Are there any games you dislike yet the whole world seems to love?

For me it would have to be Mario or Pokemon. I just can't get into those games. I used to like them both but I think I just outgrew them in the end. It's become highly over rated in my opinion. What's especially sad is that half my friends sit and play Mario Kart 7 on their 3DS and don't even talk while I just sit there...

Call of Duty and Battlefields, they seems to be very popular games these days I just can't find anything fun about them. And Final Fantasy XIII and the newer ones, I tried to play them couple of times because I love that franchise, but I just can't play them for various reasons.

Halo and Assassin's Creed games. I've tried them and I just don't get the hype and can't get into them. Both are incredibly boring to me.

GTA, God of War, most first-person shooters, and maybe even the Batman Arkham series (yup, I said it).  Those Batman games were just too dark.  They were well done, were cool, but were too dark.  I'd play Guacamelee! or Rayman Legends over those any day.  Platformers FTW!

supernerd117 : Well tha Batman series is meant to be dark. If you've ever read any Batman comic things get very gruesome.

I agree with GTA though it's way too overhyped and the story is just all over the place and not even that good. The only thing good is the graphics and gameplay.

supernerd117 : The Arkham games were meant to reflect the dark and twisted atmosphere that the comic series had. Ever since the Adam West TV series, Batman has been put in the more child friendly superhero light. In the original context, the Batman stories were about as dark and twisted as Spawn.

I was gonna say CoD, but that is now the mainstream thing to hate on. Don't like it, but that won't be my pick. I will say World of Warcraft. I finally tried it last year, and just thought it was to slow paced. Not so much skill required as just leveling up. You don't even have much control in the fighting. I miss when Warcraft was a wartime strategy game like Age of Empires.

I just can't get into Pokemon. I've been called 'Pokenoob', and I am, but it's because I just don't get into it. Also, I just can't get into CoD: Ghosts. I like BO2, because I can play it with friends and such, but can't get into Ghosts.

Pokemon Red/Blue- Outdated, sprites are messed up, just not as good as later entries.

Halo - never saw what all the rage was about for these games
God of War - cant get into it :
Guitar Hero, Rockband and any of those instrumental games. 

Zelda, Mega Man, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Halo, Call of Duty, ect. I I dislike a lot of games that most people love. 

Final Fantasy is one game. Sometimes I hear people talk about like it was perfect in every way (Especially FF7) but I never got into it. The battle system is just too awkward for me.

League of Legends/DoTa/Smite/pretty much all of those.
The game play is way too fast and complicated for me. I like StarCraft, so I like RTS's, but not those.

Call of Duty, Final Fantasy, Halo, Gears of War, Battlefield, Zelda, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto, League of Legends, Some Mario games, Rock Band, Metroid, Literally any sports game, Half-life, Portal, Mass Effect, Minecraft, Fallout, Soul Calibur, Forza, and the Batman games are meh at best. I am pretty sure these are all popular games that receive excessive amounts of praise, and I just simply cannot get into any of them. 

I'm reading these comments and I'm seeing that no ones really answering the question properly. It's not about what game you can't get into, it's about what game you don't like.

Halo and God of War.

I don't get the hype.

I've played all of Halo and Halo 2, and most of Halo 3.

I played God of War, it's sequel, and the third game at a friend's.

I don't like them. I don't get how anyone can like them.

So freaking boring.

League of legends is over rated, everyone knows dota 2 is better. 

Military FPS: "Terrorists are attacking! Russians are attacking! Chinese are attacking!" gawd shut up! It's same theme over and over with them!
GTA: could you stop swearing and using racial slurs for five minutes? That's how felt about the cutscenes in GTA V, played it, beat it, never played it again.
MMOs: big freakin grindfests, more than jrpgs, and jerks just everywhere you go!

The one video game franchise that everyone else seems to love but I just strongly despise is the Pokémon series as well. I just do not get what is so interesting about that game and why some people get so emotional about it. I say I do not like Pokémon and everyone accuses me of being an alien, a terrorist or a Nazi. I do not know how they come to that conclusion by not liking a child's anime game. It just seems so boring to me and other games just seem to catch my interests better than this one.

For me it's been Zelda or more specifically Zelda ocarina of time since that's the game I own (the 3ds version along with the Zelda 3ds). Now while I can certainly see why people like it and why it's such a critically acclaimed franchise although I do think it's a tad bit overrated WHICH DOES NOT MEAN I THINK IT'S BAD I just think it gets more praise then it deserves... I'm looking at you IGN.

I can just never really get into it. That doesn't mean I hate it but I'm still far from loving it. I might give it another go been thinking about getting a link between worlds but haven't really decided yet (I seem to prefer 2d Zelda games to 3d Zelda games). If I do end up buying it sometime it probably wont be in a while.

Also MOBAs even though I do play league of legends ocassionally and they can be fun I find them hugely overrated compared to other genres.

Also most modern first person shooters like Battlefield 3-4 and CoD (the exception for me being the Counter Strike series) like League of Legends while I can find them fun occasionally I they're really overrated.

For me it's Pokémon. Pokémon seems over rated, in my book. I just don't understand how people get so obsessed over Pokémon. Sure I'll play it, but only occasionally.
