It's time to elect the 2 users who will be admins of the site in 2020 from January - June. Only 3 of the 4 Global Moderators are running for the 2 Admin positions. You can vote for 2 Admins. They're listed below, click them to see their application:
7 Days of Vizzed Christmas You'll all be rewarded a nice Christmas gift when you come to the site on Christmas (server time). Additionally, you'll be rewarded a random amount of Viz for each day that you come to Vizzed from the 25th until the end of the year, the '7 Days of Vizzed Christmas'. Be sure to visit the site each day to claim your random Viz gift!
Christmas Video Game Music Stream I'll be streaming Christmas / Wintery themed video game music 24 hours a day from tonight until Christmas is over. You can find the stream here:
I spent many hours putting this together, which is why I had to delay it as long as I did. I wanted to capture not only the growth of the site but its community as well. I also wanted it to feel authentic so I did a lot of research in order to represent what it would have felt like using the site during the represented time periods (finding archives and using old internet browsers).
All of the users represented in the video are users with at least 10 posts. A special thanks to the users who went out of there way to put together a video/audio file that I could place in the video
I’m going to start this out by letting everyone know that I’m still working on the 15 Year Anniversary Video but it’s a little behind. It should be up within a week though, and I’ll make a separate announcement for it. You can get a sneak peak of what to expect here (the video will be based on the events listed on that).
After a lot of bold and controversial decisions made at the end of 2018 involving a complete staff restructure, 2019 started out really strong. It slowed down a bit but I think that was just a temporary phase and I believe the site is on track to start growing again. 2018 was the rock bottom for the site and 2019 was the beginning of the gradual incline that follows.
2019 was also a really busy year as far as development goes. I said I would dedicate 2019 to working on features that benefit the forum and its community and that’s exactly what I did. I spent very little time working on the Retro Game Room and mainly focused on fixing, finishing and expanding things on the forum. The biggest project of course was Rebuilding the Entire Post System, which I think makes the forum worthy of a Vizzed Board 2.0 status? I also completely rebuilt the Private Message System from the ground up. Both of those projects were some of the biggest projects I’ve tackled in years but they weren’t the only forum related things I worked on.
I restructured the Log System which made the site more secure and faster, made a ton of different cosmetic updates (for example, Input Fields), developed a ‘Vizzed GO’ game as an April Fools prank that caught on and was kept, finally added a Post Quoting feature, made a New Memberlist page, made a New Active Users page, and so much more.
I did work on the Retro Game Room and Video Game Room a little though. I upgraded the version of RetroArch that we use countless times. I rebuilt the Game Editor to make the lives of the staff easier, I completely revamped the way Screenshots are handled and displayed, fixed the Game Streamers page, etc.
One of my more favorite features that I made was the Site Statistics page. It lets you see just about any type of statistic on the site with an endless amount of filters. All of the stats for the awards below were generated from that page (in previous years, I had to execute queries in the database) so be sure to click the ‘Source’ links to see those results in action.
Another big thing that happened in 2019: My Bomberman ’94 Tournament streak was finally broke by Foxyman1113! I had been the reigning champion for 5 years. Again, congrats Foxyman1113, it was nice to finally have that streak broken and it was well earned
Expect to see less features in 2020 compared to previous years but more involvement in the actual community. In 2020 I’ll be spending far less time doing development work on the site and far more time just being part of the community, which will include more posting, hosting more events, more streams with the members of the site, more PM reading, more Notification reading, and just more involvement with the community and staff in general.
I'm putting together a YouTube video for the Vizzed Channel which will show the evolution of this site and its community in the form of a timeline. The timeline will list all of the significant events (in order) and will show various statistics. It will also list the different users who have been staff and users who have had an impact on the site in some way.
The video will probably be around 10 minutes long. Throughout the video, I'd like for clips of Vizzed users to play so this is where you guys can help out.
Submit Your Video/Audio I wanted to have the involvement of Vizzed users in this video.
Qualified users can send me an audio or video clip in the following ways:
1. Email it to me at
I'm doing another Vizzed Black Friday this year which starts today, November 29th, and ends at the end of the day on Monday, December 2nd. Except this year, I'm doing the biggest discount I've ever offered!
