I had a frustrating day today, with the baby, with the dog, with house stuff, and I felt like I was in a funk.  I went for a nice long run, worked up a sweat, and I feel better.

How do you folks deal with frustration at different things?

I drive and listen to music it seems to calm me down a lot! Or I go to sleep. I also yell it out or walk my dog. I find it depends on how mad I am.

In the most extreme of situations, I go somewhere secluded where nobody is, look at the sky, and pretend to be a sailor who has clearly never had soap in their mouth.

Most of the time I try to do things that would end up acting as both a distraction, and also as a thing to lift my spirits. I love playing games, and I love watching anime, and I love reading, so any of the three activities would work to help me deal with frustration. I could, in some cases, also be cured by eating some of my favorite foods, or by hanging out with my friends, or by listening to music, but they tend to help significantly less in that regard.

I like to deal with frustration in two very different ways. One way I like to deal with a hard day is just to pack up my gun and hit the shooting range. It is very relaxing to shoot a nice AK 47 semi automatic assault riffle and just try to unload that frustration in a safe environment. Another, more common, way I like to deal with frustration is just to put my headphones on and unwind with some relaxing music. I like to think about all the instruments and try to understand the lyrics, rather than just go with the beat.

When I go exercising it clears up my mind, or I eat a lot or I'm just sad until someone talks with me and then I feel better. I also like to spend time with electronics since you forgot about the other things and just can concentrate on Vizzed or games for example.

I tend to keep it to myself sometimes which is a bad habit I am hoping to break. I mainly do it out of sheer anger and frustration and I just don't want to talk about it with anyone else. I sit down and breathe. I just try not to focus on anything for a while. Then, i usually go run somewhere listening to some music. Mostly because i enjoy running (It's one of my favourite things to do).
And i repeat that cycle until i'm not frustrated anymore ^^

When I feel I am nearing a breaking point, I try to step back an remove my self from the cause. Playing your favorite video game or taking a nap normally helps. Unfortunatly for myself the sorce of my frustrations is almost always job realated so I just cant get up and leave when I am mad so I just try to get through the day calm headed and take extra care to think about what I say when I get like this as I am more likley to say something out of the heat of the moment that I dont normally agree with. Just try to stay away from vices like cigerettes and alcohol as these may have short term relief but never and actual solutions.
