Welcome to the Pokemon Tournament Signups. This is a pokemon competition for the site pokemon showdown which can be found at play.pokemonshowdown.com A competition to see who is a good team builder and to see who is possibly the best one of them all.

IMPORTANT RULE: When you battle, you MUST use OU mode, not custom battle. Using OU will keep you from breaking most of these rules. Full tier list here.

Rules:

1. When making teams they are to be made on custom tier(no format in team build) but pokemon can only know things they learned ingame and must have abilities they get.

2. No legends/ubers with the exceptions of Heatran, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, the Regi trio, the Lake trio, the bird trio, the dog trio, Victini, the Musketeers, Meloetta, Manaphy, Latios/latias, Kyurem Black, the Therian forms of the Kami trio, Deoxys-D and Deoxys-S, cresselia, and regigigas.

3. If using any pokemon that use moves that aren't normally used/using pokemon that are not allowed you will automatically be DQd.

4: If you are going to have a mega evolved Pokémon, to stay closer to the game, you must give them the respective mega evolution item.

5. If having a pokemon with mega evolution make sure it isn't mega evolved when sent out this is to ensure said pokemon has megastone

pokemon x : This looks interesting, is there a difference between which version? The Download one and online one?

zanderlex : There is no difference it is just one you don't have to go through browser and it is quicker when downloaded on starting up wise.

For clarification sake, I guess you either make a banlist of your own, or ban/adopt Ubers completely. Been searching for a Nintendo banlist but couldn't find a bans only one. Not everyone is aware of which pokemons are banned on either list and there can be confusion because of that, I highly advise on adopting a banlist.

mvhupsel : Thanks, this helped. I wanted to see which ones were banned. I was hoping Pokémon like Mega Kangaskhan were banned cause that Pokémon is too over powered. This answers my question on Scizor cause I thought it was an Uber as well. Had no idea Double Team and Minimize were banned.

I'm probably starting to get annoying but something else also came to mind... >.<

Will Smogon banned Mega Items count? I'm asking this because the pokemons that use these itens aren't on the Ubers banlist. Like Gengarite and Lucarionite for example, those are allowed or banned?

That's probably my last question (hopefully ).

mvhupsel : I think mega blaziken gengar and kangaskan ones are banned but unsure of the others.

pokemon x : Both normal and Mega-Blaziken are banned.

As for Gengar, Lucario and Kangaskhan, they're only allowed without using their respective Mega Items. Wanted to know if the items will be banned or not, that's all.

Since the 2 people we were waiting on never exactly responded brackets were made with 16 people unfortunately less than 32 but still works out perfectly so all good.

What is this a DQ post? But on patar and sops battle sops mega-gyrados had leftovers instead of the megastone that was needed resulting in him not having it like it can be in the games. Due to this patar is the actual winner.

pokemon x : I did not think that was a rule beforehand, unless the rules were updated more recently before our match, and disallowed mega-evolution from the beginning without a megastone. So, are we both out then? 

sop281 : In the game it is impossible for Pokémon to hold another item when it's holding a mega stone, even when it has mega evolved. Megastones cannot be tricked knocked off or stolen.

However, this is allowed on Pokémon Showdown and I have no idea why. I believe there was no new rules added before your match. We have to wait to see what's happens.

pokemon x : My Charizard did have the mega stone, although I guess that couldn't really be proved unless you could see the hold items from the replay video. That new rule is a good idea, though. But like cnw said, I have no idea why this was allowed. It seems odd that where something like Sand Attack is looked down upon lets you do this.

sop281 : Rule 4 had that mega evolutions needed the mega stone of theirs.
patar4097 : For both of you do you want to do a rematch with the base pokemon but also have the mega stones for them and mega evolve them in battle? Somebody suggested this to me since you both said you were unfamiliar with 6th gen.

Final note if the people that have said their opponent hasn't contacted they will be DQd for failing to respond despite being active enough since the start to reply. When they will be DQd if there is not a lot they will be replaced by people who lost.

