Not sure if a US version game works on a European 3DS.

It's just the fact that for some reason we get it later, again. Which I don't understand since X and Y released worldwide at the same time.

That's a really sad thing to happen. I mean I don't get why they would release a game in one area first instead of doing it global word wide which would be a lot more easier and people don't have to get upset about this. Its ok to be angry you have your reasons as of why. 

I feel you! There really is no reason to not release it worldwide at the same time. 

This release almost makes want to get a 3DS... That's how much I feel like this game'll be awesome!

A lot of games have this issue. Everything from localization,translation,and the market in that region. And sometimes makers and publishers just make stupid moves. Like Capcom blaming fans for the fates of some of their games.

Furret : So true. I live in the U.S., but I'm a little sick of Nintendo dating their games to be released later in other countries. But Nintendo earns most of their cash from the U.S., so they try to get the games out quickly to boost up their cash. Don't worry, though, only a few more days.

I really have no idea why they didn't release the English version of the new Pokemon game in English-speaking European countries at the same time as they released the game in the US. It makes no sense to delay it. A bit of helpful advice, by the way - 3DS games are region-locked, so ordering a US copy to play on your most-likely European 3DS would only get you a useless piece of plastic that doesn't work on your system. I learned that through experience.

I agree with you. It is almost impossible to navigate YouTube with all the spoilers in the thumbnails (and the recommended videos thingy is very annoying too). Sadly they spoiled some information already. Oh well... I'm still looking forward to play the games.

That's why you do what I do, avoid Youtube for like 2 weeks. It's painful, but it sure is worth it. I haven't come across any spoilers, thankfully.

With all respect, I don't care about Nintendo anymore. Just my personal opinion, I respect people who love it, but after watching what happened with recent fangame ssuch as AM2R, Pokemon Uranium, dammit, even No Mario's Sky which was just supposed to be a joke, all of them got DMCA'd because "Nintendo can and Nintendo will", Nintendo has just lost my respect after this.

Of course, I'm not telling they're wrong or that they should "watch how SEGA does it" (which actually should be the right thing, SEGA respects their fanbase as much as Capcom respects theirs), but just think about it: is Nintendo really being hurt in any way because of those famgames?

This and the whole "region lock" thing which, I don't know why, still exists for them and they think it's something normal to do in such recent times as 2016 and loads of indie games coming with no restrictions whatsoever. I seriously don't understand Nintendo anymore.

We have always gotten games later (nintendo aren't the only ones that do this) so I have come to expect games to be here later than the rest of the world. I don't think translation is the major reason as certain games such as Kirby superstar ultra deluxe,megaman zx came out in Europe a whole year after the US got it.


I think it is to do with the rating system and checking process as it is different here than in the US. Especially in countries like Australia and new zealand which is probably why they usually get games a lot later than most. Censorship is another factor that comes into play over here and in Australia so that can take a while.

Mind you release dates isn't r as bad as it used to be as I said earlier we used to get games 2 years later than america and japan.

Also we have been getting nintendo games earlier than america in recent years (paper jam, ace attorney and professor layton crossover, mario and luigi dream team,sonic lost world on wii u etc) so I am starting to wonder if it is just laziness at this point.

Furret : I would assume the reason Europe gets a later release has to do with local translations, like German, Spanish and French versions of the game. Considering newer Pokemon games have let you select the language at the start. It's the reason some games release in the UK before doing so in the rest of Europe. Though in this case kind of unfair to those living in smaller countries who are going to play the English version anyway. Like Dylan said the different rating systems probably also play a part in it.

Heck, The Galapagos had the first Pokémon game since 1978 (They get things well before the rest of the world) so if this site were around back in 1978 then I could understand you being mad. I think the delay is so they can get the UK English in the game (It has some words spelled differently than the US English) I wonder if Australia has to wait (That is, if their English is spelled differently with some words like the UK)
