Hi Vizzed; I have been here since 6/09/10.

I was wondering if I still serve a purpose at Vizzed.

You still serve plenty of purpose. You are, by far, the most qualified to be the site staff manager and know the RGR far better than anyone else on this site besides David himself. There's a reason that you were the only person David left alone when redoing the entire staff team - because he thinks you're irreplaceable, basically. I don't look much into site staff stuff (I only covered for you while you were inactive because I didn't want the new site staff to have zero direction, while David focuses on other things) but I'm sure you contribute things that no one else can.

If your issues lie elsewhere, such as motivation or real life issues, then don't worry about it, it happens to all of us and you've more than done your fair share to be one of the most outstanding members of this community, even if your work is more behind-the-scenes. However, if you're only worried about "serving a purpose", then I'm sure anyone can attest to everything I've said.

I feel like Min said just about everything the rest of us were going to say, better. We all think you're a major part of the site. With that said, if you're not really feeling it anymore, no one can blame you for that. Everyone moves on eventually.

I feel like whether or not you stay should come down to whether or not you really want to. None of us would have you stay if you really didn't enjoy it anymore. Do what makes you happy, man. Just stop in and give us an update once in a while if you do, huh?

You're like glue, you hold things together. While we don't see you much in the spotlight, you take care of things in the background. That is just as important. You were given the admin rank because you earned it, and doing all this for so long has proven you deserve that title. I won't stop you from leaving, just wanted to say you are important here. Not to mention after the staff reset, you were still there, which means you do such a good job that David sees you outside of the scope of this, or as a important part of keeping the site going, and he's right to think so because you are.

tRIUNE : I don't really know on what you're talking about of not having a purpose here on Vizzed anymore. We all felt like you have a huge purpose here on Vizzed, and in fact, without you, I don't think the RGR/VGR would of been the same.

Plus also, you have contribute to Vizzed more than anyone else combined (if you don't include David himself), no matter when Vizzed has reached it's peak in the early/mid 2010's or during the "Dead-era" of the late 2010's, you have been there for the site in general, and with this, this is why David views you as basically "The 2nd in Command of Vizzed"

Agreeing with M0ss, everyone has their so called "peak", means that after they passed that supposed "peak", they seem like they move on to much newer things to experience with, nothing really lasts forever for everyone, sadly. But that's really part of life.

Also, if you felt like it's time to retire, that's all up to you, if you feel like you want to retire from Admin, you can and move onto better things, personally to me, I don't ever want you to ever retire because honestly, you're one of the best staff members in Vizzed's 14 1/2 year history as a website, and I like to see you continue that in the future, but I'm not the one that controls if you want to stay as Admin or retire from Admin, you're in control with that destiny, and if you do choose to retire, we will be devastated on the news, but we will understand the situation at the same time as well.

Well, probably not going to add anything new to what has already been said, though I will say that I feared a thread like this would be made seeing your activity dropping considerably.

We all have had breaks and peaks in our time here. However, given your history, it's like if you didn't take any break ever since you rose through the ranks and you've always been at your peak.. Not only is that a very commendable effort and a guiding light for any of us, it will also be very hard for anyone to even do half of what you've done.

You totally have a purpose in here, clearly seen when David didn't even think on replacing you or taking roles away from you. The whole site staff trusts you as our manager and the whole staff team trusts you as a valuable and irreplaceable asset. No one will ever say otherwise.

You've been here for nearly 9 years. In such a long time, life can take many turns and motivation can dwindle severely. If you feel you can't do your job any longer due to those reasons, we will all understand. But the day where you don't have a purpose for this site won't come.

Even if my focus is not on the Retro Game Room for the time being (completely refocused myself to the forum and community for the distant future), the RGR is still used more than the forums and is still what drives in most of the site's traffic. I'd say you're the second most valuable user to this site. We'd all hate to see you go

I have been severely depressed because I broke 3 toes in a cage fight which disabled me from walking, plus my shoulder was dislocated... which means I haven't been able to go to work for the past 3 weeks and I got laid off.

I am in fear of becoming homeless if I can't make rent. I can walk now, and my shoulder is fine... thank you guys for the motivation; I will continue to upload a bunch of games to the Retro Game Room, and will still be the Staff Manager.

Dang, man... Glad to hear stuff's healing up like it should. For what it's worth, if I actually had any money to myself, I'd send some to help out. As it is though, I'm still living at "home". I hope stuff turns out alright in the end.


Side note, cage fighting. That's pretty metal, dude.

I'm dealing with depression myself because of financial issues, but it was a lot worse a year ago at this time. Things have shown signs of improving, and I think the same thing can happen to you if you continue to hang on. I haven't had time to come to the site because of my work schedule, but when I do, I want to still be able to use the RGR. I'm glad to hear you're still with Vizzed and hope you continue to keep working through things. For me, that's how I've gotten through my depression even though it's still an ongoing battle. 

Thank heavens you are sticking around. Honestly tRIUNE, I'm not sure what we'd do without you. I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, know that we are always on your side. 

Hey tRIUNE, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. But you can't leave yet. Vizzed needs veterans who care for it to help bring forth the new generation of users. And having a member who's been here as long as you, is really comforting, when I see how different things are now.

truine I was actually worried about you. I can't remember if I pmed you asking of your whereabouts. I had been busy doing life stuff and forgot to check on you. Sorry to hear what has happened to you. I hope your resting well. I don't want you to leave vizzed. You have done amazing things for the site more than you can imagine.
