MMX here, and I've noticed I like to think I have OCD. Maybe all humans have a little bit of it but anyway, do YOU think you have it? And care to tell a story of when you thought you had it?

Most people who think they have OCD really don't.  Most people don't even understand OCD. You should never self diagnose, but this is some information on OCD that you can look at so you can decide whether or not that describes you.

I personally have compulsions from time to time and have considered OCD as a possibility, but I'm thinking I might actually have some form of tic disorder. I really should see a doctor and at least put the proper names on the things in my head.

Mega Mewtwo X : I can definitely relate to that. Like I said in my last post, I experience many of the symptoms you would expect in someone with OCD.

I was just about to say almost the exact same thing as Thebiguglyalien.  I think most people will claim it but don't really have it.  Personally, I kind of think about it in terms of addictions. " OCD" isn't really OCD unless it impedes on your daily life and hinders you from certain accomplishments.  (I'm sure that's a really bad way of putting it, but the best way I can explain it.)  Most people want some sort of organization and symmetry, so although we may think we're asinine about certain things, I'm sure those tendencies are perfectly normal.

I'm probably one of the most non-OCD OCDish people I know.  Playing board games with relatives is almost torturous because I have to constantly straighten the decks, or move pieces to be perfectly centered on their spaces.  (Anyone ever played Ticket to Ride?  aaaggggh!!!!)

Thing is, OCD is not what you think. OCD is not repeating things. Or making things symmetrical. Or how you want to do them. Or how you think it's correct. That's OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder). Now, while some symptoms overlap, it's an entire different thing.

OCD is more of anxiety, and it's over any compulsion that you obsess about. And it can be about anything, you don't have to be in the stereotypical things or anything. Most people don't have OCD (Read) as it's characterized by anxiety, panic or other related symptoms because of the obsession.

And OCD isn't cool or anything like many people think. It's not "Oh, I have to have this in a certain way, so OCD". It's a pain. A big one. Really big one. It ruins a big part of your life, trust me. It's not fun at all. It's quite insulting when you do stuff like that.

I could go on and on about the subject, but I think I've covered the basics.
And to answer the question, I have been diagnosed with some symptoms of OCD, and it's mild, but I don't have OCD completely.

Singelli : I have it on PC...the sad part is, although Mom loves board games, she won't play it because it's "a video game". ;-; I'll convince her...one day.

Eh, I like to collect retro games, but i'm not completely insane about it.


I like video games, but my collection is not bigger then an average retro game collection, really.

I like to have every season of dragonball on bluray, but I think everybody wants their favourite show on bluray.
I'll agree with Maguc, it's not anytin' to just simply talk about in that manner, no diagnose, really.

I have no symptoms of OCD as i am not obsessed in some way with what I collect, I also actually have played all of the games I own. and watched through my DBZ bluray collection multiple times.

I've often thought I might have OCD, but I've never actually been tested. After reading the symptoms, I can say that all of the ones about contamination from touching things or shaking hands, making sure the stove is off, the door is locked, stressing over things that aren't orderly, I definitely do that kind of thing. 

Not so much anymore, but I would wash my hands after every little thing and constantly checked to make sure my door is closed before I leave to go somewhere. I would check it so much and to the point that I'd end up being late. If I was out, I couldn't think about anything else and I'd stress over it. I'd always count things in little patterns and ask my brother or sister's to check stuff for me and reassure me it was all good. 

It became so time consuming and tiresome, that I just tried to stop. I still do check things repeatedly and a certain amount of times, but if it is actually OCD, it's not as bad as it was.  

I don't, but every now and then I would do something that an OCD person would do, usually it's with orginization stuff like a couple times a month.

In someway, I do have this, but it really depends on what it is though. Sure, I know there is a couple of things I just wanted so bad that I want to buy it right away, but as for anything else, I really ain't that bad though. Sure, when it comes to video games, I want to buy as much as I can. Although it is good because I got a job and all, so it's really my business on what I buy though. But yeah, I can relate to this.

I usually think I have it when I'm watching TV, and there's stuff in front of it. I can still see the TV, but their just there. I just move the stuff out of the way and onto the floor, because I'm such a slob, as my mother tells me.

maguc : Thank you so much for saying that. It is one of the most annoying things to me when someone says they have "bad OCD"... It makes me immediately think that the person saying it is ignorant because they don't know what OCD really is.
