I've found myself with a bit of a problem. I am constantly stressed for some reason or other, now, whether it's school or work (or personal issues) related.

Usually, I just vent, and this works out, because my stress goes away and I feel better. It was healthy, and a good habit I had taken in over the years. But now, I'm not allowed to do that anymore (for reasons I won't disclose, since that would just contribute to my stress).

So I need to find a new way to relieve stress, that I am allowed to do.

I often stress out a lot from school as well. I normally just listen music once in a while and take a hot shower once or twice day to help relieve my stress.

I guess I also watch random funny youtube videos. (usually the most legit prank videos I can find or anything that's funny enough) Sometimes I rapidly just keep punching a pillow alone in my room so many times until I calm down. That stuff usually helps for me but everyone might be different.

Depends on the level of stress; if I have a low level of stress, I grab my skateboard and go skate somewhere. If I have a medium level of stress, I'll just go to the gym and hit the bags for about an hour. High level of stress, I won't even be at my PC.

I usually just listen to music, play games or read a book. If the stress is accompanied by anger though, I jog around the campus and play with my dog (if I'm at home). If I have the time, I either go to the gym to hit some bags or to the arcade to hit some... bags as well. Oh, and stress eating of course. As long as you're not habitually doing it, it should be fine.

I just lie down or change the subject. Or play a game. Did you try stretching? If I do that, my stress can evaporate.

Since you aren't really telling us anything, it's tough to understand your stress and react to it.

When I have stress at work, it comes from complaints, schedule difficulties, unhappy members, conflict between staff members, and other problems from my boss.

My resolution to deal with that stress is to solve the problem and settle the issue. Two members are fighting over a locker? We make a decision and someone walks away a winner and someone a loser. If we can find a way where everyone is happy, we do that first. Or I just get the job done and finish the schedule, finish payroll, complete the work, do the project, and execute.

Getting things done is a good way to deal with stress because it's no longer an issue.

The same goes for home. I was stressed an unhappy about the level of dirt in my garage. Yesterday, I took the time to toss some garbage, get cans out of the garage to the recycling center, sweep all the debris, move some toys around to make space, and now I feel better.

I approach the problem or the situation head on, deal with, and I'm better for it. That's how I deal with stress.

Do something you love to relax and forget why you are stressing so much. When I'm stressed I just see some video on youtube or something to disconnect my brain in some sorta way to calm down.

For me, self-care is absolutely vital in situations where outside issues beyond my control are causing me stress. This can include going for a massage, going to the gym, watching funny youtube videos, In an ironic way, in order to help others you have to be a bit selfish and put yourself first sometimes. You can't give away what you don't have.

Ironically, I'm failing at this lately lol. School has kept me insanely busy and sadly away from the gym more than I'd like, and so self-talk has been a key factor in helping me keep my cool. Sometimes you've got to work with what you've got, and make the best of it.

I usually join a skype call as it helps take my mind off things. Or, like a lot of people here I just watch some funny videos.

It's pretty difficult to give you a recommendation because people are all so different.

legacyme3 : who ever said your not allowed to vent was speaking utter nonsense if you need to vent then by all means PM me and I'll gladly hear you out and reply as soon as I see it since holding it inside you isn't good for your stress level ... another good way that I've found is to play a violent or semi violent video game and just pour out all of your anger and frustration into that ... CoD and Battlefield are good for that as is Assassin's Creed and Monster Hunter ... I might not have the system needed to play those games but you might have them so put them to good use and melt away your negative emotion into them

I hope I was able to help you out with this problem

Do anything you enjoy play games, watch videos, go out for a walk. The most thing people tend to o to relieve their stress is by complaining.....thats the truth sadly, and after that most feel better. It really depends on work works for you and the best way for it to take effect as well. No one likes stress. But we all have our own ways to relieving them out from us.

I've never been someone to vent about my every day problems to anyone. Partly because there are few people I trust enough and partly because I like having my personal space and would probably feel like I'm whining. In stead I would likely be doing something that allows me to take my mind off whatever is making me stressed. Basically just kind of take a break mentally. Activities like playing a video game (ideally something not that frustrating) or going to the gym usually help me do that.

In most cases my stress comes from having a lot of work piled up in the form of having assignments and stuff that's due since I'm somewhat of a chronic procrastinator causing me to feel overwhelmed. In truth I'd probably be best off actually dealing with problems as they arise or planning out/managing my time more. At this point though I've become used to this being the natural order of things that I find it hard to actually get assignments and things like that done early even if I've tried since I'm so used to working under pressure. In the end though I seem to still somehow manage for the most part, just causes me to be more stressed.

well for me , that just depends on how stressed I am.  For minor, day to day stresses, i have this sand stress ball....thing.  and i just squeeze it.  and squeeze it. alright, usually i get so stressed and it just pops.  poof.  just like that.  then there is sand all over my room and keyboard.   which, ironically enough, just makes me even more stressed. I mean, do you have any idea how hard it is to get thousands of tiny particles of sand from the nooks and crannies of a keyboard?   trust me when I tell you, it is painstaking and  irritating. then once i get double stressed from cleaning all the freaking sand from my room, i have a punching bag i keep in the garage.   that can take a few hits.  so I just go at the punching bag for an hour or so, maybe less, depending again on my overall stress level.

But that is just me.  for you, and i am saying this because i do not know you that well, maybe you can find a hobby or something. cooking maybe, or even better baking. or you can lie down for a few minutes.  that can be very relaxing. just tyr not to fall asleep =)

I usually game, read, watch tv,listen to music to forget about it. I usually do not like talking about it,I think it makes it worse. I love beating the snot out of the heavy bag. The feel of my gloved fist striking the bag, making it move under my own power and then the bag sways more and more as I lay on the punches.

I just let it flow through me like the force, stress makes me irrational, but it also makes me quick thinking and alert.
Plus I'm basically stressed one hundred percent of the time no matter what I do, so I may as well embrace it anyway. L

Well, I usually do one of two things, though I wouldn't suggest the first one because that may or may not end up resulting in broken windows. The one that I would suggest the most though is walking. Either walking with nothing, or while listening to some music. You can just walk around looking at whatever, or think about stuff, even if it's the thing that's making you stressed out, because you're going to slowly start forgetting about it. Maybe a half mile walk or so should be enough to get you thinking of something else and help you relax a bit.

I think I deal with stress by playing osu! lol because I naturally press the keys really hard and that's kind of both relieving my stress but also cramping up my arm, lol.

But in general I just play relaxing games, or if it's really bad, I'll also find a punching bag. Gotta love punching bags.

More than anything I would rely on some form of exercise. I will generally take the dog for a walk, or go for a run when I'm really stressed out. That, or just crank out some push ups or sit ups or something to simply wear myself out. Just use the stress / frustration to fuel the exercise, and sooner or later you'll burn it out of yourself, if that makes sense.
Listening to some form of slow or calming music can always help as well. I personally enjoy depressing music more than most, so listening to something like that (or any genre / type you prefer) is a nice way to relieve yourself of worry. Music is one of the greatest treasures in this world, and should be listened to at every opportunity, especially when it'll help you in any given way.

Meh, I guess I'd be lying if I posted I deal with stress by eating a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
