Skarmory is a nice Pokemon. It has an incredible base defense, and decent attack and speed, making it a well-versed Pokemon in battle.

Its type combination is also very good. It has two weaknesses, but at the same time has two resistances, plus the trademark resilience of a steel type.

Its only downside would be its moveset. It doesn't have very good attacks power-wise, even in Generation VI its best attack is Air Slash at 75 power. Plus, it will stop learning moves at level 50 (originally 45), while a ton of Pokemon go on beyond 60 or even 70. How such a well-versed in battle Pokemon was given a below average moveset in terms of raw power and quantity is unaccountable.

All in all, I think Skarmory deserves a 6/10.

Next Pokemon to rate shall be Murkrow.

Murkrow is one of the worst dark types out there. It's defense and special defense are atrocious, though it has decent speed, attack and special attack. However, it's lack of defenses and it's mediocre moveset make Murkrow one of the more useless pokemon from the 2nd generation, even with it's 4th gen evolved form Honchkrow. Murkrow is one of the worst dark types and one of the less useful flying types out there. Overall, Murkrow deserves a score of 3 out of 10.

The next pokemon to rate is Xatu.

I'll rate both because I know how much it sucks to get your post ignored.

Xatu is interesting. I've always wanted to use one, but always decided against it for one reason. Its movepool. It doesn't get psychic until around level 65 and for most of the game you're stuck with fly and night shade.

Competitively it's really useful. Magic bounce is a wonderful ability and it gets access to a lot of support for your team. 6/10

---

Infernape is my second least favorite fire starter (#1 is charizard, I hate that thing. Super overrated and pretty bad for a fire type). The design really doesn't appeal to me and its movepool is rather limited to fire and fighting moves along with thunderpunch and a few little things here and there. Its stats aren't the greatest with below average defenses and hp.

A good revenge killer but often too weak to do a lot of damage. 4/10

Next up is Electivire

As a pure Electric Pokemon, Electivire has only one weakness, which gives it a nice resilience by itself.

However, its stats don't strengthen that resilience, instead focusing on attack. Its nice speed, tied with its special attack, are its crucial stats, but I don't understand why it was given that much attack if the majority of attacks it learns are special. Switching its attack and special attack would make it an awesome Pokemon.

However, the fact that you must trade its pre-evolution to obtain it makes it lose rating, in my honest opinion. There are better Pokemon out there that can help you clear the game swiftly without needing any trade.

The final rating for Electivire shall be 5/10.

Next Pokemon to rate is Golurk.

Golurk has an interesting ground/ghost typing, and it an interesting amount of unique moves it can learn. However, it's kinds slow and it's defenses aren't all that high. Overall, Golurk is a pretty good offensive weapon, so I'm giving it a 6.

The next Pokemon to rate is Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn is a Pokémon that I think is really good, because it has the ability to set up Stealth Rocks, Spikes, Leech Seed, and also could use Thunder Wave. His setup potential is what I think is the best around. Amazing defensive abilities, with Fire and Fighting being the only types that are super effective against it. The Iron Barbs ability is great, and along with a Rocky Helmet, an opponent won't want to hit with any physical moves, because the damage can really rack up, especially if Leech Seed is active. Just overall, a great Pokémon for what he does, and I think his design looks pretty good as well. Not a Pokémon that's ever going to do anything without a supporting cast, but as a wall and a setup man, he's terrific. 9/10

The next Pokémon to rate is lunatone.

Lunatone is an obscure Pokemon with pretty mediocre stats all around hardly any of them going above 80 and 95 special attack being it's best. It's coverage is decent but not the best and it's typing isn't really that great. It's design, well it's basically a moon, nothing really too exciting but not the worst design either I guess.

It could probably be okay for using ingame if you really want to even though I wouldn't know why since there's nothing particularly interesting about it. Competetively there are far better options so it would really be kind of gimmicky there.

All in all I'd probably rate it a 4/10.

Next Pokemon to rate will be Tyranitar.

GamingN00B : Well... Dustox can be a very good Pokemon at the beginning, but later in the game, you'll then find it useless. That's how I feel. Its stats aren't bad, but aren't great, as well. 6/10, I guess? Anyway, next Pokemon to rate is Malamar.

Malamar has a funny name. In Spanish, it literally translates to "rough seas". It also has an interesting type combination, it always receive base damage except when attacked by Psychic (immune), Fairy (weak) and Bug (doubly weak). However, I don't think there's many people out there using Bug that much, nor do they have spectacular attack stats.

