FireRed: Quite the Remake
Well, here I go, reviewing another game. Pokemon FireRed this time.
Pokemon in a nutshell...? Pokemon are adorable little creatures similar to the animals that inhabit our world. The difference is... These little guys are powerful. Some are legendary, some are as common as field mice. They are caught by trainers in capsule spheres called Pokeballs, and are used in battles. Pokemon are many different types, like Fire, Water, or Grass, and these types play out in Rock, Paper, Scissors fashion. The idea is to catch all the Pokemon, train them in battles to make them stronger, and then challenge the toughest of the tough... The Gym leaders and Elite Four. If you beat them and the champion, you are in the Hall of Fame. But alas there is still much to do after beating the Champion. That is what Pokemon games so replayable.
Pokemon FireRed is a remake of Pokemon Red, the first Pokemon game ever made. GameFreak always does a good job with remakes, by improving on the original, while older players still feel the nostalgia.
Graphics are great compared to Red, but to comparing them to the game system, Pokemon was capable of doing more. Pokemon animations were ignored again, which is disappointing because it actually makes you feel like you're battling creatures instead of flat sprites. Other than that, flowers sway, waves crash against the beach, move animations are cool.
Sound is good. The music is wonderful, and the battle themes for legendaries and boss battles is usually cool. The only drawback may be the cries of Pokemon, which seem like beeps but remixed for each Pokemon. They could've just used the Pokemon saying their name as cries. Pika Pika!
Hmm addictiveness. Every battle is different, and leveling up, learning moves, and evolving pulls you in immediately. Trying to catch em all can prove to be addicting too, like trying to get Chansey and Kanghaskan in the Safari Zone. And if you have the actual cartridge, you can spend hours going back to catch Pokemon to transfer to Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver.
Pokemon Game = Terrible Story. This is a fact. I gave it a six though, because maybe I'm a sucker for the whole ten year old kid saves world from evil criminal gangsters thing.
Depth is amaing like any Pokemon game. Every Pokemon is different, in stats, moves, types... My Pikachu could be different from your Pikachu even! Natures, EV's, IV's, movesets.... The most dedicated Pokemon fan can spend days trying to mold the perfect Pokemon! Plus, there are 386 Pokemon to catch, 7 islands to explore, and powerful trainers to battle... If you think you've done it all, then there's the Battle Tower to challenge. Definitely a +100 hour game if you want to do everything.
Difficulty is higher than some Pokemon games, but difficulty in Pokemon generally follows a pattern: Have no trouble throughout the entire game, then get to the Elite Four and realize they're stronger than you thought!
Overall, a very fun game. I recommend it for any Pokemon fan, but you'd be better off having the actual cartridge, as the ROM has been known to have trouble saving, and with the cartridge, you can transfer to DS games.

In this version of the classic role-playing game, you can collect all of the monsters from different Pokémon installments, including Ruby, Sapphire, and Colosseum. The game comes with a wireless adapter, which lets you connect with your friends' Game Boy Advances to chat, trade Pokémon, and participate in battles. Other new features include a tutorial mode, a recap system, minigames, and more.
Pokemon Fire Red Description: Pokémon FireRed takes the player into the world of Kanto on a mission to catch all of the 350 pokémon for Pokémon researcher Prof. Oak. Pokémon are animal-looking creatures that pretty much form this and all the other games in the Pokémon Universe. The challenge is to capture them all using pokéballs and an own set of these strange creatures, as well as training them for the ultimate battle, the Elite Four!
The game is a remake of the original Pokémon Red and offers the same diversity of gameplay as the original. However, this game has got everything the player might miss in the classic game: updated art and graphics, new pokémon, and perhaps the most interesting: the wireless adapter. This allows the player to trade wireless with friends within a limited radius. In addition to all of this, the player may explore a new set of islands outside of Kanto, the Sevii Islands! Enter the union room, make a dream team or explore the world of Kanto in this epic gameplay experience from the Universe of Pokémon.

Diploma Fill National Dex completely
Enable trading to Ruby and Sapphire Fix the Network Machine on Island 1. This is done by getting both the Sapphire and Ruby (in game items) and bringing them to the machine
Get the National Dex (JP Version)
Once you have beaten the Elite 4 and have more then 60 pokemon in the pokedex, go to Pallet Town and see the Professor. He gives you and Gary the National Dex, which allows you to view the entries of all 386 pokemon.
Leftovers Use Itemfinder where Snorlax was near Cycling Road and Silence Bridge.
Macho Brace Use Itemfinder where Giovanni was in Viridian Gym.
Sacred Ash Use Itemfinder where Ho-Oh was in Navel Rock.
Soothe Bell Use Itemfinder where Mr. Fuji was in the Pokemon Tower.
Aurora Ticket/Deoxys you can now download the Aurora Ticket at Nintendo Events. This allows you to go to Birth Island, where Deoxys is located

every time you encounter a pokemon you have a 1/8192 chance of the pokemon being a different color, this is called a shiny pokemon
Determining Pokemon's feelings towards you.
When you use an item on one of your Pokemon outside of a battle, such as a Potion, the Pokemon will either move closer or away from you in the short intermission sequence. How far the Pokemon moves depends on how much it likes you. If it does not move at all, it feels neutral.
Get to Sabrina in the Saffron City Gym without fighting any trainers
Enter the Saffron City Gym, and step onto the warp panel. Now, go:
North, South, South, North, South, North, North, South, South, North, North, North, South, South. You will now be in Sabrina's room, without having to fight any battles.
How to avoid wild Pokemon.
This only works on grass. Once you obtained CUT, you can cut the grass so you won't find any Pokemon.
More time in the Safari Zone
In the safari zone , stand in any grassy area. Instead of moving left and right, just tap left or tap right so that your character turns but you dont move. By doing this, you'll still run into random encounters but your time in the safari zone will not decrease.

I try to press the F2 keys to save. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to play this. I've played it before but I can't anymore on my DS. When I press F2 some weird window pops up. Help? Oh, by the way, great game. ;)

Uhmm... This game great but i would suggest that they would add a trading system ONLINE for Pokemon players, not only FireRed but also with LeafGreen, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and etc... It would really be exciting and more connection to the players around.

You can't use "cheat" on vizzed. It's ether save states or go in like if you actually had a Game Boy Advanced.

if you change to video record one it have a new file sistem... so maybe if you re open whithout going there it have the prev safe (also use F2 to save anywhere)

for all those that play on a laptop and you can use save state due to F2 being your wifi key dont forget about the Fn button at the bottom left that allows you to use F2 and not access the wifi key. I hope this helps.

ones the game start on it own it doesn't need internet to save load or play...
so you are safe to do it even if is your wi-fi key... make sure you leave every page steady as you do the thing and press the F2 again to save the control configurations...
