How is your breathing patterns?

Are you a loud breather? A nose breather? A mouth breather?

How often do you manually breathe?

Do you ever have breathing problems? What about any breathing disorders?

Personally, I'm a quiet nose breather who has a mild case of asthma. I never really have big problems breathing and I enjoy breathing tremendously. How about you?

I breathe through my mouth, VERY, VERY LOUDLY. I also breathe very quickly, even if my breaths are hasty or random. I just breathe, cause that's how I roll (being 6'4' might also contribute).

My breaths are long, quiet, and I also breathe through my mouth. My nose is always stuffy, and I get nosebleeds very easily, so I can't blow my nose, which is why it's 100% out of my mouth.

I breathe through both my mouth and my nose slowly and quietly. I think that's rare for a person to regularly do. I've done that for at least a year and a half. I breathe several times per minute. I never have major breathing problems, and I rarely have minor breathing problems. Multiple times, for at least a day, my chest started hurting when I breathed. I can never figure out why.

I breathe through my nose and I take very shallow breaths, So shallow that I sometimes have to check myself to see if I am still breathing.

I breathe through my nose quietly and sometimes I breathe through my mouth when I have a cold. I breathe regularly but sometimes fast when I'm running and jogging in the morning to exercise my body. I do have a breathing problem since I have an asthma but I currently monitoring it to prevent that sick.

I was so confused when I first read the title of this thread. I breathe through my nose and pretty quietly I've had tons of practice learning it.

I huff and puff and I blow your house down with my breathing.

I breathe through my nose like normal human beings and it takes quite the practice to learn from it as well as staying alive.

I usually breathe through my nose somewhat quietly though some people think I breathe somewhat loudly sometimes. I also breath through my mouth but mostly only if my nose is clogged when I'm sick or I'm doing something exhausting.

I find it hard to actually know for sure. I mean, if I am specifically paying attention to it, then I don't know if I am breathing the same way I normally do when I am not focusing on it. I am a nose breather, and I am pretty sure it is very quiet. Each breath is pretty long. After I breathe out, I take a few seconds to breathe in again.

rcarter2 :  I feel the same way about how I walk and what I do with my arms when I walk.  haha. Every time I start to pay attention to it, I wonder: Am I doing it this way only because I'm actually paying attention to it... or is this how I normally do it?

Breathing though... I know how I do that. XD  I always breathe through my nose.. I actually find it very weird to breathe through my mouth. My breaths are genuinely slow and deep... which is odd considering that I have a pretty high metabolism.  Even when I exercise, I try to keep my breathing on the slower side.

Every so often, I take a really, really deep and long breathe before releasing it... or I just plain out sigh.  I find it refreshing, I guess?  It drives my husband batty. He will ask "Why are you sighing?" and I don't even realize I've done it.  Then I have to convince him nothing is wrong with me. lol

I am a mouth breather. I breath what is described big and heavy because I have lung conditions. I have asthma and a rare lung condition. So sometimes breathing can be difficult. That is why I exercise and lift weights to help improve my lungs and breathing

As for breathing problems I have a few, and you probably know most of them.

I mostly breath through my mouth and take short quiet breaths because It's impossible for me to take big ones now.

I mostly breath through my nose as breathing through your mouth can sound really disgusting, and since there are special hairs in your nose to filter the air it's healthier to breath through your nose. However, when I am exercising I easily get exhausted, start to sweat very soon and that also means I huff and puff a lot through my mouth. The only times I breath with my mouth when I'm not exercising are when I have a leaky nose because I have a cold.

I breathe through my nose when I can. I have pretty bad asthma, so sometimes breathing can be a struggle even when trying to breathe through my mouth. Most of the time, I'm wheezing quietly so I really cherish those days when my asthma is non-existent.

I almost always breathe through my nose for just about everything, even when I am running or jogging because I've noticed that breathing in and out through your mouth wears you out faster. I also breathe in and out through my nose when I sleep, I am thankful that I don't snore and it is really something I hope I can maintain because I would hate to snore as an adult. I am also glad that I don't have allergies or asthma...I can imagine how difficult it must be to try and breath fresh air. The only other time I might breathe through my mouth is when I'm congested and my nose is stuffy, I might breathe through my mouth depending on how bad it is.

I take small, quiet breaths through my nose. I usually breathe using my chest, but I always start breathing using my stomach whenever I get the hiccups or I'm out of breath. Sometimes though I breathe very loudly, so I use a trick I learned years ago to barely breathe. You start breathing like normal, then reducing the amount of air you take in my around 20% per breath until you can't really reduce it anymore. It's a neat trick to know, even if you never really have any uses for it

Depends entirely on the circumstance. When I am in a situation where I'm relaxed and the heart rate is down, it is shallow and quiet nose breaths. When I step outside for something, and especially during exercise, it is still quiet, but I prefer deep breaths from the mouth.
