This is just my view on the subject - who is the final judge? Is it your Mom or God? It is not up to your Mom to decide if someone goes to heaven or hell. It is up to God. I think God is a lot more forgiving of our mistakes than we are.

What geeogree said. Suicide may be selfish, and I even believe it may be unselfish on certain occasions (Matthew 5:29-30)...but who is to say who is forgiven? That's up to God. Jesus even forgave the two beside him who spat on Him and mocked Him. Everyone is capable of receiving forgiveness. They simply have to reach out and accept that gift. Many people in my church see suicide as the opposite of that: Saying "I don't want that gift, I give up.". Suicide isn't always giving up, though. For someone with mental disabilities like mine, it may give them a chance. If they can do nothing significant in this life, then departure to the next is a necessity. In the next life, they'll be given a resurrected body and will be healed. I really look forward to when I die (although I don't have legitimate reasons enough right now to commit suicide). I often daydream about what the next life will be like. Often, I see the problems of this life and am prone to being depressed. But I realize this life is a test. I will grow stronger by facing these trials head-on. And that will make me all the more stronger in the next life and will give other people a chance to be happier in this life.

We don't know how God views suicide. But committing suicide does not send one into the world of fire. What sends one into the world of fire is the refusal to believe in Jesus and accept him as their savior. If a Christian who has accepted Christ as their savior commits suicide. I don't think God would hold it against them. But as I said we don't know how God views suicide.

Suicide when it occurs is very tragic. I think as Christians we need to be there for people that are showing signs in hopes to save their life.

Suicide is something I feel really strongly about, so this post may get long on me.

Let's be practical. If Jesus went to all the trouble of living an absolutely perfect life, never sinning once, and died one of the most painful torturous deaths in practice at the time, just so He could give you the chance to spend forever with Him, do you think he'd stop and say 'woah man, I know I died for you and all, but that one thing you did was just too far and I decided my sacrificial life and death no longer apply because of that one thing'?

I don't either, which is why I'm confident that Jesus' payment covers all my sins.

Here's the kicker, though. If we believe Jesus is real, that He actually did die for our sins, and that His payment covers every sin we've made and will ever make (hence being a Christian), then we must therefore accept and act upon what He shares with us in the Bible. In First Corinthians 6: 19-20, Jesus inspires Paul to share that our bodies are temples to God, and God resides within us. In verse 20, we see that we're asked to 'honor God with your bodies'. My question to you is, do you think destroying the temple God has made of you is honoring to God?

As an analogy, let's say that you spend many hours working on a secret project for your friend's birthday. After finnnnnnaaaallllyyy completing it, you give it to him/her at their birthday party. They're elated! Super excited! You feel really good having given them that gift! You know it took a ton of work, and you could have spent that time doing something else, but you're happy with how happy the gift made them, and you know it was worth it.

Then, as soon as they finish thanking you, they purposefully tear a big hole in it, ruining the work you've done. It's their property, as you gave it to them, so they are allowed to ruin it if they want, but it still really hurts you to see that they purposefully ruined your gift. That's kinda how I see suicide. It's saying 'hey God, thanks for those 33 years you suffered and then eventually died an excruciating death just to save me from hell, I'm gonna cut things short and peace out'.

I'm not saying God won't forgive you, I'm saying you'd be hurting Him deeply (believe it or not, God has emotions too!). If you truly are accepting Jesus' gift, then hurting God and/or making light of that gift should be something you avoid.

The only unforgivable sin is to resist forgiveness. The question is then "do people that commit suicide resist forgiveness?" In general, I say yes. Forgiveness is not taking something into your own hands. Forgiveness is giving your guilt to the victim. However, this isn't an absolute thing. I cannot say that all suicide victims are necessarily opposed to forgiveness or outside of God's reach. I can only say that the act is not as open to forgiveness such that a Christian could endorse it.

