Alright. Hey guys. So, we now move on to chapter 8 of my story. I know that not much people are reading my stories but there were quite a few who have seemed to read it so I felt somewhat encourage to continue typing my story. Also, one more thing, be sure that you actually read the prologue and previous chapters in order before moving on. Please do not give any feedback if you haven't even bothered to read my story because I sometimes tend to get annoyed from replies that doesn't even seem like they read anything. Also, constructive feedback will always be appreciated.

Continuing on with the story:

Chapter 8: Navigation Through The Unknown

Tom and Bob were now inside the vent. They were surprised that they actually managed to enter the vent. However, they were unsure on where they should go in the vent. Tom said, "Well, come on, we're not gonna sit here all day, Bob." Bob replies, "Uhh... But where are we even supposed to go? What if we get lost forever?" Tom said, "One thing I know is that we can't turn around man. Even if we jump back to the bathroom, the door is locked. Unless you're willing to wait until the next day of school comes for the door to be unlocked and of course, our parents will be worried sick if we don't come home around a normal time and others will suspect something up if they find us sleeping here overnight until the next day of school. So, it is our only option to just continue with our own plans now since that is the only possibly thing we can do right now at the moment man."

Bob hesitated and paused for a moment. He was trembling and beginning to lose confidence again. Tom hates it when he would see Bob lose confidence before his eyes because Tom would always tend to lose confidence with him. Bob then said in a low voice, "Okay. I just... Don't know but... I just don't know what to do." Tom said back, "Come on already. Lets get moving." Tom then begins to crawl through the vent. Bob crawls and follows Tom. Tom then begins to see lots of small glass windows on the bottom of the vent. Tom then looks through the window and says, "Nice! I can see the hallway from this window. If there is windows like that everywhere then this shouldn't be too hard. Additionally, they also light up the path for us so it wouldn't be so dark." Bob then says in a doubtful tone, "Yea. Easy for you to say. You really had to get me into this mess. Do you?" Tom then said, "Dude. Just stop doubting and move on. You do already know that nagging like that will just possibly make things worse for us." Bob then said back in a sarcastic tone, "You're right Tom! We can just magically fly through the vents and randomly end up doing our plans well but randomly eavesdropping on the teachers with magic! Yay!" Tom then said, "Okay. Stop it man. Once again, having a tone like that will never help. You'll just slow us down"

Tom and Bob then continues to crawl through the vent in silence. Tom began to crawl in a faster pace. Bob was also beginning to crawl in the faster pace almost the same speed as Tom. Slowly, Tom was sweating. Bob was also sweating and breathing quite fast then faster, then faster and he was starting to groan. Tom was noticing that they weren't sweating from being tired, they were sweating from fear. The vent started getting darker and darker. It was almost pitch black. Then shortly, it was completely dark. Tom and Bob then stops crawling and they hear a loud bang and Tom yelled from fear. Afterwards, Bob said, "Oww... Watch it Tom. You pushed my head against the wall." Tom then said, "Oh, that bang was from your head hitting the wall? You gave me a good scare. Sorry about that Bob. I hope it doesn't hurt much and I can't see a thing..." Bob then said, "Naw. I'm sorry for slowing the both of us down by nagging like a little complaining baby. I should just move on man..."

Tom then said, "Whatever, it's all alright, but now, we got us a real problem man. We need light... There seems to be no small glass windows anywhere." Bob then laughs and takes out his Iphone. Like all other Iphones, it has a built in flashlight in back of it. Bob then said, "Haha. I wish we thought about this earlier. This Iphone comes really handy at times man." Tom then looks at himself dumbfounded and said, "Wow. I always forget about your Iphone. Hahaha. Nice job Bob. You proved yourself very useful for like the third time. I wish I bothered to get my phone. I always forget it at home because it's some old horrible phone that is like a portable home phone... Literally. No kidding. Just plain boring." Bob then said, "Well, now you're getting off topic from our plans yourself Tom." Bob then imitates tom voice and said, "Lets get moving." They both began to laugh and Tom said, "Hey, not bad. Not bad at all. Almost sounds like me. Maybe."

They continue to crawl through the vent and they both end up hitting a wall. They both yelled, "Ahh... Oww..." Bob then shines his Iphone's flashlight and realizes that they ended up hitting a path that splits up into 2 different paths. One that goes left and another that goes right. Tom and Bob sits down and stops crawling for a few moments and a moment of silence comes. They both had no idea on which path to go. There were no windows nearby either. Bob then said, "Uhh... Tom, where do we go man? I'm guessing you don't know?" Tom then said, "I obviously have no idea man." Bob then said, "Try picturing the area where we last met Jeff outside of the classroom that we were supposed to eavesdrop on then try to remember what paths we went to go back to the bathroom. Then, try imagining that we are in the hallway right now walking back to the classroom." Tom then went silent for a few moments thinking.

Tom was trying to imagine and picture the paths again. He was thinking very hard that Bob was even able to see a large purple vein popping out of his forehead while he was thinking. Bob continued to stare at the vein in amazement and was wondering something. Tom then said, "My guess is that we try to take the right path." Bob then looked at Tom with a dumb face and said, "Yea, and which one is the right path?" Tom then looked at Bob and realized his ambiguous statement and smiled. Then Bob realized what he meant and they both bursted into laughter. Bob said, "Boy, I haven't heard something like that in years man. So you meant we take the path at the right and I mean the right direction?" Then Tom put up his right hand and said, "Yes. That is what I remember when I pictured the hallways in my head."

