As some of you know, the site automatically closes old threads depending on the forum. I've updated that script so that it no longer closes threads in the 'Game Guides', 'Game Articles' and 'Game Reviews' forums. I also ran a query which opened up all threads in those forums.

There's a few reasons for doing this:

1. If someone wants to go back and edit one of their old Guides, Articles or Reviews, they should be able to. There have been some cases where users wanted to edit their old Reviews or Guides but weren't able to since those threads were auto closed.

2. Video game guides and reviews are always relevant so they don't need to be closed unless they're spammy or plagiarized. Depending on the article, they're usually always relevant as well (unless it's a current even type article).

Gingercream1 : If it can stay on topic and not be spammy then yeah, it'd be fine to post in an old review or guide. I think it'd be pretty easy to detect whether the person is bumping just to spam and in those cases, we'll discipline.

This is good news. However, the articles I am doing for XBOX 360 Sales ( which I was instructed to put in Game Discussions for XBOX 360 since I am not a staff Article Writer... ) are not exactly relevant after a couple of days... Should the mods just close them on their own, then? Or should I message a mod after they are no longer relevant?

Davideo7 : that's very good update there. Besides, why close a review? If a person wants help from a game and a random person made a review for it and its thread got closed. It doesn't make any sense to close a review and if the person changed his mine on writing his/her review to edit it.

You can definitely temporarily close threads if you want.

I agree with that concept, but you know what that means, guys...we need to really be looking out for review comments that absolutely pointless and vague and off topic for post count during posting competitions. We better not be seeing some "oh, nice review, it looks long and detailed" type of comments.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.
