You can once again upload videos to the Vizzed Gameplay Videos channel on YouTube from game pages on Vizzed!

You can find the link on a game's page in the Gameplay section
1760492716.png

At the moment, the file size limit is 256MB 1GB. I want to be cautious with the file size limit to make sure it doesn't slow down the website. In the past, there was suspicions that the site would get slow while someone was uploading a large file, since the videos have to upload to the Vizzed Server first, and then to YouTube from the Vizzed Server.

For the time being, I've also limited Public visibility to Trusted members and up, to avoid people uploading bad stuff and abusing it (this has happened in the past). Anyone that isn't a Trusted Member will have their video set to Unlisted and then me or a staff member will have to manually set the video to Public from the YouTube channel. Users who are editors of the Vizzed Gameplay Videos channel include:
VizzedPatron_16x16.pngDavidMcC1989 :
sonikku :

EDIT: I want to point out that the reason this took so long to get fixed was because I kept making attempts to fix the current script with no luck. Probably 10 hours worth of failed attempts. Eventually I just rebuilt the script from the ground up, which was also time consuming but worked.

This is great news! It's such a neat feature of the website for users to showcase their adventures or funny/weird clips of things they found.

I think making public visibility trusted+ is smart. Do newbies and members still get credited their Viz and CP when they upload or the moment their video becomes public?

Yes, non trusted users would still get CP and Viz for uploading videos but it'd be up to a day after their video goes live.

I'm excited to see it working again but I do wonder how to record anything of decent length in decent quality I wanna record newer games to upload videos on but I'll have to see what I can do to not totally ruin the quality to get below 256 mb.

I see your point. Could do it in parts. What would you think is a good maximum file size?

I'll have to mess with some settings to get a better idea for sure but right now if I wanted to record with my elegato with base settings which I believe captures stuff at the source resolution a 25 min video is already 3.70GB but I'll try messing with some settings so I have a better answer within a few days.

I've increased the limit to 1GB. I doubt I'll go above that. Maybe there could be a special day where I increase it for just a day to allow people to upload their large files, but otherwise I fear there are too many potential issues with having it higher than that.

Some also worth noting is that when a person is uploading a file, the rest of the site will become slow for that person during their file upload. I'm assuming it's just for them though, I don't think the site becomes slower for everyone else, but I haven't really had a chance to test this out with anyone.

SonicOlmstead : Hopefully the limit increase helps out. A lot of videos aren't very compressed, and I don't really have recommendations on free software that would help compress video files. I would recommend Freemake, but it tries tricking you into installing so much garbage during the installation process, so you have to be careful with that.

cafeman55 : I see your video live. What was the issue you were having so that I can modify the uploader or make it more clear on how to use it?

Nice addition! We were missing the gameplay videos and such, this opens up several doors for probable projects so we'll see if the community responds.

I won't be one of those as I don't like recording my clumsy gameplay and any video I actually record is just material for my guides. Not sure if it could actually be good material for the channel, I guess we could look into it when it fully kicks on again.

I personally have a ton of videos that I've recorded on the Xbox One and Switch over the years so I'll definitely be utilizing this in the near future.

I want to point out that the reason this took so long to get fixed was because I kept making attempts to fix the current script with no luck. Probably 10 hours worth of failed attempts. Eventually I just rebuilt the script from the ground up, which was also time consuming but worked.

classgame : I'm not sure what you mean. When you upload video from a game's page, that video becomes available on the game's page and on the Vizzed Channel.

cafeman55 : Can you tell me the error you get? How big is the file size? What is the file size format? And could you share with me the details you used? If possible, take a screenshot of the screen.

For anyone who was having troubles using the Vizzed YouTube Uploader, the reason it stopped working is related to the tmp directory of my server reaching it's max limit of (which is around 4GB) and that mostly happened because my script wasn't deleting the videos from the server after it'd upload them. This has been fixed.

cafeman55 : Let me know if you're still having issues.

classgame : Yes it would.

So there is a coding error on the game page like cafeman mentioned. When a video is uploaded, it will appear on the game page (for example SonicOlmstead's video here: https://www.vizzed.com/videogames/game.php?id=132460)

However when you click on the video link, it will take you to a broken page. Upon inspection it seems the link the game page puts for the video is broken.

The URL of the link underneath Sonic's video on the game page is the following:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWFb0JXNp48

Instead of just putting the video ID after the '?v=' part, it puts the whole link there again instead, causing Youtube to say that video doesn't exist.