Txgangsta:                    hi, its not FINAL unless of Man to turn his back of the n Lord.

hey supernerd117, its great to see you again.
tornadocam, what's up bro?
hey mrfe, nice to see you.
what up TX?
of this be of a serious thing, of issue at hand. this n is not of a subject to be so taken lightly, as those n of whom in talk of this n matter are in of the contemplation.  only of ye of a blind man. "geeogree", the brutish orc on a dark day of a cold heart, is of a blind man, as n of deleting my post, as he doth not n to even "know" what a miracle is even if it is of right before his very eyes. but a blind man could not see this. sucide is a travesty, of horror and disgrace. either for a lack of honor or love; of sometimes of ye in both to loss. "God is a lot more forgiving": and mercy and forgiveness are in of quantity and touch to of in healing hand to our heart in of the making, for of us to be healed, of our hearts mended. but of many are DEAF and cannot hear of others, only to of look away in of ignorance and callousness, to of turn their back on others. and n of then it happens, when of those are "deaf", having no mercy or forgiveness, no compassion, no understanding whatsoever what of life means. then is happens...sucide.
and of ye, who was of responsible deforest of this n crime? to have crushed the spirit of a drowning man, instead of the lifting. of ye cannot see? of ye cannot hear? but of one to loss of only love, or of only honor in of thy life, let not of thee to lose twice, as thee lose thy life. forest of ye in of a loss of life, no longer will of we to be of thy friend, no longer will of others be able to talk to thee. of many to miss thee. God loves thee. ye are importaint to God. never forget of this.
thou needs of a purpose. and thy purpose is in God. God shall n give of thee purpose. when of thee in the Lord, of thy problems to be of handled. when of thee in the Lord, many people will now start to care forest of thee. but when of thee in sadness and of despair, of thy further misery ton of sink, causing of others to become of distanced from of thee. but of the Lord, there is greatness, forest of God has of a great plan forest of thy life. of ye, of thy life, God has given to thee a purpose, for of God has created of us forest of a purpose. there is of a specific plan that God has in of mind for everyone, including of thee.
forest it doth not be of death that is of the in shining light of Heaven, but rather of life to behold in thy beating heart, in thy soul to reborn in of the future. forest of God's plans are forest of thee and thy people, of everyone in of this nation and then in of the entire world, of to prosper, and not n of harm. as of the superconglomerate corporations are of knocking on death's door, when of the future of Man has cometh. but of this future, of thee must have of hope that in of God we can of to overcome all of these obstacles, of the blind man. of the superconglomerate corporations, the blind man, who of always do of the wrong thing, never in the right, always in of crime and sin making of death. forest trying to save a rich man is like trying to stick a camel through the eye of a needle.
deforest of the rich do not need of God, as they have of money. of the rich do not need of compassion, as they can of to buy it with of money. the rich do not need of life, deforest they hath of money. as of the theives of the rich to steal n of the poor, deforest of the oligarchy in of the rule of the n rich to in bring of death and n destruction in of war with hope and faith for it to commence, the bulging pockets of their money making "business opportunity". let not of the n sins of the wicked and the crimes of the ultimate evil upon of this n Earth take of thy soul down with of the n sinking ship, whether of thy own nation or world or life or thy very soul. deforest of the oligarchy, who are of in the rule of the world and thy nation, as of oligarchial control, are only chaotic evil is of they can so of secretly get away with it, along with of a conquered nation's loot to add to the superconglomerate corporation's coffers with of one of their main sources of revenue being primarily to of steal from the poor and of another main source of their revenue deforest of the filthy rich to gain is in of energy, of money and of the lives of billions of the n poor to make away with as a theif.
so it is of purpose. as God would of to speak to thee in the coming of word. thy purpose in of life is not of death. of God in the telling, of thy purpose here on Earth, it is thus...
Decree of God
Ye shall be the Caretaker of the Earth.
death is of a sin. that is of God's teaching. so not of our own life, nor of the lives of billions, nor of all life on of the Earth entire. that n of all life is sacred, something to be of appreciated and respected. do not of ye to be disobedient to of the Lord, deforest in thy disobedience to of the Lord, of thy sins to commit. do not commit of sin. it shall n be of thy downfall, deforest of thee to fall.
instead, of ye in blessing, with of the blessing of the Lord, from the very hands of God Himself, will of to "Gift" thee with of ETERNAL LIFE. and n of Eternal Life is of the greatest treasure that n of any man can so of have.
it is because of God why there is life on Earth. and n without of God, there will no longer be of life on the Earth. if of ye to not of have of God in thy heart, of thy soul is lost. that is why God is importaint.
thy body is thy temple, which of this be of a sacred and meaningful thing, of a blessing to of the Earth. as of ye are a blessing to the Earth. and God is glad that of ye are here with of us on this n Earth. the Earth is Holy Ground, like of our bodies which are sacred. of things to in be of respected and honored. so of since our bodies are of sacred things, of a temple, then it is not our place to take our life, nor to take of the life of the Earth and all of the Living upon of it. While committing suicide is forbidden in the Quran, I do believe God forgives a person if they committed suicide, since I believe God loves and forgive everyone. At first I imagine God would be disappointed at the person (I believe God has feelings too!), but eventually God would forgive him/her. God would also be mad at first, because committing suicide is like you're rejecting God's gift: Life, and suicide is a very selfish act. But like I said, God eventually forgives. God doesn't put people in Hell permanently.