By the way, seeing as people had issues with Mega Evolutions, what about Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Lucario and Mega Gengar? Those 3 megas are a part of Uber, but since they aren't technically pokemon themselves, people could use them thinking it's alright and thus leading to another argument. It's better to let people know if all Megas will be allowed or not and if not add them to the list of banned pokemons as well.

My opponent, Swiftwynd, has not replied to me at all since the beginning of the tournament. I'm waiting on the decision from you guys.

If we end up having a losers bracket, everybody will have to know about this. To keep all these rules from getting a little hard to keep up with, now, when you battle somebody, make sure to battle using "OU" rules instead of the Custom Battle rules. This will keep you from being able to use the overpowered Pokémon like Mega-Blaziken, Mega-Kangaskan, and banned moves. It will also make sure you have the Mega Stone before being able to use Mega Evolutions. I added it above all the other rules as well.

That's what I get for trying to use a Monotype Bug team that I built for gen 5. Good game, Gamin' Gal.


So what exactly is going to happen now? Do I go to a losers bracket, sub in for someone who isn't being active, or am I just done for good?

Morsalbus : Losers bracket but if somebody doesn't show up(2 in your case and that you will still want to participate) you will be able to face somebody as a replacement if their opponent never shows.

patar4097 : the only thing is, some items that aren't banned don't work in OU mode. I believe only certain mega stones were banned yeah? It wouldn't let me carry in a Dark gem or Custap Berry.

Gamin'Gal : It specifically won't let you carry certain items if they can't be legitimately obtained in the game each respective pokemon is found. Both items you've brought up cannot be obtained in Gen VI, so you can't use them on a Gen VI pokemon. They are allowed on Gen V and under pokemons only as of now, since you can only get these items on Gen V.

mvhupsel : Well derp.

Gamin'Gal : That's not for me to say, you'd have to ask either patar4097 or pokemon x about that. I personally would say have the match again, but it might be best to choose between leaving it as it is or resorting to DQ you based on the rules, there's been enough trouble getting the current matches going...

I am such a derp. I had no internet on Sunday, and I wasn't on vizzed yesterday. I honestly had no idea this started.

Swiftwynd : Even though you have been DQ'd due to inactivity, other people have as well, so I think that if you are now able to show up and schedule your matches, you could fill for someone else that may also have been DQ'd for similar reasons. ask patar4097 or pokemon x if you can rejoin and maybe they'll permit.

Swiftwynd : The only way to rejoin now is by waiting till like 2-3 others join from others in the tourney are DQd from inactivity/not responding. But if you are lucky there is a possibility you will rejoin.

Sorry for the double post but submitting my battle with play4fun. http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-147328458 He is still lost in the vast newness of gen 6 but still did pretty well despite thinking he could use more than 1 mega pokemon.

Also update round 1 will end tomorrow after kodas and zlinqxs match tomorrow with a new brackets up as well.

We did have our match. I just didn't want the battle  posted. I lost.

Just to clarify on lilys I watched hers which is why no replay was posted.

Well I was kind of confused as I didn't even think I got to be in the tournament and then I wasn't sure if I lost now because we were supposed to do our match yesterday but I just spoke to Pokemon X who did say we were given until today and we decided to do our battle at 5pm server time and it's now been 15 minutes and he hasn't showed so I'm guessing this means I win by default?

I wasn't expecting my match to be today so I was busy most of today until now. You never messaged me back to say whether or not I had won since he didn't show up yesterday. I couldn't care less about this tournament, but I thought it would be fun. Not even having a single battle and being thrown out of the tournament sucks. If you're still handing out second chances I'll be waiting for mine.

cnw64 : You wouldn't get DQ'd due to the lack of opponent in this case, you'd get a free win instead, but Koda and Zlinqx have agreed on getting their match going, so you probably shouldn't worry, 1 of them will surely advance to face you (as for that, feel free to worry as much as you want lol).
