Nope .
Also, Green, I'm not atheistic or agnostic either, but I hope you know that they are normal groups of people with good guys and bad guys just like every other group, because it sounded like you were desperate to tell us that you weren't "evil" or something xD. Of course, you may have just been trying to avoid being looked down on by biased people who actually do believe that atheists are heartless crazies or something .
Anyway, I don't believe in religion 100%, but I do to a certain extent. I believe in God because I need to. That may have sounded horrible, but look at it this way: He is described as generous and loving and other good things and stuff, and I can be lonely sometimes, so an awesome being like God to believe in really can make me feel better. I sort of think He created the big bang, dropped a bunch of cells on Earth, and left them to evolve or something .
Anyway, I am pretty skeptical, so I do not believe most of what religions say. The God I believe in isn't from any specific religion, either; He's sort of made up of the bits and pieces of the different Gods that different people with different beliefs believe in (the parts that I agree with).
I guess you could say my God is love. Also, He doesn't hate homosexuals, like many people believe He does. My God loves everyone, but He doesn't love their wrongdoings, and that's pretty much it.
I also believe in heaven and hell. I DO NOT believe gays go to hell for being gay. I believe everyone, including gays, who goes to hell, goes to hell for the same reason - committing a bunch of terrible crimes without feeling remorse. I don't even need to explain heaven, do I? Ha, ha.
Anyway, I do not believe people are born sinful and have to apologize for it once a week (no offense, but I find that awful), and I do not believe that God hates people for being anything but heterosexual.
Why would anything to have to do with love be sinful? ...
If homosexuality is a choice, according to people who back this up by saying that God does not make mistakes, I have just one question. Is autism a choice? Is cancer a choice?
Even if it is a choice, why is it a sinful one? Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I respect people of different religions and those without, but my basic rule is to be nice to others and not violate anyone's rights. I don't get my morals from a book; I get them from my head and common sense. Also, no offense, but I don't really like the idea, "those who aren't like us or don't share our beliefs are going to burn in flames for eternity". Yikes... I love some parts of religion because of how respectful and loving they teach us to be, but... some other parts are just ridiculous, in my opinion. A lot of people have died in wars because of religion, and I find that religion sets people apart instead of bringing them together. A lot of people will hate me for saying this, but what is it that truly unites us? Doubt . Also, I can't imagine calling myself a "good" person if my sole reason for being nice is the fear of hell. I swear I was not trying to be disrespectful to anyone, and I may have typed this a little more aggressively than I normally would have because of something that happened today which is unrelated. I love you all. Anyway, bottom line: I do not believe in religion 100%, and I probably never will. God bless everyone! Oh, yeah, almost forgot about those who don't believe in Him... Uh... Have an awesome day ! EDIT: Just realized this was in the Christian Conservatives forum... I guess I should have been a bit more careful. To remove any hard feelings, here's just a little something I'm sure we can all agree on. Nope .
