This thread literally made my day. Thanks a lot. xD The last option especially.

I think that clowns are freaky, but not so bad that I necessarily have a phobia nor do I think that they are nightmarish. I feel like that developed somewhere around the time that I watched a movie about a circus (I was probably 10), and it had a group of clowns, and these clowns would take children, and lock them in their van. It scared me, and I have been more cautious when it comes to clowns ever since.

On one side clowns can be very weird and freaky but most of them in the circus are just the kind who are nice and do things to let you laugh. But in most movies you see that clowns are actually killers, kidnappers, dressed up thieves and who knows what so they are getting a wrong image.

Clowns are awesome. I went to Blackpool and saw the circus there and the clown was mucking about in the stands and causing mahem. I can understand why people are afraid of them but I absolutely love them.

I don't really think much of or about them to be honest. I don't really see anything wrong with them, but to me they are just weird and sometimes creepy, but not in a scary sort of sense. One thing I don't really understand is how people can be afraid, or have nightmares about them, sure they are weird and all, but to have a phobia of clowns? Of all things?....aside from that, they can really be quite entertaining and even funny at times...Other than that though, I really don't have much personal experience to add to this, therefore I have nothing else to say about the matter.

Think that clowns are funny most of the time, when they are just dresses normally, and not with a bunch of crap on. If they aren't all scary looking, and not out on the street, I'm not afraid of them. If they are performing, then they are funny and I enjoy a clown. I'm neutral. I've been to my fair share of circus performances when I was younger, and I've never had any feelings about clowns. I don't find their appearance funny nor scary, just goofy.

I've actually never been to a circus or seen a clown in real life... like, ever. I'm not a fan of clowns. 

While I've never seen one with my own eyes, I've seen enough movies to know how scary they can be.
I know this isn't always the truth, but it kind of gives you a first impression.
