Eventually there will be just 3 Globals since 2 of the Globals will be promoted to Admin. Here's how the Admin position will be handled from now on.

There will always be 2 forum admins (this doesn't count tRIUNE). This way all decisions have to be handled by 2 users rather than just 1 user, which can help avoid bias and abuse and will also help reduce the stress and burden being an admin can place on a user. This also helps prevent people from blaming a single person for various problems, no single user should have to be the scapegoat of every problem.

Admins from now on will be voted in (either by the community or by the staff) from the available Global mods (so a Local Mod can never be promoted directly to Admin). An admin will serve only 6 months until they're demoted back to a Global Mod. The demoted Global Mods are eligible to serving consecutive terms but only if they're voted back in. This system helps ensure that the Admins don't take for granted their position and are always doing their job. They should of course enforce the rules but they should also be peace keepers.

I'm not sure yet when the election will begin for the 2 Admin positions. I kinda like the idea of the election being every June and December since one is in the middle of the year and the other at the end of the year. If I did that, then I'd either have to wait until June to do an election (to give the Globals time to prove themselves) or have the election at the end of the month. The other possibility is to have the elections every March and September since that'd give the Globals more time to prove themselves.

EDIT: We had a revote for the Global spots and Furret ended up getting the 5th Global spot instead of Lexatom.

Well, I do got to admit, it's great to see these 5 users get promoted to Global, congrats to these 5.

Anyways, that does sound like a great idea to have users get the Admin position for 6 months at a time, so that way, everyone has a shot to be an Admin, instead of being focused on the role permanently. Great idea.

This is very unexpected. Teenage me would have never have guessed he would become a Global Moderator. Thank you to those that believe in me, the entire mod team and the future Admins will do our best to make everyone's experience on Vizzed fun and pleasant.

Also, if I must interject, I agree with the March/September election cycles. It gives us 5 some time to prove ourselves to the community now, but you're also not going too long without any forum admins.

JigSaw : Grovel before your new lord, peon. I don't think we have to worry too much about these guys having too much fun. I'm confident they'll be fair, but even though they're all friends, I'll be the first to make waves if I feel like things are getting too heavy.

IgorBird122 : Local mod position should be abolished (might be unpopular opinion). I don't really see the point in limiting the powers of mods on Vizzed. If you are a mod, you should be able to mod all forums, it is your job. There will be instances where locals see something going down and globals or admins might not be online. The locals will feel powerless and useless. At that point, they are just regular users running to higher ups for problems. If they were all global, these instances would not happen. Plus, another problem we got with local mod position is who mods what? And another problem is not all forums may have local mods and if you were to summon those non-existent local mods, what happens? Nothing happens (unless it actually does summon all local mods regardless of what forums they mod???)

Congrats everyone who got global! I hope anyone that stays there will help make the site fun for everybody who comes here! Me I'm just fine being a local. I'll just watch over any forum I'm given modding power over. Finally good luck to the future admins who will be selected, as they are pretty much my future bosses

JigSaw : Well, they are pros and cons with having too many Locals, Globals, and Admins.


Sure, having more than 5 Globals would sound great and all because the Globals (and Admins) won't be online at the time an incident is taking place, and when you have more Globals, that sounds great, mostly to avoid any issues that transpired before things starts getting out of control, but at the same time, Having too many Globals could also create problems because of the quotas, as well as the ability to communicate with each other (because one Global can do something that the others won't agree on.


Sure, the Locals right now doesn't have their forums at the moment, but eventually, they will get their forums to mod sooner or later, at the mean time, we going to have to deal with those non-existent Locals controlling those forums.



(Although not related to this thread, but ignore my signature, I'm trying some weird things with the whole layout, and forgot to take that weird mumbo jumbo off the signature.

JigSaw : I've agreed with that position for a while. The only major thing I would change would be to limit the permanent banning powers to admins only and leave globals with the regular bans (allowing a time variant to be set). Having local mods doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me either. I'd rather see more globals and fewer mods overall.

geeogree : That would also be the reason against having too many Globals, them placing some of their vendettas that they have with some users in the past and handing them perma bans, so, I personally agree that Permas should be left to Admins.

I do agree that having a big hierarchy between the moderators of the site seems a bit unnecessary.

I think if we work as a team though we can try and minimize it as much as possible. The 6 month admin terms will also make this a lot easier because we probably won't have the same people on the very top the whole time.

Lol look at these new set of globals! Except for oniichan. Congrats for getting global rank! I actually like the new system to do with hiring new admin. It will give people equal turns to experience to be one and not the same person will be in that position every time.

Congrats to the other Globals, I know we are all eager to get to work! I look forward to it. 

I second what Geeo and Jig said: I think we should have Moderators and Admins, no need to local moderators. A fairly large team of moderators (which would be like our "global moderators") and a small group of two or three admins (Including tRIUNE) would be a great balance I think. 

Welp, I'm surprised that we didn't have just two users covered in poop, but five of them!

Seriously speaking, I like the new path the site is taking. Electing an admin every once in a while from the Globals available at the time will make things much smoothier. I normally defend that, for success to manifest, a solid team needs to be formed and constant ups and downs must be avoided, but seeing where this belief has taken us so far it won't hurt to try the other way. Besides, the team can still be solid even with those ups and downs if they manage to cooperate near perfectly, so definitely something to try.

I must agree with the opinion about locals. Instead of relying in a reduced number of people, it would be better if the whole mod team was in charge of modding the entire board. Of course, we should apply some changes to what Globals are right now like geeo stated, because the position can be abused rather easily, but with the correct changes I'd say it's the path to follow.

Davideo7 : Regarding the promotion of the Admins, my opinion is that sooner is better than later. Right now, with 5 globals, there is still the need for someone to help us funnel the ideas and take the lead. I think it will make prioritizing faster and give us some direction. 

I just want to say thank you to those who put their trust in me by voting me for global and/or local. I'll do my best to prove that I deserve that trust by working with the other mods. Here's to working to reinvigorate the forums!
