I've always tried to attempt to catch em' all, but the only games where I've caught em' all are the second generation games, and it was a very difficult process. Trying to catch em' all can be redundant, though, for a lot of reasons. You can encounter the same Pokemon a lot of the time, and it requires a lot of Pokeballs to do. When I first played Pokemon, I never attempted to catch em' all.

It's just gts trades never are fair, everyone wants a legendary Pokémon for other Pokémon that may even be a simple find in the other version of the game. I have also not come close to catching them all. The closest I got was halfway in black and white. I think that is like 300 Pokémon out of 600 something (I don't know).

I have never caught them all. The closest that I ever got to catching 'em all was in my Pokemon Diamond file with 300 something out of  493 which is around 3/4 captured. Pokemon Diamond was my best game file that I used so much time and work on. Whoever caught them all in an original Pokemon game, I give you props!

I only ever did it in Pokemon Crystal. After that there were just waaaaay too many! I tried on X, but didn't get very far (think I only collected around 250-70). Plus with Wi-Fi battles and Wonder Trade I've been pretty distracted from my original "catch 'em all" goal.

I remember I have come really close a long time ago, back when Gold and Silver first came out. Back then, I was really into Pokémon. I also had a bunch of friends that played it, too. The closest I have ever come to "catching them all" is one. I had caught 250 out of 251 Pokémon in Pokémon Silver. Of course the only one I had left to catch was Celebi. I have NEVER owned a Celebi in Pokémon. The only way I could probably get one is trade with someone that already has it (duh).

Another thing, the Pokémon Crystal hack on Vizzed allows you to catch most of the Pokémon. The hack is called Pokémon Crystal All or something like that. I caught all of the same Pokémon except for Mew, Mewtwo, and Celebi. So that's 248 out of 251. But this time, I didn't have to trade with anybody. Most of the catchable Pokémon show up in the wild. Its my favorite hack by far.

Yeah I have both in Pokemon Diamond and the original Pokemon Black. I had to trade a whole lot but I managed to get them all. And since then I haven't bothered, I might eventually but I'd rather focus on training the Pokemon I have. I do wish I still had those save files though...
