Working on the site is something I do full time and previously the ad revenue covered both my employment and the site expenses and server fees, however, the ad revenue has taken some drops over the past few years (traffic drops, ad blocks, mobile devices, etc) so I'm no longer able to invest 40-60 hours into the site a week like I love doing.

Here are the tiers which you can also find on the above page (I plan to add more soon):

$2 a Month
-Access to a Patron Exclusive forum
-All RGR Games Cost 0 Viz
-All Ads Removed

$5 a Month
-Access to All RGR Games (including PS1 games and beta ticket exclusive games)
-Added to my Vizzed friends list, Skype, Xbox Live and/or Steam (permanently)
-Earn 1.25x more Viz for everything you do *
-All Previous Rewards

$10 a Month
-Access to Almost All Site Features (all the features that require special items)
-All of your Private Messages are prioritized (I'll make sure to get to them within 24-48 hours)
-Earn 1.5x more Viz for everything you do *
-All Previous Rewards

$25 a Month
-You get to have some input on what features I invest my time into
-Promoted to Vizzed Elite if you're not already (you get to permanently keep it if you do this tier for at least 1 year)
-Earn 1.75x more Viz for everything you do *
-All Previous Rewards

$50 a Month
-1 undivided hour of my time a month (spent in any way that you want)
-Ability to change your username color whenever you want as often as you want (your final color is permanent if you do this tier for at least 1 year)
-Earn 2x more Viz for everything you do *
-All Previous Rewards

$100 a Month
-I'll invest 8 hours a month toward any feature that you request (either a new feature or a current feature)
-Ability to change your username border color whenever you want as often as you want (your final color is permanent if you do this tier for at least 1 year)
-Ability to change your username whenever you want as often as you want for 0 Viz (no more than once per a day)
-All Previous Rewards


*The multipliers from these rewards would be added to the current multipliers that users already have based on their CP total. So if a user already has a 1.5 multiplier on Vizzed, the $10 a Month tier would turn that into a 2x multiplier.

All rewards would only be active while the user is an active patron (unless stated otherwise).

$1500 = Full Time!
This would be enough to allow me to go back to working on the site full time again. If it doesn't end up being the case, this could potentially be increased to $2000 but I really think that between the site ad revenue, donations and that amount, I'd be able to cover all site expenses and work full time on the site again with no problem.

$2,000 = Money Will Be Invested!
I'll invest up to $500 back into the site each month and Patrons will have a say in how I invest it.

$2,500 = RGR Plugin Updates!
This would give me the extra budget to invest into updates for the RGR Plugin again.

$3,500 = Mobile RGR Plugin
I'll start investing money into having a mobile version of the RGR Plugin developed which will allow Android and/or iOS users to play some popular RGR systems on their device.

Know I can actually used Patreon instead of Paypal since have been using them for a bit and haven't had issues. (don't like that have to wait a month for it to actually be taken out, but can still use it) After the past 2 paychecks, I've gained back what had lost during my time spent away from surgery. But took a bit before happened cause of the system that the company uses is kind of...dumb? Ludicrous? whatever terminology you want, but had to wait essentially 3 weeks before could get losses back. (since pay you for prior week instead of current, since missed month couldn't get payed for 1st week was back since was based on week I wasn't there)

AAAANNNYYYWAYYYYYY...Now that explanations are out of way, Know have pledged 40$ to the patreon page (Firestar01234), I'm not sure if I could do this every month it all depends on what's going on inbetween months. That and the fact that once Sept 19th comes around I won't be in that position anymore since 6 month work-period will be over (or at least should be) so will be trying to hold off on things till know can get a permanent position there, look elsewhere, or reapply for same position after 6 month hold period. I'm also not sure if the google wallet you mention takes out transaction right away like amazon, youtube, or what not would....so in upcoming remaining weeks might still support that way so wouldn't have to wait till sept 30th.

Thanks for adding this additional way (and possibly google wallet if does work like would hope above) since would've wanted to beforehand but Paypal was only route and my family doesn't want me involved with that site so couldn't do much. Hope this helps out, know 40$ isn't a lot towards the goal and would love to donate more but with waiting period coming up soon, am having to watch where am stepping now for sure.

SuperGustafson9 : No you DON'T.

All RGR games just cost no Viz if you pledge 2 dollars or more, which is a digital currency that you can get PLENTY of without paying a single dime. If you pay 5 dollars a month I believe that you can play the few restricted systems that you would usually have to get a 50K Viz item like the PSX.

I can access all systems, and I am someone who makes no money a month, and probably won't be able to for a while.

SuperGustafson9 : As stated above, this is not a way of charging you to play games on this site. David is just looking to give those willing to donate money to help him run the site in the way he would like a few extra perks (dependent on the levels listed in the beginning).

When I first joined the site, I was charged Viz to play games (which can be earned simply by being an active member and contributing on the site) and I always had enough to play the games I wanted. I don't think there are any plans to change that.

