SMBLOZ123 : Actually....there are experimental hoverboards that are in progress and these have been in progress since mid year.

You know, their is a total of 365 days in 2015, maybe someday this yeah, who know's maybe hoverboards could be invented, we will never know. but if we don't have hoverboards by December 31st, 2015, then Back in the Future lied to me and made me give up hope in hoverboards.

The only thing that is certain about 2015 is that there will be many more iPhones and ipads and such, that's really all that we can guarantee will happen. I personally think actual hoberboards can be made but I think its decades away and I would much rather have a jetpack than hoverboard, so it really doesn't affect me much, and if anything, Google would be the one to make them.

No hoverboards? That sucks. I could have finally been able to board. I could never skateboard.

From what I saw, with only air-friction there seems to be trouble with turns and spins that just accelerate too fast.

So they might actually have to create more air-friction with the design - who would have thought?!

There may not be hoverboards, but there are self-driving cars. I expect that this technology will go even deeper throughout the year. However, I fear that we may have really bad times, with North Korea and such getting angry at the U.S.

I'm waiting for the auto adjusting shoes and auto drying jacket.

I guess flying cars would be cool too...but not so sure they would be a great idea...
Most people haven't even mastered driving in the X/Y direction...I can only imagine what would happen if we add that Z direction.

play4fun : I can't watch videos right now, so I apologize if it's been answered: when was that video made? The reason I'm asking is because I really thought I read an article a few weeks ago that said a functional hover board had been accomplished.

Who cares about hover boards? I'm still waiting for the fashion trend where all the kids wear their pockets inside out. Come on Back to the Future, don't lie to me now!

Since there are already hover boards, I expect they will make some hover boards based off of true pressure. If someone is able to make a hover board before the end of 2015, people will praise that person for making something based off of a popular movie . Honestly, I think the fact that Back to the Future stated there would be hover boards by 2015 will make people try extra hard to make sure there are hover boards.

Yep, still waiting for all the Back to the Future stuff.
In all honesty, I'm probably just going to buy the Green Viper in the Item Shop, because I'm kind of depressed now that this thread has brought said movie series to mind.
A virtual hover board is good enough...for now.

Forget hoverboards. Where is my colony on the moon and moving sidewalks? They promised me a colony on the moon and moving sidewalks. I clearly remember my teacher in first grade telling me that by the time I was thirty we'd have these things. Why can't I live on the moon yet?

I sincerely hope we don't go the Back to the Future fashion route though. I just re-watched that movie and...wow. Just wow.

Seriously, though, science is making huge leaps and bounds in what is possible and what we expect. I have no idea where we go. The fact that we're  making laws about robotic sentience-I'm not kidding, look it up, there are several countries currently drafting laws about how to handle the possibility now that an android managed to pass the Turing test-makes me a bit worried though. 

Edit: Just a little rewording, as I realized I used the word seriously about seven times in the original post. XD

thudricdholee :  While advances in technology can be predicted with fair accuracy, I'd be surprised if ANYONE can predict future fashion trends.  lol  I think trying to do that is about as feasible as trying to get a grip on wind.

Scientists are planning expeditions to Mars to start colonies!  Is that not good enough? lol  Forget the moon... you have Mars!

(Also, shame on that teacher for making such a promise!  lol)

I expect this year to be the year eSports gets serious recognition! Along with possible hoverboards as well sometime in the far future. I would also love to see great improvements to the Oculus Rift as well. (As well as a decrease in its price.)
