For me, unless it's a movie I really really want to see in theaters (last and only time was The Simpsons Movie). Most of the time, I wait till It's released on DVD.

The movies are very expensive these days so I usually wait until the movie is on Blu-Ray which is a lot cheaper than going to the movie and not to mention that I can watch the movie whenever I want after.

I normally just stick with waiting for Blu-Ray or DVD... Theaters seem to become noisy as heck when people are laughing or screaming (depending on the movie)

This is a good question, I am divided between the choices. If it looks like a really good movie then we will normally go see it in the theaters and then we will buy it on blu ray if we liked it. Other times though if it is a good movie that a lot of people have seen and liked then we will probably rent it on fios on demand and watch it from there, so sometimes we go to theaters because it is kind of expensive especially with every movie in 3d which we never watch it in. But we mostly buy it on dvd with blu ray because it costs less and it looks great and really sharp.

I just wait until the movie is available as a DVD or Blu-ray because you can use the remote on your TV to fast-forward through all the previews but in theaters there's quite a few minutes' worth of previews and it gets really annoying sometimes. Also, I can pause the movie if I need to take a bathroom break or something like that, but at a movie theater, if you need to take a bathroom break, you end up missing part of the movie.

I generally wait for the release. There are always a few movies that I like to see in the theater because it's hard to get the full experience on a TV at home but for the most part it's not worth the money anymore.

Well sometimes I go to the theater when a movie first comes and other times I watch it bootlegged or pirated online to avoid  the high cost of going to the theater and if I wait for it to be released on video its because I didn't think it would be good enough to go see in the first place.

It really depends on the movie.

This year, with all of the releases, I am going to spend a lot of my time in the theater. The majority of movies this year look amazing, and I pretty much only watch movies that are supposed to be great in the theater. If they're good, then I'll buy the Blu Ray, I'll pirate them if they're bad but interesting. If I really love the movie, I do all of the above.

I usually wait for the DVD's, but if I really want to see a certain movie (maybe because I'm a fan of it or I really liked the plot), I watch it in theaters, but I still wait for and buy its DVD.

A few years back I was hitting the theatre every week.
(Between the years of "Broken Arrow" and "Kill Bill 2".)
After the Zombie and Vampire Craze?
I decided to wait for the D.V.D. release.

The movie theatre is no longer a place for the average person in California.
Might be different on the East coast but I have not heard much from those parts.

Too many people not laughing at the jokes from a comedy creeps me out.
Too many people not cringing at a well done slasher film special effect.
Some are "texting" (Beep! Beep! Bop!). Why do those people bother getting a ticket?

When I go to see a show? I expect the audience to have a good time with me.
If they are not entertained? Why are they here? In the theatre.

The experience is so creepy I can not makeout with my date in there any more. Some fool would snap photos and post it online or something. They obviously are not watching the film. The film they paid money for???

So, I normally wait for the D.V.D. release.
The California Crowd is too weird for me.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
