Good morning, fellow inhabitants of Vizzed. The question I so graciously ask of you today is this; why does one get banned? I'm sure it has something to do with violating the rules, but there has to be more to it. For example, Finalweapon. I didn't know him too well. He was just there and we occasionally spoke about things.  He had an awful lot of threads and posts, and was also quite active, so it intrigues me to know what does a user in.



What rules on Vizzed are not to be broken whatsoever? How long does it take a user to be banned? What precautions, methods, procedures, and warnings are used beforehand? Do they ever return after the ban? Please elaborate. Thanks for informing me.

Well you see.....he made another leaving thread again and it seems it made the higher ups to crack since he did it again and was told not too. Or more like said he won't do it again. As most people know the lead to get to a ban is either flaming other people, not listing to the mods when supposed too or using non nice words. like uh swearing a lot and breaking certain rules when you were warned at least 3 times. What final weapon has done its not new. He was warned not to edit a thread, a post or asking to trash a thread of his. Also leaving threads was another thing he did and if I am right he had made at least 4 or 5 of them. Its sad but he did get fair warnings and broke it. Its sad but it was coming in a way.

As long as you follow these rules you won't get banned. And how long it takes a user to be banned? It depends on the type of damage they did, some can go for a few days while some others....can go for a week or maybe longer than that. I've seen this happen before.

I would say more but its better if a mod elaborate more on it.

Eniitan explained things pretty well but I also have something to say:

As a former Local Moderator here on Vizzed, I can say that a ban doesn't come out of nowhere. A lot happens before someone gets a ban. I'm not completely sure if I am allowed to share the whole process information here. That's up to the current Moderators.

For the next time, I suggest not making a thread about why this or that user got banned. PM the Global Moderators about it instead. They know the most about why someone got a ban and by PM'ing you avoid potential drama.

It seems lately mods have been more forgiving. Final Weapon made a lot of "almost" leaving threads, until he finally made one. If I recall correctly, he was only banned for the last, "official" leaving thread...although I did warn him to be careful. He's not such a bad dude. He just made some bad choices. I hope he'll return with a fresh perspective and more happiness. But the mods had to do what they had to do.

I think the lesson we all can learn from this is:

Bans simply don't happen Unless your really disobedient.


Also: Final Weapon did a lot to get banned, it just happened.     Dude has some serious Problems to work over and he's refusing any type of help. 

Every one's warned him to stop making leaving threads.
Every one's told him we support him.


So on and So forth..  He's been getting on the mods bad side.

The mods were really trying to give this dude a chance too, instead of banning him for making a secondary account for cheating in the tdv,  they just took away his tp instead.




Quite frankly I'm about to stop helping him all together. I'm not trying to be a mean person per-say, but ever since Final Weapon lost his Trust points he's blown everything out of proportion.


FinalWeapon, if your reading this, in any way shape or form,  I don't mean to offend you but this has gone on long enough.   I hope after your ban get's lifted you decide to let what happened in the past, stay in the past.  Everyone makes mistakes,  unfortunately the harsh reality kicks in that we cannot fix those mistakes, but instead move on and learn from them.  The sooner you realize this, the easier vizzed will be and the easier life wiil be for you.

Most simply put, it depends on which rule is broken.
Some can be instant permabans while others might accumulate strikes against you.

To elaborate a bit on what was said we have a 3 strike system now which we didn't previously link here:

After that bans starts happening. So basically every time a user breaks the rules now we evaluate if it's serious enough to where the user should be given a strike. Once they reach 3 strikes within a certain amount of time that's when we start to hand out bans eventually leading to a perma ban.

This process is skipped if the rule breaking is severe enough that is doing things like post porn, extreme flaming etc. There can be some slight variety in specific cases but this is the general process we follow. This process is followed exactly  for the reason so we won't end up making any rash decisions.

Basically the point I want to make to you and anyone else who may feel worried is to assure you that we have our reasons for banning people. If a ban seems questionable it's likely because whatever the user did was the culmination of a series of rules being broken/not listening to the mods. Not a single instance. We've actually discussed the idea of having a forum where we'd explain the reason for banning people, it hasn't really been decided if it's something we'll actually go through with though.

This also applies to mods so if you do feel they've somehow abused their powers make sure to PM the details of why that is to whichever group is above that rank (so globals for locals, jordan/geeo for globals). If the person is an admin you can pm one of the other admins about it.

Zlinqx : That's a much better system than it used to be. Happy to hear that it's improved like that.
