The topic of this thread is pretty straight forward, is it not?

Why do you go after jerseys? If you don't, why?

Personally, I don't care about jerseys that much. The only things they do is make your username more colorful, and make the Board section of Vizzed more active. They just seem pointless.

I don't really, I know what happens if you do.....and it won't be pretty after that. If I were to get one it will be sometime when I want to. Or when I could be bothered about it. Jerseys for me is not so important so that's why I don't really bother with the tdv.....

I do not go online when they have the "Jersey" events.
Too many people get petty for the silliest things.
Threads get closed trust points end up in the negative.

I don't go for them for a couple of reasons. I mean, seriously, people just get hung up over them. You snipe them by a jersey, they hate you. Second of all, it gets to people. If they get a jersey, they need it. It becomes necessity for them, to put it simply. It can go from being as a simple "stop posting pls" to a sabotage.

Basically, people make it unfair for people who want it fair. The jerseys are nice to have, but cheating for them just ruins the competition.

Well I go after jerseys because I want to help my team win the Tour De Vizzed competition . Plus I like seeing my name with a coloured background . Looks cool to me . And it also boosts my posting count . The only reason I might not go for a jersey is because it has already been taken . Like if someone has 9000 words in a post then I will not go for the Red Jersey or the Yellow Jersey because I would not be able to beat that user .

Well I don't go after jerseys because I wouldn't get anything out of it except the rights to brag pretty much (not to mention the laziness I been having for attempting to do so.)

I honestly don't see why people are so hyped about them. It's only a special band around your user name for 1 day. Now, winning the monthly price for a jersey would be cool, but for one day, I don't see the point. 

And when you 'steal' or 'snipe' a jersey, you can possibly get hated on. People take things like a competition meant to be fun way to serious.

I'm more random on that here. At certain days, if I just don't have the time. (Like too much homework or other stuff to do) then I wouldn't try to grab a jersey. Also if I am just randomly lazy or if the competition is way too intense, then I wouldn't go for any jersey. However, if there is a certain day were not much people are competing or if I have lots of free time, then I would actually attempt to go for a jersey and I would hope I get it. But I will probably never get a rainbow banner even once from doing this but oh well.

It's really depends on the person, some wants to try out TdV and others don't. For me, I do and try to get after jerseys because to my opinion, it's really fun to try out and for a good challenge to do as well.

Eh jersey's only promote spamming and plagiarism if you ask me considering mostly everyone on the leader board has cheated in one way or another or has been DQ'ed from earning points towards a specific jersey. Honestly I see where it helps boost activity in the forums but it also adds alot of unnecessary plagiarism.

I post with the point of exchanging ideas and sharing my experiences to maybe (hopefully) give others insight and help them.  If there are competitions for most total posts and they're not based on content, threads and posts get watered down and the information and exchange isn't as meaningful.  It's a status thing and I'm not here for status.

Don't get me wrong.  For the folks who love posting, go on sprees, get jerseys, win posting competitions and have fun: Great.  Love it if you love it.  Enjoy yourselves and have a blast.  I don't think negatively when a  lot of thread creation happens.  The questions are sometimes very good and thought-provoking.

But sometimes they're not.