Who is to say God is real? Now,hear me out. If there was an all-powerful being that controls everything, would he not be seriously disappointed in us? Or shouldn't he be fired for letting the world end up like this? Now that is out of the way,I would think He would. Suicide might be the only way out of a hopeless situation. Let's say you have a terminal disease and you will slowly deteriorate mentally and physically. I would sure as hell want a bullet in my head than live like that. Or let us say, that you are so defeated by life that it might be viable than existing for no real reason.

I believe I made a rant on another site I belong to about this. I say,if someone is going to off themselves,at least have something in place to harvest organs or resources, that way nothing is wasted and they could help someone else. If man truly has free will, then it is his choice to end his own life.

Oldschool777 :

Why not, instead of taking yourself out, go out fighting your enemies? So lets say you have a terminal disease. Why not volunteer to use you as a human guinea pig? You could die from the disease, and you will likely suffer more. But, you've died fighting one of the many problems in the world. It seems a much more honorable death to me.

So, instead of saying we may kill ourselves in a given circumstance, why not simply fight the circumstance that makes us desire death?

That might be nice, except you are still terminal and declining by the day. And  who is to say it would help people or it would not contaminate the results? A lot of treatments have no long term results would be hard to do with those that are terminal.

There's no definite answer, but assuming we're talking about Christians who commit suicide, I'd say probably yes, he'd forgive them.

My reasons are:
- Once you accept Jesus' sacrifice, you're forgiven and have salvation. While it's obviously good to ask for forgiveness when you sin, it's not like you have to constantly worry about having to be forgiven again and again for every single sin for fear of dying before having asking forgiveness for something. You've already been forgiven, so whether you lied before you died without repenting or, worse, committed suicide, you've already been atoned for. It's not like the old covenant any more where you need to sacrifice something for every sin; Jesus was the perfect sacrifice and is all that's necessary. ...of course, some denominations disagree with this.
- Suicide is often a result of mental illness, and I like to think that God would be understanding about that.

Final Weapon : We really don't know, but I think it could possibly depend. If you were being tortured and bullied and people are making your life terrible, I think you deserve to go to heaven. But if you want people to feel bad for you and you want to be famous for your suicide, you deserve to burn. Of course, this is how I view it, and we don't know how God views it.

EDIT: If you do suicide and have not followed God and accepted Jesus into your heart, you will burn in the lake of fire.

OmegaVenomous : I don't think that's how salvation works. We're not saved because we've followed Jesus and accepted him into our hearts, we're saved because we've been forgiven. The question is if suicide is forgivable.

In my point of view, i don't think the god will forgive em, cause god place you on earth in the first place to pay your 'debt' from the life before now.
By debt i mean, like flaws, problems, etc etc i hope you know what i mean.
Thats just what i believe, agree or not i dont really care.

I would think so. Cripes, all a murderer has to do is accept last rites, confess to his sins and he is given a morally clean slate. But then again,I have not died and seen him to ask him what his stance is on that.

Oldschool777 : I'm pretty sure that's not how it works either. If the murderer must accept last rites and confess to his sins, then the person has to work for their salvation. This would contradict the Christian principle that salvation is not earned, but that it is a gift.

He is about to die,Txgangsta. It is a little hard to work for your salvation when you are dead.
