Hi guys, this is RDay13, Leader of The Squirtle Squad. I had another idea for a thread. I didn't see this type of thread in the Pokémon Forum, but if there are tell me and you can close this thread. 

Anyway, I usually name my rival in Pokémon Games Gary, Barry, Silver, or whatever the character's real name is. I was curious what everyone else names their rivals. (Lately,  when I have played RGR PKMN games, I have started naming some of the rivals after some of my friends on Vizzed.)

I know that some people like to name their rival something insulting.

So guys, tell me: What do you name your rival in Pokémon? (Feel free to write what you name your rival in each game if you don't name the rival the same thing every time.)

I don't really give my rival's names anymore.

I normally just try to skip the whole scene so my rival's name is usually AAAAAAAAA.

RDay13 : I almost always name my rival either after my boyfriend, my best friends, or my little brother ^u^ It just makes my rival more likable and as if they really were my childhood friend as most games say. Although I wish there were more female rivals.

In Pokemon Black, I name my rival Black. In black 2, I called him Black as well.

I've only ever given my rival a custom name once. I called him Silver in white2/black 2. Other than that, I've never actually given them a custom name aside from what has already been provided. So for the most part, I usually stick with red or gary or any of the canon names. 

I don't know if it's due to a lack of creativity, but I can never come up with a name, or nicknames for my rival or my pokemon respectively.

Well when I was younger I always named him Gary. Then once I got into the newer ones from Gen 5, I started with my friend Aaron, and ironically right now I name the rival after one of my best friends, who happens to be called Red.

I usually run a theme when naming my rivals and mons, but if for some reason I'm just naming them random stuff I usually name my rival degrading stuff (words not allowed on this site) if they're the douche type of rival, or I just give them a default or generic name.

When it comes to rivals I usually just use the default name unless I'm feeling in a bad mood in which case I may just name them something like D-bag or Asshat (I actually tend to use the later one a lot in the 1st gen games ).
