Though this is a mixture of both evil and stupidity.

I'm sure there are times when everyone has wanted to do something like this at some point, but at least most people know better. I only hope it wasn't intentional and it somehow happened by mistake. Otherwise this woman deserves whatever punishment she gets. You have to be pretty messed up in the head to plow your car through people on purpose...
