I would start with a charmander because it just looks more playful than the others. Torchic grows up to be the strongest but if I did not know that I would choose Charmander all the way. 
 
It all depends on their natures though and how would they react if I let them out of their ball to play or something.

I am not sure, but I would probably want either a chimchar or a cyndaquil as my fire type starter, I like both of these pokemon as well as their evolutionary chain, and both can learn powerful moves that would be able to protect me if I ever needed to be protected. I have always thought fire types were cool, and these two pokemon would be great because they have great special attack and decent speed as well. Good question.

I would choose Fennekin, simply because it is the most solid out of all 6. It manages to be fast, a powerful special attacker, and a valuable partner. Also, Fennekin and its evolutionary line are more likable than the others to me, because of its cuteness, and its basis on an RPG mage.

I would have to say Charmander because I grew up with him and I have always loved Charmander I really enjoy lot's of his move set and  evolutionary line. But I agree with awesome about the nature and the letting play out of the pokeball thing

Growing up as a kid I fell in love with Pokemon Gold. In my twenties I found Pokemon Heart Gold. All of that being said and my favorite type being fire of course, I have to pick Cyndaquil. A good early on combo it learns is Swift and Flame Wheel. AND IT'S CUTE~
