This is a feature I've been wanting to implement for a while now. Basically this would allow you to Like someone's Like. So if you liked the fact that someone liked a post, you can like their like.

What do you all thinks?

Could you continue doing this forever?

In that case, consider this idea of liking a like liked

It's confusing how you explain it, but i get the idea now. It sounds great! But would the person who gets a like for their like get Viz?

I don't like this, I dislike the fact that you'd be able to like someone's like if you will. This idea scares me and I'd like to go home now.

I think 'likes' are a lazy version of complimenting someone or agreeing with them. Imagine if we didn't have the like system and you had to contribute a thread either discussing your agreement or disagreement instead of clicking a single button. Think of the number of posts that might get posted if that were to happen.

Likes are okay. They're fine and they're a snapshot in a quick conversation about what people think.

I think liking a like is overboard and really serves no point. If you tip the hat to someone who nodded at someone else's thoughts, what has really been achieved? Are we looking to just pump up the number of likes because it's a metric and the website can say, "40 billion likes over one year?"

What's the objective of liking a like? If it's just to add a feature, okay, but shouldn't time be spent on projects that will have a larger impact in creating a stronger community that contributes more?

Ghostbear1111 : Considering this was a thread made in the crazy house forum I'm pretty sure it was meant as a joke by David not a serious feature. If it is I would certainly agree it would be going kind of overboard. As for the like system in general I agree it can be somewhat counter productive at least having the dislike button, its been discussed several times in the past.

I like that people are liking the idea of being able to like someone's like. But what if I could dislike that someone liked someone's like of a like of a like of a like? Or can we only like likes of likes?

I dislike the idea of liking the likes because its like hey look at me I am likable someone likes me.
This is likely a bad idea as all the trolls will likely dislike just to dislike so that the likes don't get more likes.
You and your likes or dislikes it's likely dislikable.
The likeliood of me liking this feature is none.
It's not like I give a damn either way.

Reminds me of the classic "picture within a picture" loops. You'd see a picture, and that picture would scroll inwards revealing the previous picture over and over again. I think it's dangerous and a menace to society. I mean, what's to prevent people from just liking one post over and over and over again until the end of time? It's like people standing around saying "Thank you."; "You're welcome! Thank you for saying thank you."; "You're welcome! Thank you for saying thank you", etc. This will literally break the internet and bring about the downfall of humanity. In short, you must abort.

I'm personally looking forward to the disliking a dislike feature so I can watch the petty dislike wars. Gotta love that internet drama, man. Oh, and staff should be able to dislike more dislikes than trusted and below, just because they're staff.