During this time, everything (except stuff sold by other users) will be discounted by 33% in the Vizzed Market which includes all game codes and Vizzed items. Users will also earn double Viz for donating to the site.
As mentioned in this thread, I'm planning on putting together a timeline video of Vizzed.
I'm putting together a timeline feature which I'll be using to help "render" the timeline video and also to have a platform where I and others can submit events. You can see the timeline I'm putting together here: Vizzed History Timeline.
Staff has the power to add events to it. I can also give users the power to add events to it if others are interested in helping out. At the moment you can only add events, I haven't got around to adding the option for editing and removing events. Also note that the date of the events have to be in timestamp format (for the time being) so you can use a website like this to find the timestamp of a date.
What Events Should Be Added? Feel free to suggest events that should be added. While the timeline will contain a few non Vizzed events (such as game systems and popular video game releases), all suggestions should be Vizzed related. Events can be something on Vizzed that happened which had a huge impact on the site or its community, when certain features got added, it can be various milestones, etc.
Vizzed Board turns 15 years old on December 6th so you guys have a little more than 2 weeks to vote for whoever you think deserves any of the awards below. Voting will end on December 5th and the awards will be given out on December 6th. There are 25 awards you can vote on, 20 user awards and 5 thread/post awards.
It was down for a few years but the Vizzed.co Minecraft Server is finally back online (and working great)! Well technically it's been up for a few weeks now but a lot of that time was used to install necessary plugins, maintenance, migrate old data, and prepare it for its grand opening!
Anyone with the Java version of Minecraft can join using this as the IP address:
I've created an entire directory on Vizzed dedicated to our Minecraft server. It contains plenty of resources, information about every user, world and claim, and so much more. I've also got huge plans to continue expanding it with features so that the site and our minecraft are more integrated with each other. Anyways, the Vizzed Minecraft "site" can be found here:
I do a weekly Twitch Stream on Mondays at 1 PM central time where the staff and I discuss the server, our plans with it, any current events and more. If you're interested in it, check it out here:
https://www.twitch.tv/davideo7/ (be sure to follow my channel to get notifications)
Every Monday from 1 PM until 2 PM (central time zone) the Vizzed.co Minecraft Server staff and I will be doing a weekly meeting where we talk about the server, discuss our plans and allow users in the Twitch chat to give us feedback. It'll also involve a lot of general MC discussion and an opportunity to show off the server, the users of the server, and their creations.
It's a little late but the final matchup of the Spring Bomberman Tournament has finally been scheduled along with the special "Beat Davideo7 and Foxyman1113" event that takes place soon afterward!
Both events will take place on July 25th, Thursday, from 2 PM - 6 PM central time. Read below for more information.
Defeat Davideo7 and Foxyman1113 & Win US $500 Worth of Digital or Steam Games! Event starts at around 4:00 PM central time on Thursday, 7/25/2018 As soon as the Bomberman Netplay Tournament ends, there will be a special Bomberman event that'll take place right afterward (just like the last few years). You'll form a team with anyone and take us on in a 2 vs 2 match and if you can beat us, you and your teammate get to share the $500 worth of Digital or Steam games! (or 500,000 Viz if you want that instead). Basically you'll be given 50 Raffle Tickets which you can use to redeem here (also click that to see the list of games that you can get which includes more than just Steam games).
This event will be live streamed on my Twitch Channel here:

2019 Spring Bomberman Tournament = Final Matchup at 2:00 PM Central Time on Thursday, 7/25/2019 The final matchup of the Bomberman '94 Tournament ends on July 25th with the final matchup taking place at 2:00 PM central time. The tournament started at the beginning of April and began with 25 of some of the best Bomberman players. It is now down to 5 players; here are those players and their overall rank (which will determine their player order):
Here's how the final matchup will work. At the end of each round, the user (or users if there is a tie for last) with the lowest trophy count will be eliminated. We keep doing this until only 1 user stands, which will be our winner. If you miss the stream, I'll be uploading the video to my personal YouTube account here:
The matchup will be live streamed on my Twitch Channel here:
//www.twitch.tv/davideo7 (be sure to 'Follow' my channel so you don't forget)
The final matchup will last anywhere between 45 minutes and 90 minutes. Here are the results and uploaded streams of all the previous years:
A friend of Local Mod Boured is going though a rough time and needs help getting some money for medical bills. If anyone has disposable income to put into a donation, he would be very grateful. In case you don't no worries, but please spread the message around.
