On Wednesday, 1/30/2018, from 4-8 PM (central time zone) we'll all be listening to and rating the songs from the Nintendo Wii-U Music Competition. Shortly before each song finishes, I'll give users a link to where they can rate each song and the song submitters get points for any rating above a 3 (out of 5).
I will be hosting this event on my Twitch channel and I'll be giving away a total of $250 worth of Steam Games in the form of Vizzed Raffle Tickets which can be used to redeem Steam games and other digital games including eShop, Uplay and more. The Raffle Tickets can also be traded into the Vizzed Market for 10,000 Viz each.
The more songs you rate, the higher your chances are of winning a raffle after the stream is over. Each rating you make during the stream is basically another entry in the raffle. There will be over 1000 digital games that winners will be able to pick from. You can see a full list of redeemable games here:

Here's your chance to be part of the awesome team that helps keep the site going with new content and content management. Being part of the staff is of course volunteer work but you do at least get rewarded with lots of Viz (which lets you redeem game codes in the Vizzed Market) and also CP. It also lets you strengthen any skills that you might want to use for a future career. For example, write a bunch of Game Guides, Articles or Reviews and use those as examples of what you're capable of when applying for a future job in the industry. Additional benefits of joining the staff include:
-Access to exclusive features and forums
-Access to features before they're released
-Access to games and systems that aren't available to everyone
-Recognition and respect from the staff and vizzed community
-You'll be granted a permanent Elite member position (which is the highest non-staff position on the site that offers some staff benefits) after you've left staff assuming you were a staff member for at least 3 months and earned at least 1000 CP toward your staff roles
Application will be closed on January 25th and then the current staff will vote on who they think should join the staff. The new staff will be hired January 29th.

As of last winter, the Tour de Vizzed has 2 updates. A new "gray" banner has been added for veteran users who have been registered for more than 7 years. The TdV is now biannual and will take place only in January and July from now on.
Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day
It's time to elect the 2 users who will be admins of the site in 2019. Only 3 of the 5 Global Moderators are running for the 2 Admin positions. You can vote for 2 Admins. They're listed below, click them to see their application:

Be sure to visit the site each day to claim your random Viz gift!

The new team of moderators have been hired. If you didn't get hired, please don't feel bad or left out. There were so many amazing choices to choose from and so the voters really had to find a way to narrow it down. I'm happy and comfortable with the team selected and we even had a surprise 11th pick added to the team that the moderators themselves voted in. Anyways, if you weren't voted in, there will more than likely be users stepping down for various reasons and their spots will most likely be filled quickly. I also plan to do something similar with the Site Staff soon so please reapply for that if any of you are at all interested
The team and I will do our best to bring this forum back to the level of activity and excitement it once had. And we need more than just the moderators to accomplish this goal, we need the contribution of the entire community so with that said, let's all work together to revive this cyber family
Alright, where do I begin. It's been the roughest year for Vizzed and its community. The site's traffic hasn't been this low since 2010 and the posting hasn't been this low since 2007. There has been a lot of division on the forum and the site has been missing its leader. Not only has 2018 been a low point for the site, it has also been the roughest year I've ever experienced in my personal life. Having to deal with things in my life that I never thought I'd ever have to go through and then having to battle some horrible nights of severe depression in its purest form. But 2018 is almost over and 2019 is almost here. Vizzed has its leader back and I'm optimistic for 2019. The site has already begun picking up over the past few weeks and the forum has been revived and rejuvenated as of a few days ago.
Despite the negativity of 2018, the site did receive a lot of much needed enhancements and features that I've been promising for many years. I finally created a Theme Creator which gives users the ability to create and share their own themes to use on Vizzed and I'm also going to be doing seasonal competitions where users can create a theme for a competition with the reward of having it used on the site for a short duration (like the current Christmas Theme Competition). I Fixed Most of the RGR Games, Upgraded RetroArch, and rebuilt the Netplay Sessions page. I purchased an SSL certificate so that the Vizzed.com URL is now HTTPS. I created a Requests Page to help organize and prioritize what needs to be done. I even added around 1000 video game soundtracks (totaling nearly 20,000 songs) to the Video Game Music Room.
Besides adding new stuff, I also did a lot of enhancing to what we currently have. Pages that I completely rebuilt from the ground up and migrated to the new site code include: Netplay Sessions, Show Posts and Announcements. And I'm hoping to get the remaining outdated site pages migrated before the year ends. I also fixed a lot of stuff which include: Reply to Post Summoning, Various Cosmetic Issues, Smilies and many other little things here and there.
I had promised a new direction for Vizzed and more involvement with the community earlier in the year but that was soon derailed by certain life events but I believe I'm back on track at making these changes happen. In 2019, I'll be investing more of my time into the community and will be prioritizing features that benefit the forum. I'm also going to work on making the site more customizable and even offer opportunities for qualified users to help out with the site and various site pages.
I've done something radical. I've demoted all of the moderators. Clean start. Rebuilding the team from the ground up. There have been too many complaints about the moderators over the years and it has resulted into a lot of members leaving, resulting into a massive drop in activity. It's time to let the community help choose who gets to have the power to be above them. Letting the Moderators choose who becomes a Moderator opens the doors for corruption and abuse of power.
I have 10 Local Moderator positions available. All you have to do is reply to the below thread with an application explaining why you think you deserve to be a Local Moderator and how you plan to make this a better place. Make it convincing and be honest, because the entire community will be involved with voting on who gets promoted.
2 Global Moderators will be chosen from the 10 Local Moderators. Voting for this will begin after the 10 Local Moderators have been promoted but this time those 10 Local Moderators will vote on who is most deserving of Global Mod. No one will be made an admin for the time being, I'll let time determine who is worthy of the admin position and at some point have an election for those 2 spots.
The Local Moderator applications will be available until December 5th and voting will last about a week (these times may change depending on participation). If you have any questions at all, let me know in this thread:

All demoted staff members are eligible to apply for this and most likely have a great shot at getting the same position back. This mass demotion isn't targeting anyone, I just find it easier to revive Vizzed if I first start with reviving the staff (the team responsible for helping me make this happen) since a forum's success is often determined by the staff.
