Back in June of 2012, I had this idea.

There were a lot of competitions on Vizzed, and those are great, but they never seemed to have the atmosphere a month long (or longer) competition should have. This isn't anyone's fault, it's just that they are routine. Basic. There's no keeping score beyond 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. People don't care who finished 17th.

It's great for the all stars who dominate every game, but for the every man who doesn't play many games... it makes it hard to enjoy a real competition.

So was born Vizzed Camp, a place where all kinds can reasonably compete, where your creativity and artistic skills, your funny bone, or your knack to make silly slogans were just as valuable as your ability to play a video game. A competition where you have a real chance to make an impact, and not only help yourself, but your team.

Because in the end, Vizzed Camp isn't an individual contest. It's a two-three month adventure you share with everyone else. Where you have teammates who rely on you, and those you rely on.

While staying competitive, it never loses that friendly nature that the people of Vizzed come here for. In essence, it's the type of contest I believe was made for Vizzed.

This will be the start of the second Vizzed Camp!

If you sign up, you will be put on a waiting list with all else who choose to sign up. Eventually, you will be sorted onto teams. Each team will go about tasks (which I will put in an activities thread!) and try to score points for their team. By the end of the contest (in August or so?), the team with the most points can lay claim to the title of Vizzed Camp Champions and gain infinite bragging rights until the next camp. There might be more prizes, but I cannot guarantee such things.

Q - What is Vizzed Camp?
A - It's an online camp for you, the users of Vizzed to have fun.

Q - Well, more specifically, what do we do if we signup?
A - What'll happen, is that every day I'll update the Camp Activities thread with the day's activity. You will do the activity, and get points for it if you do well.

Q - Wait, points? You mean like a competition?
A - Sort of, although it's less serious in nature than you probably think. It's entirely for fun. You will be split up into teams (There are going to be 4 teams) and compete for top honors.

Q - Well, what are the things we will compete in?
A - That varies. You may be tasked with finding a funny screenshot, speedrunning a section of a video game, or writing a haiku. You may be asked to share a funny joke, make a fake product, or draw a picture. The scope is rather large.

Q - How long will Vizzed Camp run?
A - I'm hoping to start the Camp in Early-Mid June. Anyone who signs up in this thread will be put on the list, and I'll summon ALL the campers at the beginning of camp to the camp thread. It will end at the end of August when school starts, or when I feel we've gone long enough.

Q - What are the prizes?
A - Mainly, bragging rights, but maybe more later!

A - You sign up by posting below that you want to sign up.

Q - Wait... there has to be a catch, who can sign up?
A - Anyone can! Except me. As this is not a staff project, I'm the only camp counselor. And as a result, anyone can sign up. Newbies, normal members, elites, locals, globals, hell, even Davideo7 could sign up! (man, that'd be something)

Q - Do I need anything in order to play?
A - Well, you must be able to view this post (It is an Innocent Town game now, which means only trusted+ members can view this), and you must want to participate (I'm very lenient when people go inactive, but I'd rather you didn't). Beyond all else, you must smile once.

Q - Smile? That's something losers do.
A - The point is, this is about the fun, not killing competition, or leaving them in the dust.

Q - When do signups end?
A - Signups never actually end. From the start of camp until near the end, people will be allowed to sign up. Vizzed Camp is about inclusion (although we do stress that users be at least trusted for quality purposes), and anyone who can view this post is eligible to join at any time they so choose.

I would defiantly choose Art(Not just drawing art. Like Musical Arts, Graphical/Visual Arts, lot's of things) mainly because I really enjoy that stuff and it should fairly easy for everyone to do.

It would be... a weird competition. Like, a contest on who can make the best ASCII art ever (a screenshot, of course!) or a contest on who can post in the deadest form the most. Without spamming. Or, who can annoy another user the most.

Really though this sounds like fun but I can't sign up until I get my new laptop so it really depends on when it is starting exactly since it'll likely take a bit more than 2 weeks until I get it. So I may not be able to join until a few days after it starts in that case. Once I do though I'll be sure to sign up.

I'll be gone for 5 days in July. I signed up for a summer camp with RL friends (how ironic), though we haven't received information on when yet (could either be during the second or third week of July). I'll edit once I get this information, which should be really soon.

I wouldn't mind anyone, as long as they wouldn't mind me.

I want a team that's easy to communicate with, and gets along. That's pretty much it, no specifics.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but there will probably be times from July 25th to August 9th where activity may be spotty, although I'm hoping it's not going to be too bad.

Depends on what kind of activity. You could have some small activities that only last 24 hours and some longer ones that last up to a week.

Since it's summer, one week should be fine.

As far as I know, I'm only away during the last week in July (27th to 31st) for camping, so I'd be unable to do anything then.

If I'm honest, I'm not too hung up about who I get put with. I'm almost looking at this as a way to cooperate with people I don't normally cooperate with.
