Every time I type out a post I have to proof read it, if not 2 times 3 times to correct any of my obvious mistakes. I still have a few mistakes in a couple of my posts I can imagine. Sometimes I reread other peoples posts as well especially if they are longer posts. I'm not sure if this is just an ocd thing or what. I reread texts before I send them as well. Sometimes I don't get a chance to reread my text messages depending on how I'm feeling though xP. So do you reread your posts before you send them or other people's posts?

I absolutely need to re-read my posts at least once... and then 9 times out of 10 realize there is still a mistake when I read it again after I post it. It's a good thing I'm not interested in writing for a newspaper, as I can't write well and fast for beans.

Edit: BTW, I realized there was a mistake after I posted this, and edited it..

Life is too short to worry about one or two mistakes. I used to be a perfectionist, but now, I just do a good job, and leave it at that. I still have to make things really nice looking, but I don't waste a bunch of time worrying about it.

I do something similar. I don't re-read my full posts, but as I'm writing them, I sometimes re-read it to know the best way to continue. And that's why I can spend like 5 minutes to do less than 100 words.

I personally rely a lot on the spell check, even more in guides due to their size, instead of re-reading my post before posting it. A bad habit, may I say, as it only corrects spelling errors and most of the times the error is proper grammar.

I usually do a quick re-read once I'm done typing a post. If after I submit there's anything wrong, I'll do a quick edit. Sometimes I end up debating myself about whether how I phrased something is correct, and I'll end up editing multiple times. It was a bad perfectionist habit. Back then I used to easily spend 5-6 hours a day on the forums. Now that I'm limiting myself to about half of that, I focus my time on actually responding to all the threads I need to respond to.

I consider myself a perfectionist at VERY few things, but writing is definitely the top of the list (well, that and breathing. I think I'm pretty OP at that too.). I have to limit myself to simply a quick scan for obvious grammatical and spelling errors, otherwise I could spend an obscene amount of time on even just the shortest of posts.

It depends on the post that I'm making. If it's something that's straightforward and very short, it doesn't require me to check for any mistakes. If it is something that follows a line of logic or requires me to to be clear in answering the question provided by the original post, then yes, I do reread it before I post it. This is partially why I am considered a slow poster because I focus more on quality than quantity.

Not so much for the spelling, really. I just need my posts to be well organized. I hate big blocks of text with no paragraphs and no structure. I usually reread my posts to see if I can do anything to make them easier to read through, especially in larger posts. 

That annoyance is only present online. I tend to forget to reread text messages, and since the spellchecker on that works so good, it often leads to embarrassing conversations.

I quite usually have to, because I will often type "save" as "wave" or something like that due to their position on the keyboard, and the computer doesn't pick up on it because they are technically both words. As a result, I have to read through it to make sure my sentences actually make sense, especially on bigger posts.

I used to be obsessed with rereading my posts before submitting them so I knew I spelled everything right and didn't say something wrong. I don't do it near as much anymore though. Once in a while I'll reread my posts before submitting them, but most of the time I submit my post then reread it

I do because the guidelines say "-Always proof read your posts!", so technically if I don't I'm breaking the rules, and the way that's written it feels like David is yelling it at us, so I don't want to risk upsetting him more over it. xD I still end up having to edit my posts because of errors sometimes though, and sometimes I find errors in posts I made months ago, and that's always fun (or not).

I actually used to reread post at least a dozen times before even using the spell checker, because spell checker doesn't check grammar. It became a bad habit after it took me three hours to reply to a friend on a message board and they thought I was ignoring them since they could see I was online. So nowadays I will just do a quick once over and spell check before posting. Then later if I feel like I made a mistake I will go back and reread it, sometimes even when I don't feel like I made a mistake but just to be sure.

I actually don't reread others post unless it's a topic I'm interested in or if it's an entertaining piece I want to re-familiarize myself with. I will reread others post on a topic I started though, just so I can make sure I am positive on what they meant so I can reply to them correctly and honestly.

This is about the only thing left that my OCD kicks in on anymore, and probably the worst thing for it to happen on since my spelling and grammer skills have and always will suck.
