We all loved certain toys when we were younger. We played soccer/football, we played with dolls or LEGO or we won games with our marbles. But at some point, you have to say: "I am too old for this now..." And you can sell it or keep it for family members or your children. But whatever you did with it now, it will be always in your thoughts... Those days you played with your toys when you were younger. Or, if you're still young, the days you still play with them.

But what was/were your toy(s) you used to entertain yourself with?

Mine were, and secretly still are, LEGO bricks. I got my first DUPLO set when i was 4 and quickly went to the LEGO side when i was 6. And now, 10 years later... I can't release them. It's my semi-fantastic childhood that has been in them. I can't release them. I recently got three sets from my parents. They won 2 of them at an amusement park nearby, and the third one was a gift from the owner. That's nice, right?

EDIT: Never mind my layout. It's something that happened yesterday in the chatroom. What matters is the question, right?

MarioLucarioFan64 : when I was around 8 years old I used to own a G.I. JOE headquarters which had a battery operated light on top that I won from a contest and I had a G.I. JOE figure that was the size of a barbie doll it had a complete uniform and a gun with a shoulder strap these would have probably been great collector,s items but sadly I had to get rid of them when I was a child I never thought that someday toys like these would become collector,s items and they did not have internet back then unlike now where I could always find out on E bay or amazon

I was three or four years old when I was potty trained to finalize my skills in the bathroom. I remember getting a red Fiero toy car that was probably 8 to 10 inches long. I was always a fan of cars, like Matchbox cars or Micro Machines and I would play with them for hours.

That Fiero was my all-time favorite toy that just kinda stayed around through my life. I had it when I was in middle school and I used it in high school on different school projects. I just liked it and I figured it wasn't like a stuffed animal that was going to damage my reputation. It wasn't uncool so it stayed around.

I hit 18, I joined the Marines, and I dumped all the stuff I owned. I decided that the path I was taking meant I had to leave everything else behind. I threw that car out a week after I graduated high school.

I still think about it but I don't feel like I'm missing anything because it's gone now. But it lasted a solid 14 years in my life. It was a fun toy.

Yes! I still haven't let it go, lol. In 1st grade, right before Christmas Break, we had a Secret Santa thing in our class. We were like 6 years old, so stuffed animals were the thing back then. Ironically, I had to gift something to my best friend , and received a gift from another one of my best friends. I got my friend a penguin stuffed animal, since that was his favorite animal, and he really liked it. I got a really cute tiger stuffed animal. I even named it a cute name, Tommy the tiger. Every time we had "bring your stuffed animal" day at school, I would bring him with me. He's been through a lot and has even lost half of his right eye. I don't play with him or anything anymore, but I still have him in my room and it brings back nice memories every now and then. I've had him for almost 9 years, and I don't plan on throwing him away anytime soon

I've never really cared for any of my other toys or anything like that, and haven't been emotionally attached to any of my childhood possessions. This is the one that has the most sentimental value to me.

Literally every Transformer I have. Granted, I broke most of the one I had as a kid, but the ones I have in working order, I plan to never give up.

For instance, I have this one Optimus Prime figure which doesn't fit in my collection at all, but he looks so good I think I'll just give him his own shelf to display him one I get a replacement.

I had an orange snuggle pillow that I called "Mr. Hippo". He could become a hippo, or unfold into a pillow. It was brilliant. Boy, did I love that pillow. Then I got an actual hippo and that became irrelevant. True story.

RDay13 : Omg i remember stuffed animal day lmao.

Mine is a stuffed animal too, it's a cow. He's still in my room after some 10 years. And he's in pretty good condition

I used to be, and still somewhat am attached to stuffed animals. I guess I'm pretty sentimental, too.
I actually think i got him when I was on vacation with appelmoesFTW,

EDIT: edited to fix my poor wording.

The Toys I could not let go of was some of my lego sets and my Gi Joes. Growing up in the 80's and 90's those were awesome. When I played with my toys those were the two I played. The Lego sets I had were the space themed ones, the middle aged themed ones, the insect themed ones, and the forest themed ones. Gi joes I had were the Battle Corps line, space themed joes, and the eco warriors.

I'm now in my 30's as I will be 32 in January and I still have these things put up somewhere. I have never gotten rid of them or gave them away. I'm glad I didn't because the Joes are now collectors items.

I'm not attached to them or anything but I've got a few Pokemon that I still have from many years ago when I actually used to play with them. I think I'm holding onto them now because one of my cousins is starting to get into Pokemon, but I've donated most others to charity. Not sure why I decided to keep these others back when I was figuring out which I would donate and which would be kept.

I still have all my legos if that counts.

Also still have one wooden train set I don't think I'll ever give away.
I think it's like 3 or 4 generations old.

Furret :
LEGO's count.

And geez, 3 or 4 generations?! Well, then that train is stuck with your family a long time. Better keep it safe if you want to use it for next generations.

Stuffed animals yes some or many I still have them in my house on my bed. Especially one from sailor moon, and a big teddy bear too.I wouldn't let them go even though I may be 25 years, I like having my stuff animals around me. XD

I used to have Lego man it was so fun....it seem to somehow disappear? Maybe my mother was the reason for that like throwing stuff like what toys I used to have away. She would only let me keep the stuff animals so, that is something to be happy about since I would have something for keeps.

Generally speaking, I dislike throwing stuff away. I always get a gut feeling about a random item that I might be able to use it for something in the future. As far as toys go, we had to leave just about everything we had behind when we were evicted from out apartment in Nashville, but I still have my first videogame console, our Sega Genesis, and all the games that were originally gifted to us with it. We've obtained a lot more games and a second Genesis that's in better shape since, but if I had to give one up, it would be the one we bought and not the one that was given to us. Same with our first Nintendo 64 and the games that came with it. It no longer works, but I'm holding onto it for when we have it fixed.
