The new smash bros for the wii u is coming soon but what controller do you think will be more compatible (for you at least) the sideways held wii remote . The wii remote with the nunchuk . The wii u gamepad or the pro controller

for me I think the pro controller will be great but whats YOUR opinion

I've never used a pro controller.
I'm used to the Wiimote and Nunchuk, but I think the gamepad will be the best option for me. I've only been playing WiiU lately so I'm very used to the controller size.

I'm going to be using a Gamecube controller with the adapter that can come with the game. I don't feel like the Pro Controller will be bad for Sm4sh, but I'd rather not have to get used to another controller.

Since the GameCube adapter was announced when the invitational was revealed, I am obviously using the GameCube controller. I have used a wiimote for nearly 2 years for Brawl, and let me tell you: Your skill level is forever limited to not being able to use techniques that require one of the 3 different controllers besides the wiimote standalone. Makes me wonder what techniques Smash 4 will have. "B-reverse" has been discovered during Smashfest by VGBootCamp when showing Luigi's 3DS/WiiU moveset.

I will probably use the gamepad. I have used it since the consoles release and I am used to it now. I have never used the pro-controller and I probably won't as I have the classic controller which I think is fine anyway.

I think I'll be using the wiimote. I'm used to it since Brawl was the only smash game I had for years. Also, I could never get used the game-pad or the GCN controller (not for fighting games, anyways).

Obviously the Gamecube Controller with the adapter. But since you didn't list that, my second choice would have to be the Pro Controller. Nothing else feels good in my hands.

I've used the Gamecube controller for as long as I can remember, so I must say I might go and buy the Gamecube pro controller with the game if I can. I just used that so often, I gotta stick with it.

Well I'm getting A Wii U at the end of august and I'll be picking up Smash Bros when it comes out and I'll probably either use the Gamepad or the Pro Controller as I don't really know why I would use a nunchuck as I don't have a Wii, same goes for the Gamecube controller as I didn't play Smash Bros on the Gamecube and, I'd rather get used to the Pro Controller.

kurslash : I would use the wii remote sideway and wii u pro controller. The wii remote sideway is the easiest one and you will learn how to play in no time. I definitely recommend the wii remote sideway to play Super Smash Brothers on the wii or wii u. I'll try to use the Wii U Pro Controller. I'll practice on it first. I can't wait for that game !

I would probably stick to the Gamecube controller; however, I do feel that the Pro controller looks nice and would like to try one.  The reason I choose Gamecube over it, though, is mainly because it's familiar and because I already own some of those and wouldn't have to buy more for multiplayer use.

I have a 3rd party Pro Controller but the buttons and joy-sticks are really close together on it, making it super uncomfortable . To be honest, I don't really like the Game Cube controller either. I'm not really sure why, but it always feels uncomfortable for me. I always hate using the Wii Remote sideways sense it's really hard to control characters with it's limited buttons (and the D-Pad is small on that thing). I don't like the small shape of the Nun-chuck so, Game-pad it is for me.

kurslash : For me, I would like to use the Wii U gamepad, but I'm worried that the gameplay of Super Smash Bros will kill it like it did the Nintendo Gamecube controller on Super Smash Bros Melee. So I would have to say the Pro controller would be an awesome second controller. The Sideways wii remote would not work for me on this series, because I would lose my left thumb. (I almost did on Metroid Other M's hard mode)

I would actually use my 3DS as a controller! I've gotten really good on the 3DS version of Smash, so naturally if I wanted to play the Wii U version, but still play the 3DS version along with it, I wouldn't want to have to be constantly and frantically adjusting my playstyle each time I switched between them. This way, I can have one constant playstyle that is comfortable to me that I can enjoy!

For me, it depends on if the Gamecube adapter would work with more games than Smash Bros, and I've seen conflicting reports, but I wouldn't think Nintendo would restrict it to one game. If it will work, I'll want to use the Gamecube controller for sure. If not, I'd want to use a Pro controller, because it is pretty comfortable to use as well.

Personally, I prefer the Wii Classic Pro since I used to play Brawl a lot. I also using the 3DS actually, so I might try using it in the Wii U Version.

Gamin'Gal :

Yeah, I've actually been using the Wiimote for the longest time, ever since Brawl. Although I've thought about switching for the Classic Controller Pro Wii U on account of up tilts. I'm just not sure I want to do it. I like the Wii remote and Nunchuck a lot.

I guess grabs wouuld be faster as well so that's a plus. . .

I've been using the pro controller because the gamepad to me is too bulky and I think the pro controller is much more comfortable to use. I do use the gamepad sometimes though but that's only when I'm playing off TV.
