As I and a lot of other people have suspected, they did reveal a Modern Sonic game. After I watched this, I was so confused, but hyped nontheless. It's not Generations 2, but I would like to know why and how Classic Sonic is there. Seriously, though, I'm really excited. Hopefully I can get one of the consoles it's for, because I'm pretty sure it won't run on my computer. What do you all think about this?

Well, I have some hope that this will be a good Sonic game because after the debacle that was Sonic Boom, SEGA can't afford to put out another crappy game in the Sonic series. If I do eventually get it, it'll either be the PS4 or NX version. I'll be buying both systems, so I guess I'll make my decision once Nintendo actually decides to show the NX and finally give us an official name for the console. What games will be coming out early in the NX's lifespan will give me an idea of whether to buy the PS4 or NX version of the new Sonic title, if I even get it.

I'm a little interested, but cautious.

This looks rather interesting and promising....maybe it will fix the long line of sonic games before previously which wasn't so good? I agree what leggy has to say wait until the reviews are done for this game. I really hope for this to be a great game to play. If so I will find a way to play this thank you for doing this type of thread. Since the fans are pretty much been upset how the games have been as of late. So maybe for this one it would be worth to play? We can only wait hope and see what happens.

In all seriousness, this could obviously go either way. The fact they showed Zero game play, not even just a couple seconds, leaves me really curious more than anything. I mean I really want to know what the game play is like more than anything, since that determines for the most part how good of a game it will be.
And the set up for the story is just as vague, meaning it could also go either way in my eyes. For all we know, it could be the most cliché and played out plot line that's no different than a hundred or more games we've seen in the past. The only thing here that came off as interesting to me is the fact that there's 2 different Sonics, but at the same time, hasn't this idea been done once already?

I'm completely with Leggy on this one. I'd advise waiting and seeing how it does before spending any money on a pre-order or buying day one

WOW! Looks totally epic! Hopefully this will be even better than my first and favorite sonic game, Sonic Colors. I know a lot of people say that a lot of the sonic games aren't that great. But, I'm not sure I get it. With sonic colors as my favorite, Sonic and the black knight makes for a close runners up. Yeah, I know it's corny, it's silly and sonic gets a sword when he doesn't need it. That's why it's so awesome! It changes what you would typically expect from a sonic game, but i guess change isn't something that's always all that welcome.

C. Unfinished levels, broken physics, and constant loading screens.

I am actually really excited to see where they go with this game. I am excited, but as others have said, I'm a bit cautious with this title. It  looks like it could be great though!

I personally don't really care about Sonic so I'm not really impressed or curious about this but one of my best friends is dying to know about it so I guess I'll learn more whenever he screams at me about it.

As long as they do not have the 2006 team working on it,it should be decent. I do have a trial of Sonic 4 for PS3 and it works well enough.

I'm really hoping Sega hits it out of the park with this one.I love the death-egg robos and tclassic sonic's return.Seems like they may be bringing back an actual overarching plot into the series.I'm also cool with the darker, edgier vibe going on here.Though I know most people won't like it, I think it's about time Sega got at least a bit more serious after Lost world and Sonic Boom.All in all, I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

Also, if this is any indication of what a Sonic movie will be like, I'm all in for that.

I really hope that it follows the Sonic Adventure style gameplay at the very least, kind of like a spiritual successor with an overworld - that's what I liked most about Sonic Adventure. Though I won't but it immediately I will wait and see what happens. Another thing I want is for there to be more than just Modern and Classic Sonic appearing - even though the game series is Sonic, this game appears to be more story based and I hope that means we get to play a few other characters (mainly Knuckles, Tails, Shadow).

Man, I have really high hopes for this game and Sonic Mania, but to be honest, I am more hyped for this one. Because more of a Modern fan myself, I don't think Sonic will fail with this new game.

The fact that they started it out with saying "from the team that brought you sonic colours and sonic generations" gives me a little bit of hope. It doesn't mean this will be as good as any of those games but it does mean that they at least seem to recognize now that games like that are what most fans want and are striving to create something like it. This also seems to actually be about going fast which is good in stead of basing the entire gameplay around unwanted gimmicks. Looking at the smaller stature of the other Sonic I assume it's supposed to be retro and modern Sonic, meaning this might be pretty similar to Generations set up wise.

Considering the dodgy track record with 3d sonic games though I'm not really holding my hopes up. I'll keep an eye on it and wait until reviews arrive before I'll consider getting it.

Zlinqx : Sonic Colours and Generations had different teams working on it so it could be a combination of both teams I guess?

I am interested in what this game will look like. I know Izuka said it isn't a sequel it may as well be Generations 2 at this point (unless there is something completely different about this game from generations but we won't know that till they show the gameplay). I probably won't get it immediately but I do have hope it will be a good game.

This is certainly Generations 2. It is the same thing as Sonic 06, as that was essentially Adventure 3, so if this is named something other than Generations 2, it will just be Generations 2 to me. I hope it mixes 2D style game play (hopefully more faithful to the Genesis version of Classic Sonic, the original Generations didn't have the best physics for 2D) and 3D Adventure style game play, most likely it will have boost game play mixed with Sonic Rush-type 2D, but we can hope. Join the Resistance makes me think that a Freedom Fighters story line just might make it to the games, meaning characters from Sonic Underground and the Sonic Sat AM series cartoons might finally make their video game debut. Can't wait for the first game play trailer.
