WARNING THIS MAY OFFEND POKEMON X Y ANIME LOVERS

The reason I am posting this is because I was recently watching the first season (for the 80th time) of the anime and it,in comparison, seems A LOT better than the X Y series. I don't know why I think this but it may have something to do with it being a little bit funnier (and because of chubby pikachu).Also the X Y series is really just boring. The only thing I am looking forward to is the movie coming out soon,Hoopa and the Clash of Ages, but the anime is getting predictable as well. Pokemon should mix it up AND ACTUALLY LETTING HIM WIN THE POKEMON LEAGUE FOR ONCE!!!!! Or at least focus on another character besides Ash....But the anime is just the same thing every region Ash beats team rocket, he gets 8 badges and he looses at least one time, and we go through ALL of that just to see him loose the Pokemon League.I just hope he wins this one or I am going to flip...


All I have to say is the anime is getting less interesting,at least for me, and I'm not saying it is necessarily "bad" but it should at least something different with the anime.

For me, the series lost it's charm once season 9 rolled around: Battle Frontier. After watching that, I finally decided I wouldn't watch the anime anymore. The golden era of the pokemon anime ended a long time ago.

I don't think it's getting old, but I do think they are killing it with their ideas, you know, repeating the same thing over and over. If they made a few major changes to the show then it could really change up everything but I don't see something like that happening.

Just look at what happened with Pokemon Origins.

Yeah after what now, 6 regions? , it's getting quite old. They've practically ran out of ideas.

For me, the only series that didn't suck was the first half or so of Hoenn and the first third of Sinnoh. Everything else was, is, and always will be second-rate garbage.  I think that the main problem is that for the first three series, Ash was as dislikable a character as you can get. Even in Hoenn it was mediocre, and by Unova, all hope, and I mean ALL HOPE had been lost.

It gets old past the orange islands for me. It really is just the same thing each season Ash never aging trying to conqeur the Pokemon league of a certain region and inevitably failing near the end. They never mix things up like they do in the adventures manga (which I'd rather see adapted to a show). It's because with every new gen it's targeting a new generation of kids, and why actually take risks then, when the writers can just play it safe and stick to what they know has succeeded? That's the sad truth.

Granted there has been some interesting change in the X and Y anime but it's not really changing the core formula.

I stopped watching the series some time after diamond and pearl. Agree with most of the other comments. Anime is losing its style. Well, at least the games still have a fighting chance, ya?

gamer537 : I really like the anime but now for me it's kinda getting old how many leagues has Ash won? The answer is none if you don't count the Orange Islands. What I personally want is a reboot of some kind though I think that won't happen XD

I enjoyed Indigo, Orange Islands, and Johto, but what I hate about the x and y anime is how it takes ash 20 episodes to get a gym badge. Most of the episodes he is helping a lost or injured pokemon. I get that they're probably only doing this to drag out the series until we get a generation 7 video game. But seriously, it's boring seeing ash do the exact same thing every episode, but just a different pokemon getting helped out. I always check on TV guide when there is a new episode hoping that it says ash will challenge a gym, but I am always disapointed. He better win the pokemon league this year, orange islands and battle frontier don't count.

I see your point. I agree with Zander, they're running out of ideas. I don't hate the anime, but I don't love it, either. The original series was good, advanced was ok, sinnoh meh, and Game Freak ruined Ash in Black and White. I almost watched all of the episodes of X and Y, and they're mostly good, in my opinion. Ash sucks, but removing him from the cast might make things worse. Just give him a brain. I guess Ash will get trolled by a legendary owner this time in the Kalos League , or by Alain. Don't worry, the Pokemon Anime will eventually end, but probably not now. Ash will become a Pokemon Master one day, and it will also be the very last episode of the Pokemon Anime, according to a guy from Game Freak (forgot his name). The games are way better, in my opinion. The Pokemon Anime isn't fun anymore. If they return Brock to the main cast, things might get better.

I agree with greenluigi on some points. I really do dislike the pokemon of today but don't hate it. They have run out of ideas thus throwing in things in the series that is just ugh....and still till this day ash hasn't beaten the Pokemon league. I mean come on really? To me pokemon is already destroyed, but I am happy I still have the original series to watch on my laptop instead. 

Yeah, the Pokemon anime is getting pretty repetitive and boring.  Ash is still here, trying (and failing) to win a league, Team Rocket is still here, trying (and also failing) to steal Pikachu for more than half an episode...

If they introduced some new characters, with a different plotline and a different enemy or goal, I might get back into it, but right now, I really don't think it's worth anyone's time.

In my opinion I say scrap Ash and get a new main character. They could give him a different starter or so random Pokémon and things would start looking up. Take a look at origins, mega evolution series and chronicles. All great and no ash. Though to be honest we all know it won't happen. But that is my thinking. Also scrap the bumbling team rocket and make them good. It was a nice change in unova when they were thieves in black and sneaking around. That's more like the real team rocket. Personally I liked DP the best as Ash did think for a change and grow. But they moved to unova and BAM! All good ideas gone! And they got rid of Bolt Tackle!!!!
