My cousin, Jason Vosler, was just drafted in the 16th round (469th overall pick) by the Chicago Cubs!

He is a shortstop and he was in his junior year of college at Northeastern University. He was the first player from Northeastern to get drafted this year.

It may actually be a good thing to get picked by the Cubs. Since they are bad, he may have a better chance of making it to the majors.

I'm also glad the Red Sox didn't draft him. Seeing as he's a shortstop, and our shortstop depth... we don't need him. That's pretty cool, I congratulate him because that is a pretty big accomplishment to get drafted into a team...and the first one at that! I really don't know all that much about baseball since I don't watch it, but I honestly think it is a big deal to get drafted at all, despite the team you are on...but that is just my opinion. 


So congrats to him and I hope enjoys every minute of it.

The Cubs are my second favorite baseball team. Bad thing they aren't that good. At least he got drafted at number 469! I feel truly happy for him. It's rare getting drafted. But I'm pretty sure he won't get that much playing time.

I know that I am a bit late to the party but...CONGRATS! I'm a big baseball fan (have been playing since I was 5) and the Cubs happen to be my second favorite team, next to the Tigers. Nice! Yeah the Cubs aren't that good, but getting drafted by any team is an accomplishment. The Cubs decided to pick your cousin over any other player out there that wasn't already drafted. That, in itself, is saying something about him. They saw enough potential and talent in your cousin to select him. Congratualtions to you and your cousin on this amazing feat!

On a personal note, a friend of mine was just signed by the New Orleans Saints over the summer. He went undrafted, but the Saints signed him and he is currently battling for a position on the team. His name is Seantavious Jones, and he plays WR.