The link to donate is here:
On Thursday, 6/27/2019, from 5-7 PM (central time zone) we'll all be listening to and rating the songs from the Arcade Music Competition. Shortly before each song finishes, I'll give users a link to where they can rate each song and the song submitters get points for any rating above a 3 (out of 5).
I will be hosting this event on my Twitch channel and I'll be giving away a total of $250 worth of Steam Games in the form of Vizzed Raffle Tickets which can be used to redeem Steam games and other digital games including eShop, Uplay and more. The Raffle Tickets can also be traded into the Vizzed Market for 10,000 Viz each.
The more songs you rate, the higher your chances are of winning a raffle after the stream is over. Each rating you make during the stream is basically another entry in the raffle. There will be over 1000 digital games that winners will be able to pick from. You can see a full list of redeemable games here:
This competition will involve 2 player teams facing off against other 2 player teams. This is the 4th year I've hosted a teams tournament. You can find the results of previous years here:
Summer 2018:(never happened) Summer 2017: Triple Trouble Win
Summer 2016: Vizzéteers Win
Summer 2015: Vizzéteers Win
Summer 2014: Retro Renegades Win
Summer 2013: Kogarasumaru Win
This tournament will last for 10 weeks, 6 of those weeks being regular weeks and the last 4 of those weeks being playoff weeks. The 8 teams with the most points will enter the playoffs.
If you have a tight schedule or don't know how your availability is, don't worry, you'll be able to schedule a day and time for your matchup each week. You can also get a backup player on your team who can fill in for whenever you can't make it to a match (or you can sign up as a backup player). You, your team and your opponents each week will come up with a day and time that works for all of you to do your weekly matchup. In other words, it's a very flexible tournament.
You must enter as a team, so find someone who is willing to be your teammate and let me know what your team name is but if you can't find a teammate, just let me know that you're interested in joining but don't have a partner and I'll find someone for you. Your team may contain a 3rd user, a user who will basically be one of your backups in case one of you can't participate in a matchup in any given week or someone who can fill in if one of the main players of the team is bad at a game that gets picked. The 3rd backup player isn't required but is suggested if you can find someone willing to take on that role. If you can't find a teammate, just let me know that you're interested but don't have a team and I'll add you to the list of users looking for a teammate.
Be careful on who you choose as a teammate. If your teammate doesn't show up for a matchup, then it's you against 2. If your teammate gets banned from the competition or drops out, then you have to play the entire tournament alone unless you can find someone to replace them.
NOTE: You don't need the PlayStation item to join PlayStation netplay sessions. Also, the games of this tournament will be available to everyone while the tournament is active.
The games that this tournament will include (some of these might change):
-Micro Machines V3
-Crash Team Racing ?
-Crash Bash ?
-Micro Maniacs ?
If you know of a good 2 vs 2 game, please recommend it and I'll see about getting it added! Games with a ? next to them are games that aren't confirmed for this tournament yet.
The games will be grouped together and each week a team can veto a group which means for their matchup that week, no game from that system can be picked. This will allow users to compete who are unable to do netplay for a certain system because they'll be able to simply veto that system each week and never have to worry about playing a game for it.
Requirements -You should preferably live in the United States (unless you have had very little lag problems playing netplay with USA users)
-The RGR Plugin must work fine on your computer and netplay should work for at least 3 of the systems mentioned above
-You must be free at least 1 hour every week that this tournament takes place or have a backup player that can fill in for you any week that you're unavailable
-If your on the ban list, you cannot enter. To see who is on the ban list, go here:
Trophy Award Every user of the winning team will get a special trophy item added to their Vizzed Market inventory. Users will be able to display all the trophies they've earned on their profiles (when I'm done remaking them) and they'll also be permanently enshrined on a Hall of Fame page.
Penalty If you miss more than 50% of your matches, then you'll be added to the ban list. This rule does not apply to backup players and you wont be affected by this rule if you can get your backup player to fill in for you in a week that you'll miss.