Talking about stats, Malamar is one of the most balanced Pokemon I've seen. None of its stats are specially high, with attack being at 92, however its lowest stat is special attack at 68, meaning all its stats are comprised in a 24 point gap. It's what I like to call an all around Pokemon, not a very good attacker but not a very good defender either.

However, not everything are good news, as it stops learning any attacks at level 48, while most Pokemon go on beyond level 60 and even 70. Also, considering it evolves at level 30, you are given little room to change its attacks by level up.

Despite this, I still think Malamar deserves an 8/10.

Shellder has outstanding defense as a first evolution pokemon, however, that's where all the good news stops. Other than that, all of its stats are really horrendous. Its speed is a pathetic base 40, and its special defense is only 25, so one special move will take it out no problem. To top it off, base 30 Hp isn't going to be enough to take hits well. I like that it is a pure water type though, I just wish that its defense stats were a bit more balanced.

As it is, Shellder isn't great, but when it evolves into Cloyster, it serves as one of the games best rapid spinners so it is worth your time to evolve it. I rate it a 6/10.

Next pokemon to rate is Wheezing.

Weezing always has been and still to this day is one of the best poison type Pokemon in the history of the series. It has a great ability, levitate, which gets rid of it's ground weakness, which leaves it only with a psychic weakness. It's got great defense and good attack and special attack. It's speed isn't too great, though it's got decent special defense. It's also got great moves that have great diversity, including Flamethrower and Shadow Ball. Overall, Weezing is an awesome poison type that's great to use, especially in the Gen 1 games. I give Weezing a 9 out of 10.

The next pokemon to rate is Victreebel.

Victreebel isn't a bad Pokemon. With 105 attack and 100 special attack, is very well suited for offense. 70 speed and 80 HP maybe hamper its usefulness a bit, but they are minor issues.

The worst thing is that it evolves through an evolutionary stone, and as such, it learns very few attacks, depending on what the pre-evolution learned. Still, the few attacks it learns are very useful, like Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm.

I'm giving Victreebel 7.5/10.

Next Pokemon to rate shall be Gigalith.

Gigalith is probably the best rock type pokemon in the series. It's got high attack and defense, and it's also got pretty decent special defense, something that most rock types don't have. It's also got a moveset, so Gigalith is an awesome pokemon! I'm giving that Pokemon a 9 out of 10.

Jigglypuff is adorable, has an amazing singing voice, but doesn't really have anything going for her otherwise. Great health, but awful defense, along with every other stat being bad. The Fairy type helps a bit, but still, Jigglypuff is just a struggle to use. I give her a 2/10. She can't even evolve into a Pokémon with much use in Wigglytuff.

Next Pokémon to rate is Moltres.

Moltres on it's own looks like a good Pokemon but considering the fact that it's legendary it's pretty disappointing. While I do like it's look and it's not outright bad there are just better options out there if you want a fire/flying type (which isn't really a very good typing to begin with), like everyone's favorite overrated Pokemon Charizard. Or one of my favorite legendary Pokemon Ho-oH. I even prefer Talonflame to it honestly.

It's stats are decent but it just doesn't do enough to separate itself from the competition in my opinion. And it's coverage is pretty bad for a legendary Pokemon. Mostly just having access to fire and flying type moves as well as solarbeam which is only really useful when sunny day is used.

I suppose it's pretty good if just using it ingame thanks to it's given lesser legendary tier stats, but there are still better options like I said and competetively it's not that much to brag about.

Next Pokemon to rate will be Pinsir/Mega Pinsir.

patar4097 : Jumpluff =/= Jigglypuff

Pinsir is a great pokemon. It gets access to a lot of fighting type moves to counter a lot of types it would otherwise struggle against. Moxie is a great ability that gives pinsir an attack boost every time he kills a pokemon.

Mega pinsir just made him even better. A base attack of 155, a base defense of 120, above average special defense of 90 and a speed of 105 lets you outspeed most of your enemies. Its only downside is its base 65 HP. Aerilate makes all of pinsir's normal type attacks flying type attacks and gives them a 33% boost as well.

8.5/10

Next up is Scizor

Furret : Wow, I didn't notice that. Oops. I blame it on being tired.

Mewtwo is absolutely amazing with his extremely high special attack and great speed, which Mega Evolution Y heps make even better. Not only was he extremely OP in the generation 1 games, being a type at the time, without a real weakness, but his overall stats were better than all other Pokémon. Even now, he's still one of the strongest Pokémon out there, with great moves to go along with his terrific stats. His design is also one that I just love. I give Mewtwo 10/10.

The next Pokémon to rate is Jumpluff. Hopefully this will make it up for gamerforlifeforever2.
