Everyone In this place seems to play Pokemon.

Am I the only one who does not play those games?

I just Thought I'd put this out here for folks to post up and see if there are people out there who like games but are not really attracted to the "Fake-Pet Franchise".

I'm not making fun of Pokemon games or their fans.
Just seeing if anyone has the same taste as I do.

Been ages since I have seen a gamer without That Title on his shelf some where.

It all denpends on what you like, I like pokemon but I don't like zelda. and zelda has a massive fan base.

orionfoxgibson : There are plenty of older users here that do not really jump for joy over Pokemon. Sure they are decent games but I got burned out on them after the first game or two in the series. They are basically JRPG's in the simplest form. Kinda like a tutorial to get younger kids into the games.

Believe it or not even though these are games that you and I grew up with...the majority of the active users here are under the age of 18...and there are a ton that are like 9-16 which is why so many people around here seem to go crazy over pokemon.

I play Pokemon, but not that much. If you are talking abort where you can get a cat, or a puppy, those kinds if games? Then, no, I do not play those. Have not played those since they came out.

I love all Nintendo games Pokemon,Zelda,and ect I play them but lately I haven't played any Pokemon I guess it's starting to get a little tired of it

Even though I have two Pokémon games on my profile, I only played them like 1 or 2 times.

Not really attracted to the franchise.

I like Pokemon and Mario, but not Zelda or Link. I hate Minecraft and I don't get why people even play that game. Everyone in class, keeps saying "Hey! Do you play Minecraft? Heard of the Minecraft sword?" Very annoyed.

I don't really play that much Pokemon either. I think the only game I played was Red/Blue and I haven't played it for years. I don't dislike pokemon, but I'm too busy playing other games. 

Victor-E : Kind of like me a little, I only play Pokemon like once every two weeks. Sometimes I love Pokemon, But in certain times I really hate Pokemon at certain times.

I've played lots of Pokémon, honestly I've loved the series, but I've started to become really disappointed with the games lately. Especially since the release of Black and White, they were real let downs. Hopefully, X and Y can redeem the series, if not, I'll still have FireRed and LeafGreen to play when all else fails.

This thread was asking for people who don't play Pokemon.
I am flexible enough to hear what game franchise you do not play.
But honestly.
With the exception of Jordan I could easily act like a douche and report the lot of you.

Newb strike!  I have never been into pokemon.  In fact I used to make fun of the games and players before I even tried one.  In 2005 I got around to playing one.  It wasn't as bad as I thought, but I still haven't played one since.  The cutesy, almost childish nature of the fans then completely turned me off of the games.  Now the fans are a little older they seem better, I'll probably try a more recent version someday.  But there's way to many FF and turn based strategy to play.  I haven't even finished LOZ Windwaker, yet.

And now I shall make my appearance and be the ONLY person on this thread (hopefully) whom absolutely LOVES Pokémon.

First off, I'm 20 years old... now, I know it's probably odd for a person my age to still be playing and absolutely LOVING Pokémon... but it's more of a nostalgia factor than anything, and sure... you don't see under my game history things like "Super Mario Bros 3" or anything like that, but that doesn't mean I don't mind playing them.

I think, although this thread does speak your mind in some way... it also has a bit of an Attitude" in it. Like really, a thread like this is more of a "calling-you-out" sort of thing... but then again, no harm no foul.

But yeah, I can see where you're coming from... it's like "why is there so much talk about Pokémon, come on... change the subject!"... that's pretty much the just of it, right?

To be honest with you, I kind of don't want to hear about it anymore myself... but I do want to continue playing it until the day I die.

I think... the only real Pokémon with most of the Pokémon people on here, is the fact that many of them are repeating the same threads or starting new threads that are kind of "meaningless"... or they don't post much at all and just start a thread like "So what's your favorite Pokémon?" and it's like "Geee, how original... I think I've seen this question about 9001 times on here." (Over 9000 joke XD)

I do play Pokémon here and there, I used to all the time in the past, but I have been focused into other games as well, but I do still play those games, who hasn't played that game.

I used to play Pokémon just to pass the time when I did not feel like playing anything else. I mean, I will still play Pokémon Stadium every now and then, but the actual Pokémon games? Naw, not really. Not anymore. 

Well of course, some people do not play Pokemon. I play Pokemon and Mario, but do not play Zelda and the sucking Minecraft. (no offence.)

I do not play "MineCraft" either. Though I am interested in it. I have seen Videos of people rebuilding the entire map of Zelda Ocarina of Time with that thing.
It is too Foxy of an idea to resist. Kinda like digital Legos. Currently I do not have time for even R.P.G. games. So Building one would be out of the question for me. If I did play MineCraft? I would Probably do a reproduction of Megaman2 and Zelda2 Maps and intertwine them somehow. But then I would want to make every 2.D. game I played 3.D. (Castlevania, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, I would never quit.)

Then there's the rub.
I would never stop.

There is a reason I do not play "W.O.W". It stems from needing my life.

Though I might play some other "M.M.O." If the culture of On-line games decides to evolve.

I keep thinking that if there were a way to separate each kind of grouping of people so that the kind of fun that can be had is well received by all? Then allot more fun can be had. Currently? There are too many cheap win players or Hack and Mod players around that the idea of fun would only stem from taking one of those dudes down. (I did that once in the Coin-Op years of video games. The rewards are... "fleeting" to say the level best about it.) And it tends to alter the game community in a way that I do not like.

The morals or scruples can go out the window.
Say you topple an amazing player after a months worth of work and he keeps coming after you like it's a vendetta or something.
Then later you learn it's a kid younger than you or a dude that's retarded or a cancer victim in the hospital. This is the only thing they were good at and you took it away from them?

Back in the Coin-Op days you could see your foe. If it was a kid or anyone under the above circumstances? Then you let them win.
If it is anyone else? It's game on.

Then there's the on-line chatter. Some people get so worked up they call the cops. They do something drastic and harm themselves. They say the most foul things ever known to man. Over a game?
Sorry but, I think a bit of regulation like dividing everyone by age groups might be needed.

I've never been all that attracted to the Pokemon games myself. I tried them once or twice... they never really captivated my interest. Which is weird, considering I like RPGs and turn-based systems, and Pokemon utilizes both of them.