If you note, the first tier (which literally only costs $24 a year, or the equivalent of sacrificing a cup of coffee a month) just says that you are no longer charged Viz for playing any of the RGR games. So you can save those Viz (if you so desire) for other items you might want to purchase from the store.

Anyone with an internet connection, mobile phone, roof over their head and money to eat can afford a measly $2 a month to play games (not that you have to pay real money to play you can still pay with viz). I don't think people realize how hard it is to run your own business and make enough money to cover it and your family at the same time. David's been working on this site well over 10 years and many of those years he made no money on it. When he finally did earn money off the site he invested a ton back into it ($30,000 in the RGR plugin in addition to the monthly server fees). 

This sounds very nice, but do take care not to let anybody abuse such system, David. I will sign up for $5 a month just to support the site after I get myself a stable income. I've been here for 6 years, supporting in many ways as possible and I'm not going to stop now. I hope that things will be better with this system.

My income should become more reliable soon so I should be able to do this, I'm glad you started one.

Honestly, 2 dollars a month to play over 10,000 retro games, on a plugin that is constantly updated and improved, without having to grind Viz is already a pretty sweet deal, much better I wager than a lot of sites. Even so, it is virtually free anyway with how easy it is to gain Viz just by visitng the site and such.

Anyway, I've been meaning to donate recently, but never got  around to doing so. I've already pledged 10 dollars a month simply because I love this site and want it to keep going.

Wow, you really managed to put it up quick. It's nice it didn't took long, and besides we already have people helping out. Let's see if this spark can start a fire soon.

Like I said when we were discussing the features for patrons, I'll start job hunting soon, so let's see if I manage to get a reliable and constant source of income and sign up for the high tiers. There are a couple things in which I could use those hours of your time you offer, so let's hope I can afford those levels at least long enough so my requests are completed.

As others have stated, I'll need a source of income before even doing the lowest tier...

A few questions for when I can sign up: 

Will the payments be automatic like a phone bill? I've never really done any kind of online subscription before

If so, is it simple enough to cancel at anytime?

Are the 'perks' automatic or can we choose to keep the ads? I know this is my first bookmark on my browser and, much like Facebook, even if I have no business here I click the link nearly every day. I fear I'll be taking away more than giving at the $2 tier if I have the ads blocked lol

VizzedFan2016 : Exactly. What a lot of people don't realize is that I've invested a lot of money into this site beyond just the server fees. $30,000+ invested into the RGR Plugin over the course of 6+ years comes down to $5000+ a year.

danielbelitch : I think users get charged the 1st of every month.

A user can cancel at any time but as soon as they do, they'll be stripped of their perks.

It's currently not possible to choose to view the ads with these perks but $2 is far more than what I make from an individual person each month.

I think this makes much more sense than asking for vague donations each month.

By promising certain items and/or results from a donation (like this), you are held accountable and it makes us think our money isn't wasted on virtual currency that only specific few want at specific times.

I can't say I'll be donating given my limited income, but I can say this makes it infinitely more likely.

Well, I don't have an actual credit card, but I will make an account with Patreon to check to see how I could possibly pledge in other ways. I'm sure I could scrape together at least $2 if not $5 a month.

I actually just sold my old car, and though it didn't bring in much (since it was a piece of junk by this point lol), I do have a tiny bit of spare cash I could put aside for donating to the site. Also, I should have some more side jobs / things to sell that happen soon, which I could definitely send some of it in to help.

If I end up unable to use Patreon, I'll donate in some other way.

Just curious, who would develop the RGR plugin if you had the funds?

earthwarrior : A very talented programmer from Rockstar Computer is on here known as tom760 who would probably do the updates (I'm assuming as he has done them in the past). I just viewed his profile on here and he has not been on in over 8 months so not sure if he is up to developing it anymore. Either way, David will find a way to get it upgraded.

I have just one quick question before I click the "Confirm" button to start pledging.

I know we can obviously cancel at anytime if need be, but is it also possible to switch tiers at any time? I would like to donate as much as possible starting out, and if I am unable to keep giving the same amount each month, is it possible to lower my tier? Or am I stuck at the amount I started with for a certain period of time?

Any help or information about this would be greatly appreciated
(I've never used a service like this before, so I'm unsure of the details of how it works.)

Out of curiosity, how do mobile devices hurt this site? I've been stuck using mobile devices (phone and tablet) for the past few months ever since my laptop got fried.
Also, I would love to help, but I'm struggling just to save up what little I make a week for a new computer. Sorry.

Lord Leggy - King of IT : A one time donation is better for a newer user or someone who doesn't like commitment but other than that, the Patreon pledge is definitely the way to go.

VizzedFan2016 : I'm not sure if Tom wants to do updates anymore. Also, he never uploaded the source code for the latest version and doesn't have a copy of it so the last version source that I have available is version 2.25.

jokool : It's harder to monetize mobile devices. I can't incorporate the same ads with them and since mobile devices have more restrictions, I also can't have as many ads for them.
