What if pokemon let you pick any pokemon to be your starter?(no legends or evolved pokemon 1st stage only) 
What would it be? Why did you pick it? And would one of the pokemon games be easier with it? Or more challenging?
If you don't want to answer any questions and just tell witch pokemon it would be it's ok

This would be awesome. I would probably start with a Magikarp. No, I'm kidding. I'd probably resort to choosing at random because there would be too many to choose from. It would definitely change the game, though I don't know how much it would affect difficulty.

I would probably want a dragon type starter, so anything like dratini, deino, gible, bagon, or anything like that would be a pretty awesome starter in my opinion. I really like dragon types, and I would love to have one as my starter. I'm not going to lie, it would be pretty cool if that is what they actually started doing, I think it would be more challenging since dragon types are effective against each other, so if it were dragons across the board, it would be quite the experience. Then again, dragons are super strong and resistant to almost everything except ice, and stupid fairy types, otherwise, it would definitely make easy work of the gyms! Good question by the way!

In all honesty, I'd hate the games if they let you pick any pokemon you wanted. I mean, there are hundreds upon hundreds of pokemon and I'm already a pretty indecisive person.  I'd likely never get past the first scene in the game because I'd never make up my mind.

I don't even like the series, and I can tell you that allowing you to pick any starter you want would take away so much of the game. I mean, let's be real. Everyone would pick the most powerful, and pwn the game easily. You'd have to seriously limit what pokemon the player could choose if you wanted the general concept to work, and even then it could be abused.

mrfe : I don't even think I would pick the most powerful pokemon, honestly. It seems like there are many that could fit into that category, first of all. Second of all, the games are ridiculously easy to beat even with mediocre pokemon.  I think because of these reasons, people would be more likely to pick their favorite pokemon regardless of strength or other favorable attributes.

gamer537 : this is not tecnicly a starter but its in the game missingnoe ghost sprite mostly because its ghost and missingnoes awesome mostly in red blue and yellow though if you do it in the newer games it'll just be a giant quetion mark that only knows strugle and deletes your pokemon

Yeah, I agree that Missingno should have become an official pokemon. It'd make a great plot point for a future game! Missingno could be the legendary pokemon glitching up the world. It came from Cinnabar Island's computer lab as a glitch, and found its way out via Porygon (or insert another digital pokemon). Now it's wreaking havoc on the world!