Tom and Bob then took a deep breath and started crawling at the path leading to the right. Tom then remembers something and he got extremely afraid and he said to Bob, "Wait a sec dude, how much battery is left in your Iphone?" Bob then went silent for a few moments and got afraid because he realized that it most likely has low battery since he left his Iphone to record for 12 hours straight unintentionally. Bob then slowly looked at the lock screen and trembled. He then said in a low voice, "Uhh... About 20% I think." Tom then said, "Oh my goodness!!!! Quickly, we must crawl fast into light before it's too late man!!!!" 

They both started crawling in an extremely fast pace and they were panting. Tom as literally dragging Bob with him in an attempt to help Bob keep up the pace with him. They continued to move fast as they possibly can as if there were shadows everywhere getting ready too surround and eat them alive. Tom and Bob seemed to recognize the shadows everywhere and they were fighting it like 2 small dogs surrounded by lions. Tom said, "Yes! I see a window from a very far distance man! It is bringing out little light! Once we reach that light, turn off your Iphone flashlight to save batteries. Also, when we reach the correct classroom to start eavesdropping on the teachers, you can turn off your Iphone and instead of recording the whole meeting, I have a little planner with me to simply take some notes as if I'm in class because we need some battery life left on your Iphone for our journey to return back through the darkness somehow..."

Bob seemed to have gained some of his confidence back with Tom and he said, "Alright. Got it! We are almost there to light." Shortly after a few more minutes of lots of panting and crawling, the vent started to light up a little and the shadows everywhere were running away like small cubs. Tom then said, "Nice! Thats good enough light now. Turn off your Iphone Bob, we need to save that battery before we encounter trouble returning in pure darkness." Bob then shivered and then got relieved and said, "Alright, I turned it off." Tom and Bob put both of their heads on the little window to see where they are. They noticed that they were now right on top of Jeff outside the classroom they were supposed to eavesdrop in. Tom said, "Awesome, almost there man! But I can barely hear what they're saying. We got to move a little closer to their classroom somehow to hear their conversation."

Bob said, "There is another window a few meters away!" and then he points towards it and continues, "That can possibly give us a closer look and let us hear what they are saying easier." Tom and Bob then crawls to the 2nd window and stick the both of their heads onto the window again. Tom then said, "Well. Well. Well. Looks like we've found the right classroom! And luckily, they didn't start yet. The teachers are still sitting down on their chairs and preparing to start their conversation. Hehehe. We did it." Tom then takes out his planner and a small pen and gets ready to write down what they are saying. Bob sticks his head on to the window and he was very curious and impatient to know what they are about to talk about. Another strange thing is that all the teachers in the classroom were only male teachers. They also seemed somewhat muscular and stronger than normal. Almost about half of the strength of Jeff from the looks of them. Some of then were also wearing military clothing. 

Tom and Bob definitely suspect that some thing is definitely up. They seemed more like military men than normal teachers. Tom and Bob didn't recognize more than half of the teachers in that classroom. Tom knew that it was the right thing to actually eavesdrop on them since they looked very suspicious. Tom and Bob now took it more like a mission than a game to eavesdrop since it definitely seemed like they are about to go against something dangerous in the future.

When they continued to eavesdrop. The teachers or the military looking men were discussing things that they could not understand. The only thing they kept on hearing at first was, "Plan A12-7, Plan 439, Plan T67-5..." and they continued to speak in such a strange way. It was indeed in the English language, however, it was unique. It's as if they got their own unique code to speak in do they can hide what they are truly saying from others who may be eavesdropping on them. however, Tom and Bob continued to write down whatever they were saying despite then not understanding a word. Bob then started getting extremely impatient and very curious to know what they can possibly be saying, so then he said to Tom, "Dude, what the heck are they trying to even say man? I can't even understand a single word dude." Tom then said, "Wait. Hush. Let me hear then talk some more. They are still probably starting or maybe we missed something. Maybe they had a meeting before we even started eavesdropping on them but still, we can still figure out things and know that they are possibly attempting to hide something dangerous for us and all of our friends at school man." Tom then continued to write down whatever he heard from what they were saying despite him not understanding a word. His hand continued to rapidly take down notes until it was red. It was then beginning to sweat quite a lot and Tom seemed like he was beginning to think that his hand was on fire from how much writing he did. He was very persistent to understand what they were saying, however, Bob started to forget about the plan and began to think about other things because he did not want to bother to use his mind anymore. Bob was completely exhausted and he was not as persistent as tom, however, Tom shoved him to wake up and pay attention. Bob gave Tom a long and gigantic frown at him and then he decided to just stay silent and to leave him writing. Suddenly, the military man in the meeting said, "Okay, so that is all the plans you guys need to know. Now, we will start discussing each and every one of them. Brace yourselves as this is very classified and important information. Do not let anyone and I mean anyone know about these plans. If any one of you gets caught telling a single living soul about this, then you yourself will no longer have a soul left to worry or think about. Understand?" The rest of the military men said, "Sir, yes, sir!" They all began to sing a weird song in another language and Tom and Bob were beginning to giggle at them. It seems that they haven't started the real meeting yet.


They finally got the chance to eavesdrop and now, their meeting is about to start. They have made it right on time. What can they possibly be saying? What are they gonna say? What do these strange looking military men plan to do? Will this hard the students? Can Tom and Bob even become heroes out of this? Find out in the next upcoming chapter!
